Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!

Chapter 121: Is It Worth It?

"If you want to eat, shut up!" Mason Nightshade said in a low voice.

Grayson Quinn knew he was in a bad mood and didn't provoke him. He took the initiative to bring over two pairs of chopsticks, handed one to him, and tasted the food. It was quite good.

"Did your family servant make this? It's definitely better than the cafeteria food in the army."

"My wife made it." Mason's words were shocking. Grayson gave him a startled glance and then steadied his expression. "Didn't you not like her? Marrying her, wasn't it to use the Shaw Family's connections to quickly develop your business?"

Mason paused for a moment while drinking, his eyes staring blankly into some unknown place. After a moment, whether talking to himself or to Grayson, he lightly murmured, "If I really want to do something, I don't need to rely on anyone else's background."

Grayson was slightly taken aback, raised his eyes in surprise to look at Mason, thought for a moment, and still reminded him, "But the matter we are investigating..."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "In this matter, we don't know if Balthazar Shaw is involved. You've fallen for his daughter. Have you thought about what will happen in the future? Not to mention anything else, Old Master Nightshade will be the first not to spare her."

"So this matter mustn't be known to Grandpa." Mason's eyes were deep, his face calm, but the veins in his hand gripping the wine glass were bulging.

Grayson looked at him, said nothing, and took a sip of his wine. "Have you decided? If what we are investigating is true, are you really going to oppose your family for the sake of this woman? You might even end up standing against the country. Mason, is it worth it?"

"Grayson, have you ever loved someone?" Mason suddenly asked.

Grayson didn't expect him to ask this question out of the blue and smiled. To love someone?

In his opinion, it's such a waste of time. For another person, to abandon one's long-held principles, to become unlike oneself, with one's mind and heart filled with thoughts of another person, he would never do such a thing.

"Don't tell me you've really fallen for her." Grayson teased with a smile, "How long have you known her? A month? Two? A woman who pursued you the moment she saw you and wanted to marry you, what's so good about that? You wouldn't be into that type, would you? That would really hurt our dear Junia Simpson."

Mason furrowed his brows. "What does this have to do with her, and...I didn't just meet her now."

"Hmm?" Grayson turned his head to look at Mason. "Her? You mean Aurelia Shaw? You've met before?"

Grayson was very surprised.

He'd never heard Mason mention it before.

"Met? Huh..." Who knows what interesting thought crossed Mason's mind. His long fingers brushed his lips, and a faint smile appeared at the corners of his cold lips. "Sort of."

If it weren't for that accident, they might have married sooner, or perhaps...those events wouldn't have happened later.

With a flash of an idea, Mason suddenly gripped the wine glass tightly, and a chill flickered in the depths of his eyes.

This time around, no one will touch her! Including himself.

Grayson was startled by the cold light suddenly appearing in Mason's eyes.

Is that how it is? Is the love already that deep? Really can't understand these people's thoughts. Clearly, they could live freely, so why risk ruining their future or even losing their life for a woman? If they want a woman, shouldn't they just wave and have one come to them?

In Grayson's mind: he probably would never understand this feeling and never wants to.

"Let's just drink instead."
