Chapter 156: Could it be that someone is in your heart?
One day, he curiously asked him, "You've been so virtuous while serving in the army, is there someone in your heart?"
Actually, it was just a joke, said casually.
Mason Nightshade didn't reply for a long time, his gaze distant as he looked at the crescent moon outside the window. After a long pause, when Grayson Quinn thought he wasn't going to answer, Mason suddenly uttered a faint "hmm" from deep in his throat.
The sound was too low, barely audible.
To this day, Grayson Quinn isn't sure whether Mason really uttered "hmm" back then, or if he was just hearing things.
A cigarette burned out, Mason flicked the butt away, placed his hands on the steering wheel, and drove into the night.
Aurelia Shaw watched the car lights flash past outside the window, glanced at the clock on the wall, then stood up and changed her clothes before going downstairs.
Seeing her come down, Aunt Rong quickly approached. Seeing Aurelia dressed to go out, she asked worriedly, "Young Madam, are you heading out?"
"Yes." Aurelia nodded slightly. "I'm going to meet a friend, I'll be back later."
Aunt Rong looked at the pitch-dark sky outside, uneasily suggesting, "It's so late, maybe wait until Young Master comes back."
"It's a very important friend of mine. If I miss tonight, I might not see him again, and I really don't want to miss this opportunity." Aurelia curled her red lips, a almost imperceptible gleam flickering in her eyes.
Aunt Rong wanted to say more, but seeing Aurelia's determination, she said no more, watching as she went out and drove off.
The car stopped in front of a bar.
Aurelia sat in the car, her hat brim pulled down slightly to cover her stern face, revealing only her slender, beautiful chin and her deep, mysterious almond eyes, slightly narrowed, looking at the bustling entrance of the bar.
Three silhouettes staggered out of the bar.
Aurelia's almond eyes narrowed sharply, her crimson lips slowly curving into a smile as she watched the trio turn into an alley. She took out a syringe from the glove box, filled with milky white liquid inside. She hid the syringe in the sleeve of her large coat and opened the car door.
Her light steps made no sound, following ghost-like behind the three men.
Once they turned into an alley with no people, a sharp gleam flashed in Aurelia's eyes. Suddenly quickening her pace, she charged towards the three men. They sensed something, although slightly drunk, it didn't impair their observational skills. Upon hearing footsteps behind them, they turned around warily, momentarily stunned.
They saw a woman with cascading long hair, her appearance bright and glamorous, suddenly freezing in her tracks, her watery eyes looking startled at them, yet filled with hope as she glanced towards the path behind them.
The three men chuckled lewdly, rubbing their hands as they approached the girl, their lustful, heated gaze scanning over her.
Unexpectedly, even at this midnight hour, such a place had such a beautiful woman.
Coincidentally, the three brothers were bored and looking for some fun.
"Hey beauty, are you alone?" The tall man asked, walking closer, unable to conceal the desire in his eyes.
Aurelia retreated in fear, until her back was against the wall, with nowhere to go, her alluring eyes pitifully watched the trio, trembling as she asked, "What do you... want to do?"
"We're not doing anything." The man with a scar on his face said, his lips twisting upwards, "Just want to chat with you, don't be scared."
