Chapter 101: Trade a Fox for a Sister?

"Cough, cough..."

Dottore lay at the edge of the crater, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His mask was half-shattered, and he was completely immobilized.

Is this for real?

The Hydro Archon hadn't even moved. A pink-haired woman had just blown him away. His shorts were almost blasted off.

Is this for real? Whose arrows are that powerful?

According to protocol, wasn't it supposed to be greetings first, violence later?

Elysia: No one said you can't do violence first, greetings later.

"The Doctor, Dottore. You dare to follow us? Do you have too many segments to spare?" Kenji said coolly. "Are you prepared to make an enemy of us?"

Being without intel was a huge disadvantage. Hadn't The Knave, Arlecchino, said anything to him?

The Knave's inner thoughts: Is there such a good thing? If I had known, I would have tricked a few more segments into going to Sumeru to send them off to meet the previous 'Knave'.

"I admit defeat," the Doctor had nothing more to say. These people were just too vigilant.

"I'll seal you away for five hundred years."

A meteor fell from the sky, pinning the Doctor beneath it. Then again, could one of the Doctor's segments even live for five hundred years? Oh well, if it dies, it dies. There were plenty more where that came from. For a dead segment, how long would the Fatui halt work to mourn?

The problems in Fontaine were more or less settled. Furina would go have a nice chat with the All-Devouring Narwhal later. If Skirk appeared, Furina would go with her to pay a personal "visit" to the Surtalogi. Sumeru's issues were also indirectly resolved; Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's methods were not like the Lesser Lord's. After this, they would go to Inazuma, and its problems would be solved too.

It seemed that Lumine was getting a free win this time. Well, at least this way she'd have more time for farming materials.

You're welcome, blonde auntie.

Inazuma. Before the Tenshukaku, at the scene of a duel before the throne.

Raiden Ei slowly strode forward. Her purple braid hung down her back, its end glowing with divine light. Her pale violet eyes were cold and majestic, and the beauty mark under her right eye added a certain charm.

A young, blond man in a red, crested haori and hakama stood directly before the might of the Raiden Shogun, Beelzebul. Though the previous battle had left him exhausted, his eyes held no fear, only the resolve of one who had cast everything aside.

The Musou no Hitotachi was coming. The pinnacle of the Raiden Shogun's martial arts.

Hah—

Kazuha's friend took a deep breath. That slash... it wasn't necessarily beyond his reach. Let me test my blade.

The Musou Isshin pulsed with the might of lightning. The Raiden Shogun walked forward slowly, her face devoid of emotion, like an automaton.

"ZA—WARU—DO—!"

The sound of a clock's hands ticking filled the air. The world froze. Time stopped flowing.

"Heh, Musou Isshin acquired," Kenji appeared, casually taking the katana from the Raiden Shogun's hand. The time-stop skill really was useful.

The Vision Hunt Decree had only just been announced. In the original story, when Lumine was about to leave Liyue, Zhongli had mentioned that the decree was passed last year. This must be the scene where Kazuha's friend dueled the Raiden Shogun. Why didn't you try to fight a Tiance-class general instead?

"The power of time... Who are you?"

The Musou Isshin suddenly glowed, and a surprised voice came from within it. Kenji was a little surprised but found it acceptable. It was impossible that Baal had no connection to the God of Time.

"Who am I? Elysia's boyfriend, and the future King Consort of Sumeru's Greater Lord Rukkhadevata," Kenji said after a moment's thought. Though, speaking of which, Elysia had been very reluctant to leave Buer, practically wanting to drag her along. Sigh, whose harem is this, really?

"..."

Evidently, Raiden Makoto was stunned. She didn't know who Elysia was, but she certainly knew Buer. They were on good terms. Greater Lord Rukkhadevata is getting married?

Just then, the time-stop ended, and the world resumed its flow.

"Hand over the Musou Isshin," the Raiden Shogun said, frowning. How did her sword end up in Kenji's hands? Had she been disconnected from her surroundings for a moment?

"Raiden Shogun... you don't want to be unable to see Raiden Makoto again, do you?"

The people of Inazuma: Why does that line sound so familiar?

Raiden Makoto: Don't dox me!

"...How do you know that name?" The look in the Raiden Shogun's eyes changed. Compared to her previous blankness, her eyes were now more lively and spirited.

Kenji knew that Raiden Ei, the shut-in, had logged on. As expected, mentioning Raiden Makoto was the perfect bait to lure out Raiden Ei.

"Alright now, everyone disperse, disperse! That's all for today," a charming voice rang out. The pink-haired auntie, Yae Miko, made her entrance, waving at the onlookers. "Little fellow, your courage is commendable. Take your Vision and leave."

Thank goodness she arrived in time, otherwise a real fight would have broken out. A battle like that would have ground Inazuma to dust.

Raiden Makoto sighed. My little fox has grown so much. She used to be just a little hand-warmer. Now she was a devastatingly beautiful woman.

No one in Inazuma didn't recognize Yae Miko. Although they were curious about what would happen next, they all began to leave. The onrushing Kaedehara Kazuha saw that his friend was still alive and breathed a sigh of relief.

After the group entered the Tenshukaku, Raiden Ei asked again, "How do you know that name?"

"My, my. The great star of Fontaine, Lady Furina, the Hydro Archon. To think you would leave Fontaine to visit Inazuma?" Yae Miko, however, was looking at Furina. Unlike the shut-in, she certainly recognized her.

"The Hydro Archon?" Raiden Ei frowned. Under normal circumstances, gods did not enter the lands protected by other gods by default.

"I haven't left Fontaine in hundreds of years. Can't I go out for a walk?" Furina said, full of righteous confidence. She could speak with a straight back now.

"Of course, you can. It's just that for a person of your esteemed status, for us to not have sent someone to receive you in advance makes it seem as if Inazuma lacks hospitality," Yae Miko smiled. What the hell? This Hydro Archon's aura... it's even more terrifying than our local country bumpkin's! She knew how skilled her own god was in martial arts. While not invincible, she should have been stronger than the Hydro Archon.

Elysia looked at Raiden Ei with a surprised expression. She looked so much like the Dr. MEI she knew. But what made her even more curious was how she could pull a sword from her chest. It was so cool! Can you let me try pulling it out? For some reason, she was quite captivated by Raiden Ei's mature, wife-like face. It would be even better if she had horns on her head.

"Raiden Makoto, aren't you going to say something now?" Kenji asked, looking at the Musou Isshin.

"!"

Ei and Miko's eyes widened. My sister / Lady Makoto is still alive?

"Sigh..." A helpless sigh was heard, and an illusory shadow floated out of the Musou Isshin. She wore a white and purple kimono and had a face almost identical to Ei's, only gentler. How could Ei and Miko not recognize her?

Baal, Raiden Makoto, Ei's older sister, the first Raiden Shogun of Inazuma.

"Thank you, honored guest, for stabilizing this wisp of my will," Makoto said, looking at her own hands. This will was originally meant just for a final meeting with Ei, but now it seemed it could last for a very long time.

"Sister... are you still alive?" Ei's voice trembled, tears silently streaming down her face. Five hundred years ago, the moment she saw Makoto's body... she couldn't do anything.

"I suppose I'm alive... I just don't have a body," Makoto said, uncertain herself.

"I can build the best body for you, sister!" Ei said quickly. Hearing Makoto's voice, seeing her face, she really didn't want to lose her again. She had experience in building bodies. She would even use her own body if she had to.

The Raiden Shogun puppet: Then what about us?

"Ei, my will is currently being sustained by this gentleman. A body... is not necessary for the time being," Makoto said with a helpless smile.

"What do you want?" Ei said, looking at Kenji seriously. "As long as you can preserve my sister, I can promise you anything. It's no problem even if you want Miko."

Trading Miko for her sister. A fair deal.

"Hey, hey, hey! What are you saying, you blockhead?!" Hearing her god selling her out, Miko's fox fur bristled. "Why don't you offer yourself instead?!" What kind of terrible friend was this, backstabbing her sisters at a critical moment? She just wanted to ask, what other god sells their own dependents?

Ei looked away. Miko... for Makoto's sake, you'll just have to bear with it for a bit. As the one with the purest Hakushin bloodline, it was time for her to take responsibility for continuing the clan. Two birds with one stone.
