Chapter 100 Mission! Mission!
"What's going on?" Two uniformed train officers quickly approached from a distance.
"What happened?" They hastened over, glanced at the scene, and asked in a deep voice.
"It's like this..." The waiter nearby finally reacted and began explaining in a low voice.
Having heard the waiter's explanation and taken another look at the scene, the two officers had a basic understanding of the situation. Seeing that the young man who was hit didn't seem to have any serious problems, one officer spoke up, "Everyone, come with me."
Seeing the officers approaching, Lin Tian knew trouble was inevitable.
But he wasn't surprised since he was prepared for this and followed the officers.
After Lin Tian left, the crowd burst into discussion: "That guy was so fierce, absolutely domineering—he slapped him and the guy didn't dare to move! You should have seen his eyes at the time!"
"He deserved it, being so arrogant!"
"Exactly, it felt good!"
"Just don't know what will happen to that young man?"
"Should be fine, it was just a fight."
Listening to the discussions around, Wang Lan, sitting nearby, admired Lin Tian yet also worried for him.
During Wang Lan's anxious wait, Lin Tian casually returned after ten minutes.
No sooner had Lin Tian sat down than Wang Lan asked eagerly, "Are you okay?"
"What could possibly be wrong with me?" Lin Tian raised an eyebrow.
"The police didn't give you any trouble?" Wang Lan asked, looking at Lin Tian curiously.
"Since you've addressed me as Master Lin, I should have at least that much ability," Lin Tian chuckled.
"..." Wang Lan was left speechless. She retracted the comforting words she had prepared, seeing Lin Tian's grinning face.
Of course, things weren't as simple as Lin Tian described, but they weren't overly complicated either.
It was originally a minor issue—just a fight. Since Lin Tian knew his limits and the injuries weren't serious, even if the police took it seriously, they could not do much to Lin Tian.
At most, he would be detained for a few days.
Then Lin Tian paved his way out with money, and considering the police had a slight bias towards him to begin with, they released him shortly after.
Of course, he had to part with some money, which was inevitable.
But Lin Tian didn't care about the money. He had plenty of ways to make it. What mattered was that he had vented his anger.
Two hours later, Lin Tian and Wang Lan got off the car, walking out of Hua'an City train station.
Stepping out of the station, Lin Tian glanced around and then headed towards the taxi area: "Let's go, we'll go find your nephew now."
Once in the car, Lin Tian instructed the driver to begin driving based on his intuition.
**
Inside an old and dilapidated courtyard in a remote part of Hua'an City's old quarter, four middle-aged men were discussing what to do with a female journalist.
"Speak, what do we do now?" Wang Long glanced at the girl cornered and spoke up.
"Just get rid of her!" A hint of ruthlessness flickered in one man's eyes.
"I agree, judging from her diary, no one knows she was investigating us. There was nobody around when we captured her," another man added.
"I think it's fine too! Just like the last time!" a third man chimed in.
"Hmm…" Wang Long pondered for a moment, took another look at the cornered girl, and nodded, "Then, let's do it."
"Good!" Upon hearing Wang Long's agreement, one bald man's eyes shone with pleasure, leering at the girl: "Since we're going to finish her off anyway, let us enjoy a bit first."
"Definitely, definitely!" The rest nodded eagerly, their faces showing excitement.
This woman was quite beautiful after all.
After giving the girl a once-over, a trace of temptation arose in Wang Long's heart, and he nodded: "I'll go first!"
With that said, Wang Long approached, lifted the girl, and headed to a room.
Seeing Wang Long come over, Lin Yu struggled desperately, but bound hands and feet and with her mouth covered, she was powerless to resist.
Lin Yu was filled with regret and annoyance—how could she have been so careless to be caught? What had shocked her even more was the ferocity of these men, who now wanted to kill her.
Lin Yu felt immense regret; she shouldn't have been so reckless.
Lin Yu was a journalist for the Hua'an Morning News.
Recently, she had noticed some street beggars.
All these beggars were children, and clearly, they were disabled, with some even showing signs of injury, which Lin Yu had discovered.
She decided to investigate this matter further.
Since there was no progress yet and the investigation was conducted privately, she told no one about it.
Through her research, she had gotten a rough idea about the beggars' plight.
The disabilities of these child beggars were man-made, all to make them more effective at begging.
They were all controlled by someone!
Having observed this, she planned to take a closer look at the beggars' lair.
But to her surprise, she was discovered and captured.
And she had the habit of writing a diary every day; by accident, the diary was in her bag. Through the diary, they knew everything about her.
That's why they were so bold.
Lin Yu regretted her carelessness!
Rip!
The sound of cloth tearing filled the air, and Lin Yu fought desperately, but it was in vain.
She felt the intruder's hands roaming on her body!
Clenching her teeth, Lin Yu resisted with all her might, as tears slowly streamed down her face...
In her eyes flickered a trace of despair.
Meanwhile, not far away, Lin Tian told the driver to stop the car.
After getting out, Lin Tian led Wang Lan to the front of the small courtyard, surveyed it, and said, "This is the place!"
