Chapter 99: Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, Buer

After a long moment, Kenji finally let go of Buer. The Forbidden Knowledge had been completely sucked out; not a trace remained.

Buer felt dizzy. But aside from that, her body felt incredibly light. The Forbidden Knowledge was gone without a trace.

Forbidden Knowledge: Sayonara, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. I hope you enjoyed your role in the play for the last few hundred years.

"How do you feel?" Kenji asked. "There shouldn't be any Forbidden Knowledge left now, right?"

Buer calmed her heart and sensed both herself and Irminsul. The Forbidden Knowledge that had plagued her for so long was truly, completely gone.

"How did you do that?" Her eyes were filled with an insatiable curiosity. Kenji showed no signs of the Forbidden Knowledge's aura. It hadn't just been transferred to a new host; it had been completely erased from the world. It was too magical. Was it really the effect of a kiss?

"I sucked it over, and then I ate it," Kenji stated simply.

"It was that simple?" Greater Lord Rukkhadevata hadn't expected such a plain and unadorned answer. That was the Forbidden Knowledge, a substance that troubled even the gods. How could it sound like a common little snack coming from his mouth?

It was worse than a snack, Kenji thought. It didn't even taste good.

"Buer, you should be able to create a body for yourself now, right?" Kenji looked toward Irminsul. As its avatar, even if only a sliver of her consciousness remained, creating a body using the World Tree should be no problem.

"Yes. With the Forbidden Knowledge gone, I can return."

Translucent green leaves fell from Irminsul and merged into Buer's body. Her form, which had been illusory, began to solidify and grow. Before long, a mature Greater Lord Rukkhadevata appeared, her aura one of profound gentleness. She was dressed in a white strapless gown adorned with golden patterns. Green, vine-like markings spread from her chest to her neck and shoulders like a necklace, radiating an aura of life.

Elysia stared at Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's long ears. I really want to touch them. I wonder what they feel like?

"My power is not what it was..." Buer said, unsurprised. She was just a sliver of consciousness. Even without the Forbidden Knowledge, she would need a long time to recover. Although she could still access Irminsul, her current combat strength was not yet at an Archon's level. Still, if one could live, who would want to die?

"So beautiful ♪," Elysia said, hugging Buer's arm. She loved it, she loved it. Kenji's taste was impeccable.

What's Kenji's is mine, hehehe~ It's mine, it's all mine.

"Um..." Buer felt a bit awkward. The last person to hug her this intimately was the Goddess of Flowers, Nabu. They both had that "social butterfly" trait.

"Buer, my name is Elysia. You can call me Ellie ♪!" Elysia let her go. There was plenty of time. No need to rush; she would take it slow.

"Hydro Archon," Buer said, turning to Furina and gesturing toward the sky. "Now that you have power from beyond this world, what do you intend to do?"

"That... well... if Celestia makes a move against Fontaine in the future, I will not sit by and watch." Those who offend Fontaine will be punished, no matter how far. As for becoming the new Heavenly Principles, Furina had no such thoughts. After acting for five hundred years, what she wanted now was a "lie flat" lifestyle.

"And what about you, First Dendro Archon?" Furina asked in return. "Will you replace Lesser Lord Kusanali and continue to rule Sumeru?"

"Me? I have no such intention." She had long since retired. After working so hard for so many years, couldn't she finally enjoy herself? Buer knew that if she were to show herself, the people's support would be overwhelming. The people of Sumeru would have no objections to her ruling again. That was the kind of authority she held.

"The Lesser Lord is currently imprisoned. What do you plan to do, Buer?" Kenji asked with interest. His opinion of Nahida had been fine, but her letting Scaramouche enter Irminsul... he really didn't know what to say about that. If it had been Rukkhadevata, would Scaramouche even have been qualified? Letting a war criminal into such an important place... tsk, tsk, tsk. If word of that got out, Archons like Zhongli would surely frown. Perhaps Sumeru lacked fighting power, but that was not the right way to go about it.

"Nahida..." Buer knew, of course, but it gave her a headache. She was baffled. She didn't understand. Was Nahida just that incompetent, or were the successive Grand Sages just that formidable? Five hundred years... she had been locked up for five hundred years. It was unbelievable.

[Star Forger]: @Dian Mei Ruan Ruan Mei, do you have Dr. Ratio's contact information?

Professor, I have a job for you. A student who's over five hundred years old. Wisdom is the enemy of the God of Wisdom, after all.

As for why he wasn't asking someone else, it was because Professor Ratio could scold someone until they cried.

[Dian Mei Ruan]: Dr. Ratio's contact info? Asta should have it.

Professor Ratio was a member of the Intelligentsia Guild and cooperated with the Corporation. With Asta's background, it was normal for her to have his contact details.

[Dian Mei Ruan]: What's wrong? Is it something Herta and I can't solve?

Not asking the Genius Club, but the Intelligentsia Guild?

[Star Forger]: There's a certain little friend who needs to learn the skills to properly govern a country.

Kenji had another idea. If he had Omphalos's Klythie and Hyacine teach her, what would Nahida transform into? The Tsaritsa of Sumeru? Her first act upon returning would be to purge the Akademiya.

Akademiya: Don't come over here!

[Dian Mei Ruan]: I'll have Asta ask him.

[Ghost of the Uchiha]: If you have experience in governing a country, send me a copy too. Konoha has no one competent left.

Madara was disappointed. Hashirama, it seems not every Hokage has your strength. They can't even dance. Only with Hashirama could he have a truly exhilarating battle.

[Star Forger]: Madara, you move fast. Have you already dealt with Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others?

[Ghost of the Uchiha]: I've hung them all on the lampposts.

Even if there were still hidden masterminds in the ninja world, Madara was fearless. After all, there were powerful figures in the group.

Are you using the King of Lampposts' throne to hang people?

[Gudako]: That's right! Capitalists should be hung on lampposts!

Especially the developers of gacha games. They should all be hung on lampposts. When she lost the 50/50, it wasn't a problem with her luck; it was a problem with the game developers. They should reflect on themselves and ask if they've been working seriously all these years.

"Buer, I've found a teacher for Nahida," Kenji said. Professor Ratio probably wouldn't be driven to death by Nahida's foolishness. After all, she was the God of Wisdom.

"By the way," he continued, "what if, in the future, Nahida brings an irrelevant person into the space of Irminsul, and that person even alters the information within? What would you think of that?"

"Nonsense! Absurd! How could an irrelevant person be brought into Irminsul's space?!" Buer frowned and replied without a second thought. That was too outrageous. The importance of Irminsul was self-evident. The reason Kenji and the others could enter was that Irminsul had calculated that they were not to be provoked; even without coming here, they had the power to destroy Teyvat.

The kind of thing Kenji described was something the Seven Archons would absolutely never permit, especially unilaterally altering Irminsul's information. That was a taboo act. Even the Goddess of Flowers had once wanted to see what Irminsul looked like, and Buer hadn't allowed it. It was her duty.

"Would Nahida really do that?" Buer asked. She hadn't anticipated such a thing could happen. Five hundred years had passed; did she still not understand this simple principle?

Even a person as gentle as Buer was angry now. What Kenji described was simply too absurd.

"Without our interference, that's how things would have developed," Kenji said.

"Sigh... My situation back then didn't allow for it," Buer sighed deeply. "Otherwise, I would have certainly taught her properly." This was partly her fault as well.
