Transformed into Kanna in Terra

Chapter 29: High-End Combat Power Lies in Comprehensive Development

"Hmm, hmm, hmm! It's definitely Kanna!"

Upon hearing Chloe's remark, Kanna straightened her back, hands planted on her hips, looking quite proud.

The other two glanced at Chloe, their eyes silently asking,

"Weren't we discussing this matter during lunch? You two just didn't notice it at the time. I thought they were just telling stories back then—but I never expected it to be true."

Chloe, not sullying her Katses heritage, had clearly caught the nearby operators' conversation in the noisy cafeteria.

Fen walked over to Kanna, reached out to pat her head, and, seeing the look of pure enjoyment on her face, felt relieved.

"Even though Kanna is now a full operator, it's still very dangerous outside the bridge!" Fen said. For the little one rubbing against her hand, Fen simply couldn't regard her as a bona fide operator yet.

"Are you all planning to train outside?"

Kanna asked.

"Just our usual daily exercise. Chloe mentioned she was tired of the training grounds' equipment, so we decided to train outdoors—though I suspect that might just be her excuse," Fen replied with a smile.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't tarnish my image in front of the kids! You never get tired of the training grounds either. If I didn't say this, you wouldn't be willing to go up to the bridge… It's so nice to get out and enjoy the view." Chloe's voice was measured and unhurried.

Kanna sniffed the air.

"Looks like Sister Chloe's wish to slack off is about to go down the drain."

The others looked at Kanna with puzzled expressions.

"The wind smells very damp—I've smelled that before. Once you catch this scent, heavy rain will follow shortly."

Earlier, while at the top, Kanna had sensed a very damp smell carried by the wind. Using her extraordinary vision, she saw a bank of rain clouds drifting toward Rhodes Island. If the island's course remains unchanged, heavy rain will begin to fall from above in no more than half an hour.

Her words met with some skepticism from the group.

At that moment, a male figure appeared not far away, walking toward the corridor entrance.

"Kanna isn't wrong. We're about to face a downpour. Rhodes Island is preparing to change course and seek higher ground for shelter. Don't stay out too long."

The figure drifted by like a ghost; as his voice faded, he disappeared at the end of the corridor.

"It's SCOUT!" When Scout passed by, the previously relaxed group immediately snapped to attention in proper military posture. Only after he had passed and they responded in unison like a reflex from drill practice did they relax again.

"Wow! I never thought you'd be able to detect weather changes, Kanna." Chloe glanced around. Everything looked normal as usual; if it weren't for Scout's announcement about the impending rain, she'd think Kanna was just teasing.

"It seems Kanna has the gift of a natural weather messenger!"

The group, holding Kanna's hand, returned down the corridor. Although Chloe dreaded being dragged back by Fen for more training, she had no choice but to obediently return to the island—after all, unpredictable weather waits for no one.

"Since we can't play outside any longer, let's go back and train. See you all later!"

Fen, with a look of frustrated resignation on her face, led Chloe toward the training room.

Meanwhile, Kanna said to Migru at her side, "You guys have such a great bond."

Migru smiled as he watched the playful duo up ahead. "Yeah! I'm sure Kanna-chan will find her own companions and forge friendships that are truly her own."
