Chapter 353: Spring Dreams Like Poison (Part 2)
Presumably, normal people have all experienced nocturnal emissions, and the process often feels quite real. If you add the buff of lucid dreaming, isn't it essentially xx?
Fushimi Roku had found a clever way to leverage this, thinking that any man would explore the wonders of lucid dreaming in such a fashion, so there wasn't much to be surprised about.
However, Miyazaki Shizuka showed a surprised expression. "You mean, you want to…" She said, extending the index finger of her right hand to insert into the fist of her left hand, "…do this in a dream?"
Fushimi Roku sensed something was off.
Is this really so hard to talk about? He had assumed that Miyazaki Shizuka, being a psychologist, would have seen all kinds of situations; maybe there were patients who wanted to experience a series of heavy tastes in dreams. Comparatively, he just wanted a little spring dream... Was it really worth this fuss?
Wasn't it just said that any kind of fetish could be understood?
"Is there... any problem?"
Fushimi Roku tentatively asked, "Isn't this kind of thing quite normal?"
Miyazaki Shizuka stopped making strange gestures, cautiously observed Fushimi Roku, and softly explained, "Well... it's pretty normal, but..."
When Fushimi Roku heard the word 'but', he felt that what followed wouldn't be good.
"But, Mr. Fushimi… do you have no x life at all?" Miyazaki Shizuka asked.
"…"
Fushimi Roku retorted, "Does that matter?"
"It's relatively important; sometimes the majority of male pressure comes from sexual repression... If Mr. Fushimi has such needs, he might as well try a bubble bath; hypnosis is not recommended to avoid overindulgence." Miyazaki Shizuka explained.
Fushimi Roku seemed to understand now: Miyazaki Shizuka had categorized him as a young man with sexual repression.
"No, I'm normal in this aspect..."
Fushimi Roku had to emphasize, "How should I put it, I just want to experience it, you know?"
Miyazaki Shizuka didn't comment, blandly countering, "Mr. Fushimi, when was your last x life?"
"…"
Fushimi Roku lied, "Yesterday."
"With whom?" Miyazaki Shizuka pursued.
"That's personal privacy." Fushimi Roku continued to lie.
"No need to hide it from a psychologist, right?" Miyazaki Shizuka blinked.
"Alright, with my girlfriend... the lady Tamako sitting outside the door." Fushimi Roku had to grit his teeth to maintain the lie.
At this moment, Minamoto Tamako was sitting outside drinking tea, still conflicted about whether to eavesdrop, unaware that she'd already 'lost herself' yesterday.
"I see..."
Miyazaki Shizuka said in an intriguing tone, "If there's a lack of x life for a long time, it's easy to become addicted... Spring dream hypnosis can make people secrete a large amount of dopamine, simply put, it's easy to become addicted, breaking the psychological threshold of a normal person, and might even affect physical health."
"Is it really that serious?" Fushimi Roku expressed skepticism.
"Of course. Just imagine that you experience perfect x love, with a partner with a celebrity's face, supermodel body, not even the same species or dimension, using various methods to make you feel heavenly... Sounds pretty good, right?"
Having described the dream scenario, Miyazaki Shizuka continued: "Then when you wake up, next to you is an imperfect woman who might have freckles or a small temper, unwilling to try weird positions, not sounding as nice—The huge disparity is beyond what you can imagine; ordinary people simply can't accept it."
"They would just continue using hypnosis to satisfy themselves, unable to muster even a shred of interest in real-world women, and some might even experience impotence."
"Especially someone lacking x life,"
Miyazaki Shizuka earnestly looked at Fushimi Roku as she added the last line.
"…"
Fushimi Roku couldn't lie about frequently having an x life, as Miyazaki Shizuka had already seen through him; continued self-deception would just make him a fool.
He had to take a different approach to reclaim his dignity as a man: "It's not that I have capability issues, nor do I lack partners—I just have strong self-control... Understand? Actually, I oppose premarital sex; I'm quite a traditional man."
Miyazaki Shizuka seemed to understand, "Oh, that makes sense."
Fushimi Roku seized the moment, continuing, "So incidentally, with my Willpower, I wouldn't get addicted to this—I've held myself back in real life; why would I get addicted to a spring dream?"
"That's not just an ordinary spring dream,"
Miyazaki Shizuka emphasized its hazards: "It will feel extremely, extremely real, catering to your various fantasies, but that's not a good thing... Only when people are in a state of imminent fulfillment are they most balanced and happy."
Fushimi Roku remained silent for a moment, realizing Miyazaki Shizuka made a valid point; his x knowledge might trap him in an endless sleep within a spring dream.
If hypnosis-induced spring dreams are so harmful, why did Miyazaki Shizuka record hypnosis tapes for Kazama Tatsuya?
Thinking about this, Fushimi Roku voiced his query.
Out of considering Fushimi Roku and Kazama Tatsuya were friends, Miyazaki Shizuka slightly revealed some of the patient's personal information, "Because he was very seriously ill, needing strong medicine."
"How serious?" Fushimi Roku genuinely couldn't see it.
"He's on the verge of suicide," Miyazaki Shizuka said seriously, "Mr. Kazama's dopamine levels were severely imbalanced, secreting very, very little; do you know what that means? It's as if he's quitting drugs every moment."
While speaking, Miyazaki Shizuka paused: "Frankly, I don't know how he managed to hold it together until meeting me... He's a very unique case."
Fushimi Roku reacted with slight surprise, "But Director Shintani gave a diagnosis of mild depression..."
He stopped mid-sentence, having received a diagnosis too, which listed words like sunny, cheerful, healthy personality.
Miyazaki Shizuka smiled, saying nothing.
"Alright, I understand he's very sick, but why prescribe this kind of..." Fushimi Roku carefully considered his wording, "…this kind of 'medicine'."
"Mainly to let him have basic desires of a normal person, aside from appetite and survival instincts, sexual desire is the quickest to show results even if only in dreams, rather than him having no interest at all..."
Miyazaki Shizuka suddenly realized something, frowned and asked, "Wait, how do you know I used such hypnosis tapes for him?"
Fushimi Roku originally intended to continue lying but felt it unnecessary, as it was just an accidental occurence, he hadn't done anything wrong anyway, so he frankly shared the story of accidentally listening to hypnosis tape when drunk.
Of course, he didn't mention Watanabe Shun's bubble bath, nor the things that happened later—like trying to hypnotize Minamoto Tamako using tapes.
Miyazaki Shizuka, after learning of this, showed slight surprise, and carefully asked Fushimi Roku what he dreamed of. He truthfully narrated, and Miyazaki Shizuka promptly activated a voice recorder, simultaneously taking notes in a notebook.
"Hmm... shared dream phenomenon... very rare... really great!"
She muttered as she recorded.
"How is it great?" Fushimi Roku asked casually.
"I've been researching 'shared dream' related aspects, but cases are extremely scarce... although I'm aware, as a professional psychologist, that I shouldn't say such things, this matter is too important to me... Can I possibly ask Mr. Fushimi for assistance?"
She wanted Fushimi Roku and others to cooperate in research, conduct some routine psychological experiments.
Fushimi Roku naturally declined; he wasn't interested in being some odd lab rat.
Miyazaki Shizuka passionately urged, stating the experiment lacked danger, mostly basic hypnosis, trying to research the mechanics of 'shared dream' phenomena.
If Fushimi Roku chose to participate, she promised the content of hypnosis would entirely cater to his preferences!
"Are there no risks?" Fushimi Roku felt tempted.
"If mentally healthy, absolutely no risks; you can simply understand it as sleeping together and experiencing the same dream." Miyazaki Shizuka assured.
"But Kazama Tatsuya's mental state isn't healthy," Fushimi Roku remarked.
"Indeed…" Miyazaki Shizuka sighed helplessly.
Fushimi Roku suddenly laughed, rubbing his chin with his fingers, unclear on his thoughts, he softly said,
"However... I have a better candidate."
