Toriko: Gourmet Chat Group

Chapter 155: The World-Touring Ape King

Teyvat, Liyue Harbor.

"Zhongli, are you saying we can't get out?"

Lumine had received a message from Zhongli, and the moment they met, she was told this. She didn't know what to say. The sky is falling! She was trapped in Teyvat. Could this be her final stop?

Furina's inner thought: It's fine. The false sky may have fallen, but there's still my multi-layered amber crystal wall.

"Generally speaking, that is the case."

"The Hydro Archon of Fontaine has forged many walls outside of Teyvat, making its current defenses terrifyingly strong, but at the same time, making entry and exit countless times more difficult," Zhongli nodded.

An ordinary person wouldn't notice, but a god like him could naturally sense Furina's movements. That unfamiliar power... it seemed the Hydro Archon of Fontaine had obtained a power from beyond this world sufficient to rival the world itself, though it wasn't a corrupting power like that of the Abyss. Celestia had been silent. It was unknown if those beings were slumbering or if they had their own concerns.

"So if I want to leave Teyvat in the future, I have to go and register with the Hydro Archon of Fontaine first?" Lumine's mouth twitched. Was this Hydro Archon crazy? She understood what Zhongli was saying: she hadn't just built one wall.

Can my spaceship break through it?

"More or less. The Hydro Archon's actions are beneficial to Teyvat. There is no loss, at least for a very long time," Zhongli nodded. Outside the false sky, there were now many layers of crystal walls even stronger than the sky itself. The defensive power was truly top-notch. Descenders were already as rare as phoenix feathers; in the future, it was unlikely that any new ones would appear in Teyvat.

At the port, friends from all over the Human World had come to see them off.

"It's so lively. We're not too late, are we?" Kenji and Atashino were the last to arrive.

"Not late at all. We're in no hurry. It's been a year since we last saw you," Toriko said with a laugh. They had met in the Gourmet World a year ago, when Kenji had been visiting home.

"This Octopus Watermelon is quite peculiar," Kenji said, looking at the giant Camping Monster. Although a Camping Monster wasn't of much use to a powerhouse—their own travel speed was faster—having a mobile camp like this made resting much more comfortable.

The Octopus Watermelon, Capture Level 265. He just didn't know if it tasted like watermelon or octopus. Kenji was a little curious; he had never eaten a Camping Monster before.

"!"

Just as Kenji had this thought, the wild intuition of the Octopus Watermelon told it that a flash of danger had just passed by.

"Tina said that this kind of monster can hide its appearance, reducing its chances of being discovered and attacked by other beasts. The old man prepared it for us," Toriko said.

This left them speechless. The old man was really looking out for them.

"You guys take your time. We'll wait for you in the Gourmet World's Seventh Area," Kenji said, then vanished along with Atashino and the others, using his spatial power.

"Hiss... I forgot Kenji had that trick. If I had known, I would have asked him to take us along," Toriko said, scratching his head. Kenji's method was certainly more convenient.

"Let's set off. We can still encounter a lot of gourmet food on the way," Coco smiled.

Their route would take them through Yutou Island, across the Eighth Area, and then to the Seventh Area. Although the Octopus Watermelon was a Camping Monster, its level was too low to cross the Poison Tide, so they had to take a detour.

As their friends watched, the Octopus Watermelon disappeared from sight.

Gourmet World, Seventh Area, at the foot of the 100G Mountains.

A shadow fell over the group. They looked up to see a giant object flying at high speed through the air.

"What is that thing?" Melk the Second asked, her jaw dropping.

"A toy used by the Ape King Bambina to pass the time. It's a Gourmet World specialty, the Skipping Mountain," Kenji explained with a laugh. "In about a week, it will circle the globe and return here."

"Terrifying," Melk the Second swallowed hard. The mountain that had just flown past was over a thousand meters high by her estimate, and its speed had already reached Mach levels. What kind of monstrous strength was that?

"Hmm?"

Kenji's eyebrow rose. He sensed a powerful aura. A creature shorter than himself had appeared not far in front of him. From its posture alone, you could tell it was terrifyingly strong.

Atashino and Melk the Second broke out in a cold sweat, shocked by its astonishing presence. They didn't need Kenji to tell them what this creature was: the Ape King Bambina.

Ah—ee—

Bambina saw Kenji and came hopping over, an excited smile on its face, like it had just found a new toy.

Kenji shook his head. Bambina, you've shown up too early.

"ZA WARUDO!!"

"Ape Dance Secret Art—Hibernation Knocking!"

POW!

Kenji stopped time and delivered a sharp elbow strike to the Ape King Bambina, instantly putting it into a baby-like sleep.

The invincible Ape King... has been grounded~

It would probably sleep for about a week. Kenji thought for a moment, then lifted Bambina up. It was only 1.5 meters tall, yet it weighed 25 tons. One could only imagine its internal energy reserves. And this was just the Ape King's base form. When it shed its outer skin, its true power would be unleashed.

Swoosh!

Kenji disappeared with the Ape King and returned a second later. Bambina was gone.

"Kenji, where did you send Bambina?" Atashino asked curiously.

Kenji smiled and said, "I put him on the Skipping Mountain. By the time Toriko and the others arrive, the Ape King should be getting back here too."

A world tour, Bambina. I hope you enjoy this global trip that's just for you.

The mountain would be worn down into a small pebble, but Bambina would be completely unharmed.

Atashino was speechless. For some reason, she felt a little sorry for the Ape King.

You don't actually need to feel sorry for the Ape King. If it were awake, it would probably find this very amusing.

Drip, drip—

Moisture was rapidly being expelled from their bodies. Kenji and the others were streaming tears because they had arrived at the Sandoriko Flower Field.

Fields of Sandoriko flowers grew here—black, spiky, sea-urchin-like spherical flowers with sausage-like mouths. This was a very special ingredient. Its pollen could cause anyone who inhaled it to have all the water in their body drained within seconds, after which they would die and turn into a mummy. The creatures living on this continent were terrified of this plant; the fear was even carved into their genes.

"Hmm, it tastes pretty good. A deadly creature, but you can find the antidote within three steps of it. The ancients did not lie to me," Kenji remarked. Most people wouldn't think of it, because the rapid loss of water from their bodies would make it impossible to think straight.

Long ago, Acacia and a Blue Nitro had inhaled the Sandoriko pollen and had only survived by consuming each other. One could imagine how powerful it was. However, if you just put up an energy shield beforehand, you wouldn't inhale the pollen in the first place.

"We almost died," Atashino said with a sigh of relief after eating the flower. Once you inhaled the pollen, you couldn't stop the water from flowing out of your body. It was completely uncontrollable.
