Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week

Chapter 98 Miss Dislikes Cats_1

After lunch, Aozawa used the excuse of wanting a nap to part with Hojo Tetsuji.

He went to a deserted area and transformed into a Persian cat.

On one hand, he wanted to see if Phoenix Academy Maggie could blend into the manga club. On the other, he was testing whether the duration of his transformation had been substantially shortened.

With silent steps, he headed straight for the club building.

Entering through the front door, he saw a girl who spotted him quickly crouch down, waving and saying, "MEOW MEOW, come here, this is your favorite big bosom~"

Aozawa didn't even give her a glance, fully embodying the aloofness of a Persian cat.

His target was clear—the manga club on the third floor.

Upon reaching the third floor, Aozawa discovered the door to the manga club was not completely shut, leaving a small gap. All he needed to do was squeeze through the gap to make a cat-sized entrance.

In the center of the manga club was a long table, flanked by two large cabinets stuffed with various hot-blooded shonen manga.

Yoshikawa Sayuri, hearing the noise at the door, turned her head to see the snow-white Persian cat at the entrance.

Her eyes lit up as she called out, "White Dragon Maru, you're here! My efforts to leave the door open for you every day weren't in vain!"

As Yoshikawa Sayuri moved forward to embrace Aozawa, he swiftly dodged her.

Using her head as a springboard, he jumped straight onto the table and approached Nomura True Wave.

One must not covet a friend's wife. This principle he kept close to his heart.

Yoshikawa Sayuri turned her head, pouting so hard you could almost hang a soy sauce bottle from her lips as she grumbled, "Damn it, I haven't seen White Dragon Maru for several days and he's still so unlovable."

"HAHA."

Nomura True Wave laughed, leaning forward to rest her ample chest on the table and spreading her arms out.

This was a trap to capture White Dragon Maru.

Aozawa leaped onto her chest, casually lying down. Nomura True Wave then said to Yoshikawa, "Yoshikawa, you should drink more milk. That figure of yours, even a cat finds it too hard to lie on."

"I drink it every day," Yoshikawa Sayuri retorted, glancing enviously at her friend's voluminous bosom and then at her own flat chest.

It was hopeless! The world's malice towards her was too great.

Nomura True Wave stroked Aozawa's head and said with a smile, "White Dragon Maru, we've made a costume for you."

Upon hearing this, Yoshikawa Sayuri stopped complaining about her figure and rushed to the cabinet on the right, exclaiming with excitement, "Quick, put it on him and see how it looks."

Aozawa glanced sideways and saw that the outfit they had made for him consisted of the Dawn Organization's signature straw hat and cloak with red clouds.

Nomura True Wave put the straw hat on Aozawa and fastened the black cloak with red clouds, admiring the Dawn Organization version of Aozawa. "So cute! If only he had the Sharingan, he'd be even cooler."

"How many floors can a bag of rice carry?" she quipped, grabbing Aozawa's paws and beginning to voice-over from behind the scenes.

"HAHA, Makoto, don't move. I'm going to take a photo and post it on Twitter." Yoshikawa Sayuri quickly took out her phone to take a picture, chuckling, "White Dragon Maru is both handsome and cute, but his personality is no good! What a pervy cat!"

Aozawa's gaze swept towards the door. Why hadn't Phoenix Academy Maggie come yet?

"Watch my Shinra Tensei!" "Naruto!"

Nomura True Wave used Aozawa as Pain, starting to reenact a scene with Yoshikawa Sayuri.

It must be said, having a friend on the same brainwave made it difficult to feel down.

The two of them were having the time of their lives.

Suddenly, a gentle knock sounded; a voice as pleasant as a mountain spring drifted in through the slightly ajar door.

"Hello, may I come in?"

...

After leaving the Go-Home Club, Phoenix Academy Maggie, after much deliberation and pacing, decided to visit the manga club.

She might be rejected, or she might be ostracized. Regardless of the outcome, she would be able to tell Hojo Tetsuji she had tried her best.

"Come in."

Hearing the response from inside, Phoenix Academy Maggie took a deep breath. Her face, as delicate as a porcelain doll's, showed no trace of nervousness as she masked her inner emotions with an air of indifference.

She reached out to push the door open.

At that moment, it was as if a beam of light shone into the manga club from the doorway.

Nomura True Wave lifted Aozawa to cover the curiosity on her face.

"Phoenix Academy student." Yoshikawa Sayuri expressed her surprise, "What brings you here?"

Phoenix Academy Maggie suppressed the nervousness in her heart and answered, "I want to join the manga club."

"Join the manga club?!" Yoshikawa Sayuri tilted her head, a look of utter bewilderment on her face.

After a brief moment of shock, Nomura True Wave suddenly became extremely excited and shouted, "That's exactly the kind of development we need! A mystery transfer student joins the manga club, breaking up the original pair and forming a trio, and then comes a cute pet."

At this point, Nomura True Wave held Aozawa high above her head, her tone becoming even more excited, "The next male to join the manga club will definitely be the male protagonist from Brilliant High School. Ah, the much-anticipated school romance storyline is about to unfold!"

She was so excited that she started spinning on the spot.

Phoenix Academy Maggie, standing at the doorway, couldn't understand what she was talking about at all.

In the eyes of the world, Japan is a major hub for anime and manga, supposedly a place where everyone likes them. In reality, otaku in Japan are generally viewed with disdain. Most girls despise such men. Apart from anime conventions, many people who are interested in anime tend to keep their interest to themselves to avoid letting others know about it. In Japan, otaku are at the bottom of the social ladder.

And Phoenix Academy Maggie, who was at the top of the social hierarchy, basically had nothing to do with anime or manga. In her impression, the manga club was all about oil painting, art, and so on—just another name for an art club. However, the situation seemed to be different.

Phoenix Academy Maggie scanned the manga club and found none of the equipment a painter should have, not even a single drawing pen.

"Sorry, Makoto is just like that. Please go ahead and fill out the membership application form," said Yoshikawa Sayuri, recovering from her shock and beginning the membership process.

...

After filling out the membership application form and receiving approval from Nomura True Wave, the club president, Phoenix Academy Maggie would now be a member of the manga club.

"Very good! To celebrate Phoenix Academy's joining, I'll let you pet our club's most handsome White Dragon Maru," Nomura True Wave offered Aozawa, wanting her to stroke his fur. "This is a privilege not even the vice president gets."

Judging by Phoenix Academy Maggie's demeanor, Nomura True Wave determined that this pervy cat would not refuse her affection.

Aozawa also struck a pose that clearly said, 'Go ahead and pet me.'

Phoenix Academy Maggie shook her head. "Sorry, I don't like cats."

"Are you actually a dog person then?"

"To be precise, I like powerful animals like tigers and bears. I don't find animals that debase themselves for human affection and food cute at all," Phoenix Academy Maggie explained. She sighed internally, guessing she had probably displeased the other party.

"What a cool statement!" Nomura True Wave, who thought differently from most, wasn't angry but actually looked pleased. She let go of Aozawa and said, "HAHA, White Dragon Maru, you've finally been rejected."

"MEOW MEOW." Aozawa was shocked. He rolled over and lay on the table, twisting his waist. "Come on, pet me!"

Phoenix Academy Maggie wasn't interested.

Yoshikawa Sayuri, however, was tempted and reached out, wanting to pet the cat.

Seeing this, Aozawa flipped over to avoid her, then jumped off the table and walked away.

"Damn it, it's not like you'll die if I pet you!"

Ignoring Yoshikawa Sayuri's complaint, Aozawa decided to seek consolation from some friendly older girls for his wounded heart.
