Chapter 123: Arriving at Chaldea
Inside Chaldea.
In an endless sea of fire, giant stones were falling everywhere. The space was filled with scorching heat, and the very air was searing hot.
"Senpai, are you alright?"
The smell of burnt flesh permeated the air. A pink-haired girl and an orange-haired girl were pinned beneath a giant boulder, their blood flowing across the ground and mixing together, indistinguishable.
"Not good at all. I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die! Why isn't Kenji here yet?!" Gudako forced a smile, her face pale.
"Ritsuka, didn't I tell you there was going to be an explosion? How did you get pinned?"
When Kenji arrived in this world and saw the little eggplant Mash and Gudako, Ritsuka Fujimaru, trapped under a boulder, he was a little confused. Now they were truly sisters in suffering. Was this a convergence of the timeline? At least Mash had a companion this time.
"Cough, cough... I had them run a check. It was supposed to be fine, but it exploded anyway," Gudako said, grinding her teeth in anger. Lev! So you're the Grand Bomber, huh? Don't let me see you, or I'll have Kenji smash your head in!
"Alright, alright. I'll get you out of there first."
BOOM!
Kenji bent down, grabbed the massive fallen rock with one hand, and effortlessly tossed it aside.
So satisfying!
The "me" who just watched the anime couldn't do anything. The "me" now can do anything. He had finally done what he most wanted to do when he first saw this scene.
Mash stared in awe. Was this the kind of power a human could possess? Was he a dragon in human form?
"Aaaah! It's over! I can't feel my legs! Am I going to be paralyzed from the waist down?!" Gudako screamed, a cry so pitiful it would make any listener's heart ache and any witness shed a tear.
"Your voice is still pretty loud. Looks like you're not dead yet," Kenji nodded.
"Are you here to help?"
Kenji saw a Heroic Spirit. It was Galahad, the one who would form a contract with Mash, giving her his own Spirit Origin and Noble Phantasm. Kenji didn't interfere; he knew Galahad wouldn't harm Mash.
Galahad nodded, knelt before Mash, and performed a knight's courtesy, seeming to communicate something to her.
Kenji turned to look at Gudako and gave her a wicked smile.
Now then, let time rewind!
"Mmmph—"
A clock face appeared out of thin air, and the power of time began to act on Gudako's body. Her body twitched and convulsed uncontrollably, as if she were on drugs (a reference to Tsukasa Kadoya).
"Pfft, hahaha!" Kenji clutched his stomach, laughing. Tsukasa hadn't experienced this yet; otherwise, he could send this to him to remind him of his dark history. He had to record this, record Gudako's abstract meme-worthy moment.
He could have used Healing Water. Although Gudako didn't have Gourmet Cells, it would still have been effective. But he really wanted to see this convulsing scene for himself.
"Anti-Summoning System, activate."
"Commencing Spiriton Conversion."
"Spiriton Transfer begins in 3... 2... 1..."
"All processes complete. Commencing verification. First Order."
Kenji felt a special power about to send Gudako and Mash somewhere. So this was a Rayshift. Although he didn't have Gudako's unique constitution, he wasn't without options. He would place a marker and travel through space-time to the Singularity. Time to watch the show.
[Star Forger]: @Ahoge King Artoria, give me one of your personal items. I'll summon you for fun later.
It was more interesting to have her fight herself, after all.
[Ahoge King]: Would a strand of hair work?
Artoria didn't have many personal belongings. A strand of hair, something so closely tied to her, should be fine.
[Star Forger]: Is it that ahoge?
[Ahoge King]: Of course not! How could I possibly pull out the glory of a king?
Artoria touched her ahoge. Even if she were starving, she would never harm her ahoge.
[Star Forger]: What a shame. But Artoria, you should try pulling out your ahoge. An interesting change might occur.
[Ahoge King]: Impossible.
Kenji cackled. Next time I time-stop you, I'm pulling out that ahoge. But for now, he had to find Ritsuka and the others.
Using the coordinates, Kenji began to travel through space-time. Although the chat group could do it, Gudako was likely unconscious right now.
"This is..."
Gudako looked at the post-apocalyptic, ruin-like scene. Smoke billowed, and flames shot into the sky. The entire city seemed to be on fire. She was confused. Where was she?
"A Singularity. This is Fuyuki City."
Kenji patted the dust off his clothes. He had almost overshot his destination.
"Kenji! You're here! This is great!" Gudako said, delighted.
"Don't celebrate too early. Is this a greeting?" Kenji said, squinting as a rain of red arrows descended upon them. "Then I'll have to return the favor."
Gudako understood immediately. An enemy. They had no martial honor!
A bow appeared in Kenji's hand. He condensed an arrow of starlight and, with a swoosh, let it fly.
"Starfall!"
The starlight arrow streaked across the sky, instantly shattering the rain of red arrows. You think you're some big-shot streamer's gifted rocket? The collision did little to weaken Kenji's arrow. It transformed into a giant star in the sky and, filled with the wrath of the cosmos, crashed down on the figure on the distant rooftop.
BOOM!
With a massive roar, the building was shattered and razed to the ground. It didn't matter; there was no one in the city now anyway.
"Did he get away?" Kenji wasn't surprised. He had learned a trick or two with the bow from Elysia. The bow in his hand was a Noble Phantasm he had drawn: Pincer Attack Formation (Altered). That's right, that notoriously underhanded Noble Phantasm. His version was an EX-ranked enhanced version. It wasn't limited to sacrificing teammates; as long as he could catch an enemy, he could sacrifice them instead, and it wasn't limited to just Heroic Spirits. He felt that using this Noble Phantasm would make his integrity vanish forever. The reason Gudako was so envious of him was because he had gotten a "golden" reward more than once.
"Senpai, are you alright?"
"Eh? Mash, what's with that outfit?" Gudako's eyes widened. It looked like something from a fetish shop, showing off Mash's figure to the fullest. It was very sensual. But... hehehe, a sexy eggplant. I like her even more now~
"This is, uh, because of that Heroic Spirit's Spirit Origin," Mash said, blushing with embarrassment. To be honest, she wasn't used to these clothes either. It was quite humiliating, but it was an irresistible force. She felt like she would have a wardrobe malfunction at any moment during a fight.
"It's fine! It's great!" Gudako gave her a thumbs-up, rubbing her nose. She hadn't gotten a nosebleed. It seemed her self-control was pretty good.
"Thank you for saving us earlier," Mash said, bowing to Kenji. If they had been on their own, it would have been very difficult to get out from under that heavy boulder.
"It's nothing. Ritsuka is our good friend. Of course, I had to come and help," Kenji said with a wave of his hand.
"This is my big bro, Mash," Gudako said proudly, puffing out her chest.
Stelle's inner thought: Then what should I call you?
