Transferred to an SSS-rank Production Class

01. Hidden Piece Out of the Blue (1)

For about 10 years, World Towers and Fields have appeared across the globe.

No hunter has yet obtained an S-rank crafting ability.

Except for me.

◆◇◆◇◆

I was just an ordinary C-rank hunter named Yun Gaho.

One day, a hidden piece that rolled into my life changed everything.

Hidden Piece Out of the Blue (1)

Strange phenomena began to occur after tower-shaped mirages suddenly appeared in the capitals of every country worldwide.

The most noticeable was the emergence of awakened individuals called hunters, who could wield special powers. Countless awakened individuals, dreaming of striking it rich, plunged like moths into this unknown world.

[The continued rush of nouveau riche hunters…]

[“I want to be a hunter” – Youth career aspirations rankings flipped]

[Dominating both the hunter and entertainment worlds! Han Jae-i confirmed to appear on HBS’s new variety show]

I too entered the hunter industry, driven by the desire for success.

‘I thought it was my chance to turn my life around.’

But reality was far from easy.

“Silver spoon? I’d be lucky just to make ends meet.”

I sighed, handing a bundle of clovers to the pink-haired girl.

“Thank you, Player!”

[Subquest ‘Charlotte and the Five-Leaf Clover (E)’ has been completed.]

It was the same reaction as always.

Charlotte, the NPC on the 33rd floor.

This girl, searching for a five-leaf clover said to grant wishes for her sick mother, was quite famous for giving quests while sobbing at the entrance of each level.

However, despite her fame, hardly any hunters fulfilled Charlotte’s request.

The tedious quest of finding not a three-leaf or four-leaf, but a five-leaf clover in the vast clover field. Moreover, since the reward wasn’t great, hunters simply ignored Charlotte and moved on.

Before the 33rd floor was cleared, some hunters accepted the quest wondering if Charlotte might be a clue to the main quest.

But after the “Bell of Calling” rang, signaling the floor’s completion, the clover basket rarely filled up.

“It’s not even that difficult, really.”

I accepted Charlotte’s quest purely on a whim.

If there was a reason, it might be the difficulty in brushing off a child clinging to your sleeve. Though annoying, it didn’t take long if I used my skill.

“I’ll pray for your mother’s recovery, Charlotte.”

As I accepted the quest every time I visited the 33rd floor, I became much faster at finding five-leaf clovers than before.

‘I must have filled about 30% of that basket by now, right?’

Today, I even found a six-leaf clover as a bonus. Now, as Charlotte shyly smiles and hands me the potion…

“Player, may I ask for one more favor?”

‘…A favor? This is different from the usual pattern.’

Charlotte fumbled in her pocket and pulled out a letter.

“I found this in Mother’s drawer. There’s an acquaintance of hers living beyond the Rom Plains, whom she hasn’t met in a very long time. Could you deliver this letter to them?”

[Will you accept the Hidden Quest ‘Violetta’s Letter (?)’?

– Clear condition: Deliver the letter

– Time limit: None

– Reward: ???

– Penalty: ???]

“A hidden quest?”

Is this a dream or reality? I was dumbfounded by this sudden stroke of luck.

Hidden quests, which can only be received by fulfilling specific conditions, were famous for their enormous rewards.

‘Rumor has it they’re comparable to main quests…’

Hidden quests were so rare that even on Towers.com, the hunter-exclusive website, it was hard to find reviews. Who would have thought that Charlotte, whom everyone ignored, was an NPC who gave hidden quests!

“See, it pays to be a good person after all!”

Charlotte, you lucky charm! I couldn’t help but hum at this chance to turn my life around.

“Of course. Charlotte, you can count on me!”

“You just need to deliver the letter to Kallos, the blacksmith in Romane Village. I’m counting on you, Player.”

‘I wish there was something we could do about that “Player” title.’

For some reason, NPCs called hunters “Players.”

Being called this way reminded me that these NPCs, who seemed so real, were merely devices arranged by the World Tower system. Moreover, it made the dangerously real field feel trivial, so personally, I disliked the title.

‘Well, there’s no use grumbling about what the World Tower has decided.’

I scratched the back of my head as I took the letter.

“If it’s a blacksmith, maybe the reward will be equipment items?”

Even if you scoured the entire world, there were only two people who could create high-rank equipment of B-rank or above: Rowena Watson from America and Ishikawa Hayato from Japan.

Even then, it was known that A-rank was their limit. Aside from what they occasionally put up for auction, B-rank or higher equipment had to rely on drops, making them incredibly expensive.

“If I get an A-rank item, my fortune would really change.”

‘It would be great if it’s equipment I can use. I’m already self-conscious about being C-rank. No, selling it might be more profitable…’

“Hunter Yun Gaho?”

My happy contemplation was cut short as the party leader called out to me.

Since I couldn’t cross the Rom Plains, where B to E-rank beasts appeared, with my stats alone, I had joined a party that was farming nearby.

“Ah, sorry. I was lost in thought for a moment.”

“We accepted your party request because you’re from ‘Hwangya,’ and thanks to you, Hunter Yun Gaho, we’ve had a comfortable journey.”

“As expected of a large guild member, you’re different. Are you really C-rank?”

“Don’t flatter me too much. I’m not that great. Oh, by the way, Hunter Kim Won-il…”

I hurriedly changed the subject when the guild was mentioned.

What good is being in a large guild? I barely got in thanks to a rare skill.

‘I might have a slightly unusual skill, but I’m still just C-rank.’

I’ve had plenty of time to understand my place over the past few years.

The middling C-rank. That was my position in the guild.

Excluding E and F-rank awakened individuals who were banned from entering the World Tower, it was faster to count my abilities from the bottom up.

In a guild ranked among the top five in our country, it was even more so.

Come to think of it, my contract period was almost up.

‘I wonder… if I’ll be able to renew my contract?’

I sighed quietly, careful not to let the other party members notice.

“We’re going to replenish our items here and then head back to the plains. What are your plans, Hunter Yun Gaho?”

“I need to go because of a quest. Thank you for letting me join your party.”

Kim Won-il, the party leader, held out his hunter watch to exchange contact information. I placed mine next to his in agreement, and a message popped up.

[Registering contact information for Player ‘Kim Won-il’.]

“We plan to farm on the 33rd floor for a while. If you need a party again, feel free to contact us.”

“Ranged DPS is always welcome! Hope to see you again soon!”

It was a warm welcome I rarely received in a guild with many high-ranking hunters. I felt my shoulders straighten a bit.

This is where it gets important.

After parting ways with the group, I immediately headed to the blacksmith shop near the square. At the counter, a middle-aged woman in a one-piece work uniform was dozing off.

“Hello.”

“Huh… um? Welcome. Are you looking for something?”

“I’m here to see Kallos-ssi. Is he in?”

“Kallos? There’s no one by that name in our smithy.”

This is the only blacksmith shop in Romane Village. Could this be turning into a long-term quest? Cold sweat broke out from the tension.

“I was definitely told it was Kallos, the blacksmith of Romane.”

The woman thought for a long moment before clapping her hands as if something had occurred to her.

“I’m not sure if he’s a blacksmith, but there’s an eccentric by that name living south of the square. I sometimes hear hammer sounds from there. Could that be him?”

Phew, what a relief. I felt my chest lighten at the woman’s words. I heard that high-ranking quests can sometimes turn into long-term ones, but it seemed luck was on my side.

Thanks to her kindly drawn map, I was able to reach Kallos’s house without getting lost.

The small house at the end of the southern alley was modest, but the owner’s aesthetic sense was evident. From the fence to the garden, and even the mailbox, everything showed signs of careful selection.

“Hmm, they called him eccentric, but he seems to have good taste.”

Knock knock!

“Is anyone home?”

Did they not hear me? This time, I knocked on the door with my fist, making a louder sound.

“Kallos-ssi, letter delivery!”

Is he not home? Just as I was about to sit down on the ground, thinking I should wait a bit longer…

The door opened silently, and a large man who didn’t match the modest house appeared abruptly.
