Chapter 652: Pushing People Too Far
Just as Qi Luomei had left the room not long ago, a figure carrying her returned.
"You... who are you, let go of me..." Qi Luomei cried out.
As soon as the person entered the reception room, he directly threw Qi Luomei over. Even though Qi Changran reacted quickly, he just managed to catch Qi Luomei.
After catching Qi Luomei, Qi Changran's face looked grim as he turned towards the newcomer.
The person was dressed as a servant, with an unremarkable appearance – a person who could not be any more ordinary. Qi Changran did, however, have some recollection of this person; he was someone previously brought by Mr. Kou.
"A mere Sect dares to be so rampant, to show such disrespect to the Myriad Demon Sect..." the man dressed as a servant said with an extremely cold tone.
"Mr. Kou, this person is your subordinate, right? Whether the Quanzhen Xuanmen is rampant is not for a servant to criticize," Qi Changran responded as he set down Qi Luomei, his expression becoming very solemn.
This, after all, was the Quanzhen Xuanmen, and Mr. Kou's servant had shown disrespect to his own daughter, which naturally irked Qi Changran.
Mr. Kou then let out a light chuckle. "My servant does indeed lack discipline. How about this – since my servant has disrespected the Quanzhen Xuanmen, maybe Sect Master Qi could help us from the Myriad Demon Sect in properly disciplining this disciple."
Qi Changran's brow slightly furrowed as he observed Mr. Kou's demeanor; it was anything but conciliatory. Instead, it was clear that Mr. Kou was siding with his servant.
Qi Changran felt a surge of anger. The other party's actions were a clear sign of wanting to bully the Quanzhen Xuanmen, by coming into his home and acting brazenly – if that isn't arrogance, what is?
"Zhang Shun, since Mr. Kou has already said as much, why don't you help them discipline their servant," Qi Changran said, turning to Zhang Shun, who stood nearby.
Zhang Shun stood up immediately upon agreement. "A mere servant dares to run rampant in our Quanzhen Xuanmen; if we don't discipline him properly, wouldn't it be as if the gate has no one capable?"
Zhang Shun's words had barely finished when his figure had already floated next to the servant.
"Die!" The servant did not exchange any pleasantries with Zhang Shun, and with both hands turned into palm blades, he directly slashed at Zhang Shun.
The servant's slashing palms were incredibly forceful, stirring up a strong gust of wind that even those standing nearby could feel.
Qi Changran's brow slightly wrinkled as he realized, using his Mental Power, that he could not sense the servant's cultivation. He had not paid much attention before, but now it seemed evident that the servant had used a Magic Artifact to conceal his cultivation.
Just by the force of the servant's palm blades, it was apparent his cultivation would not be low. Without at least Earth Level Fourth or Fifth Grade cultivation, one could not produce such a potent slash.
Splat...
While Qi Changran inwardly marveled at the formidable force of the palm blades, the situation in the arena had already changed. Facing the servant's palm blades, Zhang Shun failed to dodge completely, and the servant's strike severed Zhang Shun's right arm.
Zhang Shun had never imagined that an ordinary servant could be so powerful; caught off guard, he had his right arm severed.
With his right arm severed, Zhang Shun did not dare to linger in combat and hastily tried to leave the arena.
Whoosh...
Just as Zhang Shun was about to leave the arena, the servant hurled a Wind Blade toward him.
The Wind Blade whistled past, and in the blink of an eye, it ended up cutting Zhang Shun in two, spilling blood and entrails in an instant; he was dead beyond any doubt.
Even Qi Luomei, always so unruly, widened her eyes in shock. She might be capricious, but she was not foolish; it was clear that the visitor meant harm by immediately resorting to lethal force.
In that moment, Qi Luomei began to recall what Cheng Bufan had mentioned about Quanzhen Xuanmen facing trouble.
Seeing the current situation, could it be that Cheng Bufan had already known the news and really wanted to come back to warn her?
At this time, Qi Changran's face had also turned ugly.
In duels between martial artists, once a life is taken, the situation becomes irretrievable.
The servant striking with lethal force from the onset was clearly looking for trouble.
"You rascal, how dare you act thusly? Zhang Shun had already had his arm severed and was retreating. Yet you still took his life, utterly despicable," Qi Changran's protector Liu Peisen roared as he sprang into action.
Whoosh...
Liu Peisen lashed out with a palm strike. This palm carried the weight of a thousand pounds, whipping up a tempest in the reception room, making everyone's eardrums ache.
Facing such a powerful palm from Liu Peisen, the servant was not only undaunted but even flashed a sinister smile. "Seeking death," he sneered.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...
Without dodging or evading, the servant faced Liu Peisen's palm and threw out several Wind Blades in response.
Boom, boom, boom...
As they engaged in a titanic clash, Internal Strength reverberated through the room, causing the reception room to shake as if on the verge of collapse.
Boom... Eventually, the reception room could no longer withstand the force and collapsed, with everyone inside hastily jumping out.
The location of the reception room had suddenly turned into nothing but rubble.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh... Boom, boom, boom...
The dust in the reception hall had not yet settled when Liu Peisen and the servant came clashing out from within it.
Liu Peisen's chest was full of bloodstains, indicating that, from the recent exchange, he had come out worse off, while the servant, besides being somewhat dusty, seemed unharmed.
"You have some skill indeed!" The servant flicked his right hand, and suddenly, a longsword appeared in his grasp.
The longsword shimmered with blue light, clearly a treasure. The servant let out a loud shout, and the longsword in his hand slashed directly towards Liu Peisen.
How could Liu Peisen possibly dodge at this moment? In the blink of an eye, he was already enveloped in the shadow of the blade.
Just at this critical moment, a figure dashed over, pulling Liu Peisen out from the heavy shadows of the sword.
However, the swordsmanship of the assailant was extremely fierce, and even though the newcomer saved Liu Peisen's life, Liu Peisen's chest was still cut by a horrific gash.
After the figure saved Liu Peisen, everyone saw clearly who it was; it was Qi Changran.
"Sect Master, these people are too bullying. You must... You must not let them go," Liu Peisen pleaded resentfully while lying in Qi Changran's arms.
Qi Changran nodded.
Sect disciples had already come forward and helped Liu Peisen to the side.
The commotion here was so great that all the disciples of the sect had gathered, including Jia Tong, who had transformed from Ding Fan and was now behind Qi Changran.
Ding Fan glanced at the situation and knew that the opponents were ready to take action, or else why else would they attempt to kill mercilessly.
It seemed that he had not arrived too late.
"Mr. Kou, as for today's matters, we at Quanzhen Xuanmen will remember. One servant of yours exudes such might, we admit our defeat. Today's grudge... we will take note of it. Although we can't avenge it today, we will demand payment with interest in the future. Kou Yan, please leave," Qi Changran said loudly.
When the disciples of Quanzhen Xuanmen heard Qi Changran actually asking Kou Yan and his group to leave, they were immediately in an uproar.
After one Great Protector was killed and another wounded, the Sect Master was just going to let them go?
"Sect Master, we cannot let them go, even if we have to stake our lives to keep these dogs here. Otherwise, how can Quanzhen Xuanmen stand in the martial world?"
"Yes, Sect Master, they've already attacked us at our doorstep, how can we possibly let them go just like that..."
Qi Changran waved his right hand, and the noisy scene instantly quieted down. "Enough, show them out!"
Seeing the Sect Master's firm stance, the disciples of Quanzhen Xuanmen didn't dare to say anything more.
Although the disciples of the sect didn't understand what Qi Changran was doing, Ding Fan realized that the Myriad Demon Sect, not counting that servant, still had three people.
Together, these four were incredibly formidable in combat. If the entire Quanzhen Xuanmen were to fight them head-on, the likely outcome would be mutually assured destruction, making it impossible for Quanzhen Xuanmen to rise again for perhaps a hundred and eighty years.
Now, by seeing them off, Qi Changran was clearly trying to preserve the strength of Quanzhen Xuanmen and then seek revenge when the opportunity arose!
Ding Fan couldn't help but admire Qi Changran. In ancient Huaxia Country, there was a man named Han Xin who, to achieve great things, endured the humiliation of crawling between someone's legs and eventually became a highly ranked general.
Qi Changran's foresight and patience were in no way inferior to that Han Xin.
"Qi Changran, you want us to leave?" The servant sneered. "Having come all this way, how can we just leave so easily?"
Qi Changran snorted. "What? Do you really think a few of you can annihilate my entire Quanzhen Xuanmen?"
Qi Changran, addressing Mr. Kou, added, "Mr. Kou, you have an opportunity to leave now. Otherwise, in a bitter struggle, do you think your life will be spared?"
Mr. Kou, who had been silent until now, stepped forward. "Sect Master Qi, I hadn't expected things to turn out like this. Since you want us to leave, I do have a small request."
Qi Changran's brows furrowed slightly.
Mr. Kou continued. "I heard that your Sect has the lower half of the Heavenly Book Fragment. If Sect Master Qi is willing to give us that Heavenly Book Fragment, we can leave right away..."
The Heavenly Book Fragment.
Qi Changran's eyes dimmed. "I wondered why you would make such a move out of the blue, it turns out you have set your sights on the Heavenly Book Fragment..."
Mr. Kou nodded. "To be honest, we did come for the Heavenly Book Fragment. If you're willing to hand over the Fragment, I assure you that every single disciple of Quanzhen Xuanmen will not be harmed."
Qi Changran let out a cold snort. "You people from the Myriad Demon Sect are truly too arrogant. Do you really believe that with just four of you here, you can do whatever you want? Could it be that my Quanzhen Xuanmen disciples are just waiting to be slaughtered at your hands?"
Mr. Kou chuckled. "With just us, we are indeed not a match for you. But what if more of our helpers were to appear?"
Qi Changran's expression changed.
At this point, they were evenly matched with Mr. Kou and his group, but if more reinforcements arrived, then they truly wouldn't be a match for them.
"All of your people are already here, what other helpers could you have?" Qi Luomei stepped forward and spoke.
"Indeed, only a few of us are here, but outside the mountain gate, our army is lying in ambush. Once our people all launch their attack, do you think your tiny Quanzhen Xuanmen can stop us?" Mr. Kou said.
Qi Luomei sneered. "Do you think you can just break through our Water Curtain?"
"With the Water Curtain, indeed, you can't come in, but what if the Water Curtain was broken?" Mr. Kou said with a smug look.
