Tokyo: Rabbit Officer and Her Evil Partner

Chapter 343: Online Invitation

Minamoto Tamako was in a state of panic.

A lot happened today, with the most important events being: Mr. Fu Jian confessed, they started dating, and Mr. Fu Jian went missing.

She spent the entire afternoon rushing around, found the head of neurology, and persistently tried to get answers, but to no avail.

The other party firmly claimed that they did not falsify anything, and if Minamoto Tamako suspected a misdiagnosis, then she needed to provide evidence. Who wouldn't deny an accusation without proof?

Having nothing to say, Minamoto Tamako left reluctantly.

She turned back to find Fushimi Roku, but couldn't reach him at all. She waited at home for half the day, but Fushimi Roku never returned—couldn't this guy, being an adult, learn from Taira Sakurako to come home on time before curfew?

With no other choice, Minamoto Tamako called, but Fushimi Roku didn't answer, so she kept calling. Fushimi Roku kept not answering.

Until midnight, when the phone's voice prompt said: "The number you have dialed has been switched off..."

Minamoto Tamako hung up, feeling engulfed in enormous fear and anxiety.

She bit her thumbnail, pacing with a bunny plushie around her living room, her mind full of worries about what might have happened to Mr. Fu Jian, or whether he might have suddenly changed his mind and didn't want to date her...

Taira Sakurako poked her head out from the doorway, asking when she'd come to bed. Minamoto Tamako couldn't talk about this with her, so she just said she'd be there soon, then plopped down on the sofa, took out her pink flip phone, hesitated for a long time, and called Sister Yalan.

Moriyama Yasurou was sleeping at home when she received the call, still groggy, she asked Minamoto Tamako what was going on. The latter explained Fushimi Roku's disappearance and overnight absence, nervously asking what this was all about.

"Ah, this..."

Moriyama Yasurou pinched the bridge of her nose, turned on the desk lamp, trying to sober up a bit.

She was genuinely concerned about Minamoto Tamako's feelings; partly from a gossipy interest, and partly out of care for her junior, not wanting to see Minamoto Tamako's romantic life turn sour.

"Did he show any unusual behavior before you both parted?" Moriyama Yasurou played the role of a strategist, helping Minamoto Tamako review and analyze the situation.

Minamoto Tamako thought back carefully, furrowing her brow, she indeed recalled one odd point: "He praised me for being smart... said I was making sense... even consistently agreed with what I said! What does that mean?"

Moriyama Yasurou asked Minamoto Tamako to recount the situation, so Minamoto Tamako narrated the hospital fire and her deductions.

As soon as Moriyama Yasurou heard it, she guessed it was Fushimi Roku's doing. Otherwise, that guy would never praise Minamoto Tamako's deduction as great, at most he'd say, 'I could have figured that out with my butt.'

With this in mind, the reason Fushimi Roku wasn't answering his phone was probably because he was busy with other things... like covering up a crime or tying loose ends.

Moriyama Yasurou felt slightly heavier, sensing as if she were an accomplice, helping scoundrel Fushimi Roku deceive the innocent Minamoto Tamako.

Previously, she never considered this a serious issue, after all, whatever Fushimi Roku did, even studying Nezha's brain, wasn't her business, she wasn't the one dating Fushimi Roku... but now from Minamoto Tamako's perspective, the more she thought about it, the more terrifying it seemed, who would expect the person beside them to be a murderous fiend?

Not just Minamoto Tamako, but could anyone accept that?

Moriyama Yasurou cleared her throat a few times, organized her words, then spoke with a plan in mind: "Since he thought you made sense, then he should be making every effort to investigate. Perhaps he's undercover or got delayed by something..."

"Is that so?"

Minamoto Tamako mumbled softly, starting to worry again: "He won't be in any danger, will he?"

Moriyama Yasurou thought to herself, who do you think I can ask for such things? Besides, with Fushimi Roku's abilities, shouldn't there be no need to worry about such issues?

She understood Minamoto Tamako's concerns for her lover, kindly offered a few words of comfort, and eased Minamoto Tamako's mind. Grateful, the latter's thanks only intensified her sense of guilt.

"By the way, how far have you two gotten recently?" Moriyama Yasurou asked out of habit.

She's grown accustomed to Fushimi Roku's passive yet unrefusing ways; it was no surprise the two hadn't made any progress. Her question was more out of habit, like a farmer who, knowing the crops wouldn't bear fruit today, still checks the fields from time to time.

The mention of this topic calmed Minamoto Tamako down.

She held her phone, sat up straight, the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifting, and with a seemingly indifferent tone, said: "Well, as for that..."

"Tamako, as someone who's been there, I actually don't want to say much."

Moriyama Yasurou spoke with the tone of a senior: "But, being thirty years old, I should have more experience in emotional matters than you... dealing with guys like Fushimi Roku who are like eels, you need to be more assertive, understand?"

"What kind of guys are eel-like?" Minamoto Tamako asked earnestly.

"The slippery ones," Moriyama Yasurou silently added in her mind 'who like to swim in murky waters': "You need to tie him down with a rope, and if that doesn't work, use wire. Bind him so tightly he won't struggle, got it?"

Minamoto Tamako nodded, somewhat understanding, then realizing Moriyama Yasurou couldn't see her, she quickly added: "Got it."

"So what do you plan to do next?" Moriyama Yasurou asked.

"I don't know." Minamoto Tamako said.

Moriyama Yasurou, exasperated by her misfortune and lack of aggression, intensified her tone slightly, saying: "Of course, get him to confess! If that doesn't work, you confess yourself, claim the relationship status first, and then you can rightly manage him as a girlfriend!"
