Toriko: Gourmet Chat Group

Chapter 103: One-Shot

"Beelzebul, I'll—"

CLANG—

Get sealed in the stone statue!

"Argh!"

On this day, Scaramouche remembered the terror of being dominated by the Raiden Shogun. Even at full power, he couldn't resist a single slash of the Musou no Hitotachi. He had just been about to let fly a stream of beautiful Inazuman hometown curses.

She drew her blade. He was one-shot.

She couldn't be bothered with trash talk...

Unlike a god like the Lesser Lord Kusanali who was unskilled in combat, Raiden Ei had served as the kagemusha (body double) back when Raiden Makoto was still the Raiden Shogun. Her sister was watching now. She had to be serious. The Raiden Shogun puppet had taken a beating for her this time, but it wouldn't be as easy to have the puppet sub in for her next time. She had to make a good showing.

The might of lightning purifies all sin.

Scaramouche: Gasp! You weren't using this much power when you were about to cut down Kazuha's friend!

Scaramouche vanished within the flash of lightning. Even the Fatui's Delusion factory was annihilated by Ei's single slash. If she hadn't controlled her power, another Musoujin Gorge would have been carved into Inazuma's map.

Scaramouche, a puppet created by the Raiden Shogun, was ultimately ended by a slash from the Raiden Shogun. A fitting end.

"Any objections?" Ei turned to face the direction of Snezhnaya. Her red lips parted slightly as she spoke, the Musou Isshin pointed towards the wintery nation, her domineering aura leaking out.

As he was an Executive Harbinger, the Cryo Archon, the Tsaritsa, was watching. Raiden Ei was also a little curious about the Cryo Archon's strength. It had been many years since she had crossed swords with a god-level powerhouse, and her hands were getting itchy.

There was no response. The Tsaritsa withdrew her gaze. There was no need to fight the Raiden Shogun over Scaramouche. Scaramouche was offed. Should the Fatui hold a memorial service?

Ei was a little disappointed she didn't get to have a match with the Cryo Archon.

"Lady Guuji, what can I do for you?" Kamisato Ayato asked, a warm, spring-like smile on his face.

Kenji looked at Ayato. Those white pants looked a bit familiar. Although there were some differences, still... Is this really not Otto Apocalypse, re-employed in another world, who just forgot to change his pants? The same elegance and composure, the same cunning mind, and a similar voice. Kamisato Ayaka's voice was also very similar to Rita's. What a coincidence. Otto and Rita are in the same organization; Ayato and Ayaka are siblings. Otto = Ayato?

"Kamisato boy, you can drop that smile," Yae Miko pursed her lips. "I've called you here to arrange a good errand for you." This kid was annoying. He was definitely scheming something right now.

"Kenji, you have to promise you'll come back," Raiden Ei said reluctantly when she heard Kenji was returning to his own world. Anyone who knew the details knew this was because of Raiden Makoto.

"I know, I know. I'll come back to get more when I run out of The Hour of Judgment," Kenji nodded. He would visit the other nations later.

Yae Miko broke into a cold sweat. Good lord, is that pot even edible?

"Ja ne."

Kenji left through a spatial vortex. Elysia had already left a step ahead of him to go get some Kaslana cuisine for him.

Kevin's inner thought: People actually ask for that stuff to eat?

"Herta, nice work."

When he returned home, the house was sparkling clean. It was obvious someone had been tidying up these past few days. It was over. The little Herta puppet was so capable, he was going to be spoiled into a useless person. It was all the big Herta's fault for giving the little Herta puppet such a comprehensive set of skills.

Big Herta: ?

"Miss Atashino also helped clean," the Herta puppet said flatly.

Kenji nodded. She had probably returned to the Land of Healing by now.

Besides Raiden Makoto's consciousness, while wandering through Konda Village, he had also found a soul fragment of a "white-haired fox hero." He had saved Kazari on a whim. He truly was a partner of justice.

[Melk the Second]: {Toriko and the others are here. They've already gone down the Snake Den to look for Melk's Stardust.}

He saw the message from a few days ago on his phone. It was from Melk the Second. Komatsu's kitchen knife must have broken; otherwise, Toriko would have gone to find other ingredients.

[Kenji]: {Got it. If they want to forge new knives, you can help them out first.}

Normally, Komatsu would have to wait a long time for a new knife, as there were many people ahead of him in the queue.

"Herta, come with me for a bit. We're going to find Atashino."

"Lotta, gogogo! Let's go! To the Land of Healing!"

Awooo!

Sitting on the back of the Battle Wolf was like riding lightning. A white flash streaked through the mountains, so fast that a normal high-speed camera couldn't capture it. Because he was moving so quickly, Lotta began to run directly on the surface of the sea, not sinking at all.

Destination: the Land of Healing.

That was a truly exhilarating sprint. Kenji patted Lotta's leg. The speed at which these Battle Wolves grew stronger was like a rocket. He couldn't bring Lotta into the Land of Healing; it was too big and looked too fierce.

"Kenji, you're back?"

Atashino's home was a simple treehouse, with no clutter—just books and medical tools.

"Just got back. Come on, let's go capture the Surprise Apple." Kenji had brought a good treat for the Surprise Apple; he wondered how effective it would be.

Atashino nodded.

Boom! Boom! Boom!—

As soon as they arrived at Battle Island, they heard the massive, interwoven noise of various weapons firing. You basically couldn't see any birds or beasts resting on this island.

The Surprise Apple only bears fruit once a year. This season was the time to capture it, and the "Skygazing Festival" held to scare the apples attracted tens of thousands of people every year. The roar of various guns and cannons never ceased, day or night. Kenji and Atashino had arrived just as the fruit was ripening, so it wasn't as noisy as it would be later in the festival.

"Little sister Atashino, what a rare sight. I didn't expect to see you here."

A woman in a red kimono with her hair pinned up walked over. On her forehead and neck, one could see nail-like ornaments.

Knocking.

Kenji could tell at a glance that these "nails" were a Knocking technique used to seal one's own power. Jiro had many such nails on his body; only when they were all removed did the true "Rampaging Beast" Jirou appear.

"Big Sis Tsurara?" Atashino was slightly taken aback. This was Tsurara, ranked 31st among the world's chefs and also a highly skilled Gourmet Hunter.

"Is this little sister Atashino's boyfriend?" Tsurara looked at Kenji and nodded in approval. "Good taste. A young powerhouse like this is truly rare."

Kenji wasn't completely unknown anymore. While not as famous as the Four Heavenly Kings, he wasn't far off.

"He's my partner," Atashino said, though a blush appeared on her face under her mask.

"Is that so?" Tsurara said with a knowing smile. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Don't think I don't know that male and female partners often end up together in the end. Just look at that legendary pair, Setsuno and Jiro.

"My name is Kenji. I'm Atashino's partner," Kenji nodded.

"Hello. If you have time, you can stop by Izakaya Tsurara for a visit. Since you're little sister Atashino's partner, I can personally cook for you," Tsurara smiled, then walked toward the Surprise Apples and began to intimidate them.

"Atashino, how do you know her?"

"Big Sis Tsurara came to the Land of Healing to relax once, and we met then. We've seen each other a few times since. Her strength is nothing to scoff at, and her cooking is excellent," Atashino explained.

"A chef doesn't just need to cook well, they also have to be able to fight."

"A chef who can't fight is not a qualified chef," Kenji couldn't help but quip. This was especially true for the top ten on the World Chef Ranking; any one of them was an incredible fighter.

Chef: If you're not easy to cook, I also happen to know a thing or two about fisticuffs.

"Uh... that does seem to be the case." Atashino thought about the chefs she knew. Putting their culinary skills aside, none of them were weak. If they needed an ingredient that required a Gourmet Hunter to capture, they could just do it themselves. They were the epitome of self-reliance. For many chefs, being a Gourmet Hunter was their side job.
