Top-tier Unruly Master

Chapter 664: Didn't Dare to Fart

The second day. In the hospital, in Liang Si En's ward.

"Why haven't you left yet? Didn't I tell you yesterday to leave quickly?" At this moment, a middle-aged man wearing glasses spoke to Li Shuying's aunt in an annoyed tone.

"I... I..." Li Shuying's aunt was at a loss for words.

When Ding Fan left yesterday, he had taken care to allow them to stay for one night. In fact, Ding Fan had already cured Liang Si En's injured leg, and herbs had stabilized the internal bleeding. If they had left the hospital yesterday, there would have been no problem.

Li Shuying's mother indeed didn't understand why Ding Fan wanted them to stay another night.

"My cousin was beaten up, and he still has injuries on his body..." Li Shuying stood up at this moment, wanting to help her aunt speak up.

However, the man with glasses simply waved his hand, cutting off Li Shuying's words. "I am the Vice Director of this hospital, I don't care what your situation is, all I know is, our hospital is not accepting you."

After the man with glasses finished speaking, he directed his words toward the corridor outside. "Who was on duty yesterday? Get all the doctors and nurses who were on duty over here."

As he called out, there were already bootlickers in the corridor who had scurried off to find the doctors and nurses who were on duty the previous day.

Shortly after, Doctor Tian, who had made a promise to Ding Fan yesterday, and that nurse who loved to roll her eyes, walked in from outside.

"Director Wu..." Doctor Tian, upon entering, saw the man with glasses at first glance.

This man with glasses had quite the reputation; his full name was Wu Shen. Known for being particularly harsh on his subordinates, the staff at the hospital secretly referred to him as "Kidney-less Wu." He was the Vice Director of the hospital; second in charge only to the Director himself.

"Were you the doctor on duty yesterday?" Wu Shen asked with a steel-cold expression, addressing Doctor Tian to the side.

"Yes, I was on duty last night," Doctor Tian replied, nodding earnestly.

"Did you not hear my phone call yesterday? The hospital is not treating this person," Wu Shen said, pointing at Liang Si En on the hospital bed as he spoke.

It was obvious to anyone with eyes that Wu Shen, as the head of the hospital, was taking personal initiative, and given Wu Shen's usual conduct, everyone understood that he must have been swayed by some sort of benefit.

Quite a few people were standing at the doorway of the ward by now, at the time for shift changes. The doctors and nurses coming to take over their shifts were sweating for Doctor Tian.

Wu Shen was known for seeking revenge for the smallest slights. Doctor Tian, not having been at the hospital for long, had now committed an act of defiance against Wu Shen's orders, and it seemed his chance of continuing to work at the hospital was slipping away.

Doctor Tian slightly furrowed his eyebrows, then spoke, "Director Wu, I don't quite understand why we're not treating this patient. Is he contagious? As far as I know, Liang Si En doesn't have any history of infectious diseases. Or is it that his condition is beyond our hospital's ability to treat? Liang Si En's legs have suffered comminuted fractures, and here in Huang Town, our medical facilities are the best. If we don't treat him, no one else can. Moreover, I am quite confident in my ability to treat his leg injuries."

Doctor Tian spoke eloquently, while Wu Shen's expression fluctuated uncertainly.

The doctors and nurses coming in for the early shift all silently thought Doctor Tian was too ignorant of the ways of the world.

Director Wu's refusal to treat the patient was clearly a way to trouble Liang Si En. Now that Doctor Tian was speaking out for what was right, his internship report was in jeopardy. With just a stroke of Wu Shen's pen, Doctor Tian could find himself in deep trouble.

"You're still an intern doctor, aren't you..." Wu Shen's expression turned unpleasant.

"Yes, Vice Director, I am currently an intern doctor," Doctor Tian said.

"From today, you need not continue your internship here at the hospital. You can get your internship report by the end of this week," Wu Shen declared to Doctor Tian with a grim face.

The doctors and nurses understood; this was a public display of bringing Doctor Tian down to assert his own authority.

Conventional wisdom would expect Doctor Tian to look disheartened after being dismissed by the Vice Director. However, Doctor Tian seemed completely unconcerned.

Doctor Tian glanced at his watch, then the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. "It's half-past eight now... I have fulfilled what I promised."

"Promised?" Wu Shen frowned, eyeing Doctor Tian.

Doctor Tian, however, paid no attention to Wu Shen beside him. He calmly took off his white coat. "Vice Director, you don't need to push me out; I was already prepared to leave today. To neglect a patient because of personal grievances is fundamentally against medical ethics."

"You..." Wu Shen's brows were tightly knit. "You... very well, very good... Don't forget, your internship report is still in my hands."

Doctor Tian shrugged. "Write whatever you please. My life is written by me; surely you don't think you can script my life?"

Wu Shen, upon hearing Doctor Tian's words, was livid, but he couldn't act rashly in front of so many people.

"Well said." Just then, Ding Fan walked into the ward from outside.

Seeing Ding Fan come in, Doctor Tian's eyes lit up. "Master, I have taken care of everything you asked me to."

Ding Fan had actually arrived earlier and had been listening outside the ward. Having heard everything Doctor Tian had said, Ding Fan had developed a good impression of him, especially for his bravery in the face of authority and his steadfast dedication to his duty as a healer.

"Rest assured, from now on, I will teach you medicine," Ding Fan said, looking at Doctor Tian with encouragement.

Doctor Tian nodded with joy. "Thank you, Master..."

Having witnessed Ding Fan's bone-setting skills the day before, Doctor Tian had made up his mind to learn medicine from Ding Fan.

Doctor Tian was an expert in orthopedics, having never seen a bone specialist he hadn't met, even studying abroad. But Ding Fan's ability to set comminuted bones just by manipulating them with his hands was something Doctor Tian greatly admired.

Wu Shen's face darkened as he watched Doctor Tian and Ding Fan.

Just then, the doorway to the hospital ward became noisy again. "It's this ward, I heard about it early this morning; that Liang Si En didn't leave."

The onlookers at the door were pushed aside as Lao Dai, who was beaten to a pulp by Ding Fan yesterday, entered with seven or eight thugs.

"Brother Ming, it was this asshole who beat me up yesterday, you must help me get revenge," Lao Dai said to a thug behind him.

Ding Fan looked over and recognized the thug; it was Ah Ming. When he first came to Huang Town, Ah Ming tried to flirt with Li Shuying because of her beauty, but ended up getting a good beating from Ding Fan.

It really was a small world in Huang Town; less than two days had passed, and he had run into Ah Ming again.

The onlookers at the door, seeing Ah Ming arrive, immediately began to worry for Ding Fan and the others.

Ah Ming was known to be a ruthless character in Huang Town, feared for his brutality and his policy of always taking revenge. Even the police didn't dare to offend him lightly.

Now that Ah Ming was here for Ding Fan, it seemed inevitable that knives would be drawn and blood would be shed shortly.

Meanwhile, Wu Shen had naturally slipped away to the outside of the door. Some perceptive onlookers could tell,

that the person Liang Si En had offended must have quite the background; otherwise, why would the director come first, followed by a tough character from the streets?

Now that Lao Dai had Ah Ming's support, he started acting arrogantly, shaking his head and pointing at Ding Fan. "Kid, weren't you acting all tough yesterday? The act you put on yesterday, I'll make you pay for it today!"

While Lao Dai was still going on and pointing his finger at Ding Fan's nose, Ding Fan suddenly made his move. He reached out and grabbed Lao Dai's finger that was pointing at him.

"Ow... Ow... You ******** let me go," Lao Dai cried out in pain.

Ding Fan didn't pay any attention to Lao Dai; he applied force, and everyone present could hear the sound of bones breaking.

One of the things Ding Fan hated the most since his two lifetimes was being pointed at the nose; therefore, he showed no mercy and directly snapped Lao Dai's fingers.

"Ahh..." Lao Dai screamed in agony.

Ding Fan let go, and Lao Dai was now kneeling on the ground in pain. "Brother Ming... Brother Ming... it was this asshole who hit me; you have to help me kill him!"

The crowd around them tensed up on hearing Lao Dai's words, as Ah Ming was known for being vicious. It seemed Ding Fan was in trouble now.

However, what happened next left everyone stupefied.

Ah Ming walked over in an orderly manner. "Lao Dai, I have some other matters to attend to; I have to go take care of them first."

After speaking, Ah Ming said to his subordinates, "Guys, let's go. We're leaving."

Ah Ming immediately led his subordinates to flee in a panic, like a dog that had lost its home.

What the heck! What kind of situation was this?!

The onlookers could clearly see that it was less like Ah Ming was leading his people out and more like he was running away with his tail between his legs.

Ah Ming was a well-known figure in Huang Town—a tyrant. Yet such a man abandoned Lao Dai and, in front of everyone, showed weakness and ran away with his men.

Face and reputation were what someone like Ah Ming, a man of society, valued most. Lured by Lao Dai, he left without a word and fled. If he wasn't extremely afraid, why else would he run?

Meanwhile, Wu Shen stood outside the door, looking stunned as well.

He had hoped to watch Ah Ming take care of Ding Fan and then seize the opportunity to give Doctor Tian a proper beating. Yet, he hadn't anticipated that the notorious Ah Ming would turn tail and flee upon laying eyes on Ding Fan.

But now, the most surprised were Liang Si En and Li Shuying's aunt.

They were true locals of Huang Town and knew just how troublesome Ah Ming could be. Liang Si En had been worried as soon as Ah Ming entered, silently dreading for Ding Fan's sake.

Yet, Liang Si En hadn't expected that Ah Ming, upon seeing Ding Fan, wouldn't even dare to fart.

"What's going on?" Just then, two security guards walked into the entrance of the ward.

"It's about time you showed up. This man is fighting in the hospital; hurry up and take him away..." Lao Dai, still kneeling in pain, saw the security guards and thought they were his saviors.

But right at that moment, Wu Shen walked back into the ward.

"Hold on..."

"Director Wu..." The two security guards greeted him with great respect.

Ding Fan looked at Wu Shen, who was clearly up to no good; his return suggested that nothing good was about to happen.
