Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week

Chapter 127 Let You Witness the Grace of Evil Spirit_1

The detention facility room was square, with tatami mats on the floor and a bed in the corner. At the far end was a Western-style bathroom with an automatic sensor door. Other than that, there should have been nothing else in the room.

This wasn't Hirano Toda's first time in a detention facility. Looking over his life record, being in detention or prison was as common for him as eating and drinking. Of his thirty-six years of life, twenty-three had been spent in prisons and detention facilities. Returning here felt as comfortable as coming home.

However, Hirano Toda couldn't feel even a trace of relaxation now. Instead, his heart was squeezed by an unprecedented fear.

His eyes were wide with disbelief, at one point suspecting he was hallucinating from drugs.

If it wasn't a hallucination, then how could the man he had killed be standing in front of him?

The man's plain facial features were deathly pale, and he was dressed in a black T-shirt and pants.

This must be a hallucination...

Cold sweat broke out on Hirano Toda's forehead. His meaty face lost all its ferocity. He swallowed, trying to call for the detention center staff.

"Ah." His mouth opened wide, but he couldn't speak, as if an invisible hand was stuffed into his throat, grasping his windpipe.

"Ah."

Hirano Toda could only make a faint noise, his expression growing more terrified by the second.

He finally realized this wasn't a hallucination. It was real.

There really were ghosts in this world!

Hirano Toda turned to knock on the door, hoping to alert someone outside to come and save him.

Prisoners have the right to live, too!

But his tongue was suddenly pulled towards the Evil Spirit. The intense pain made him recoil from the door.

The icy gaze scared him so much that a large wet patch spread across his pants. He desperately tried to back away towards the door.

"WHIMPER, WHIMPER."

Hirano Toda was scared to tears.

The Evil Spirit approached step by step, growling, "Give me my life back~"

The voice, as if wafting from the underworld, terrified Hirano Toda to his core. He started to back away with all his might, frantically shaking his head in denial.

His tear-filled eyes were full of pleading. He begged the Evil Spirit not to come closer.

He was just a hitman.

"You're going to Hell," the Evil Spirit continued, closing the distance step by step, slowly raising its hands as if to strangle him.

"WHIMPER, WHIMPER, WHIMPER!"

Hirano Toda watched the approaching Evil Spirit, panic running wild through his body like a stampeding horse.

As the Evil Spirit's hands nearly clasped his neck, his terror peaked. His body jerked violently, and the muscles in his face froze in an expression of utmost horror.

His breath ceased. He had literally been scared to death.

"Tsk, and I thought he was someone brave," the Evil Spirit muttered, its body slowly becoming semi-transparent.

It stopped using Telekinesis to hold Hirano Toda's body, letting him thud heavily against the door. His head made a loud knocking sound.

Even while in the Schrödinger's Cat state, it could still use other Superpowers. With its Catalyst sensing ability always on, it could see people rushing over from outside.

"Hirano, what are you banging on?" an impatient voice drifted from outside.

A police officer looked inside but didn't spot the prisoner, so he opened the door.

Hirano Toda's body immediately fell forward onto the ground. His mouth was agape, his eyes seemed to bulge out of their sockets, and he stared blankly at the police officer.

"AH!" The officer, startled, stepped back quickly and shouted, "Someone come quick! Hirano Toda has had an accident!"

「In Saitama Prefecture, at Iwasaki's house.」

The important figures discussing how to fleece the domestic populace had left; only the younger generation remained in the estate.

Iwasaki Taro put down his cutlery, picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth, and said with a smile, "Alright, the bear has been brought to the door. Let's see how 007 fares against a brown bear."

"Haha, you're all in for a big surprise," Mitsui Takeo said with a wide grin, also ceasing his meal.

On the table before them, most dishes had only been tasted once. To them, dining wasn't just about filling their stomachs—it was about the taste. It was sufficient just to eat the tastiest part of a dish. The rest was garbage not fit to be eaten.

There are eight billion people in the world today. Nearly three billion live in hunger, unable to afford basic sustenance. To those people, such a lifestyle would be an unimaginable luxury. But in the world of Mitsui Takeo and the like, such luxury was an everyday occurrence. In fact, finishing all their food was unimaginable to them.

How could they possibly eat anything that didn't taste good?

Mitsui Takeo and the others left the estate.

On the lawn outside, a sturdy iron cage held a furious Kodiak Brown Bear. It was baring its teeth and viciously slamming its paws against the bars, emitting terrifying roars.

Iwasaki Taro introduced, "This is a Kodiak Brown Bear named Amanda. She stands three meters tall and weighs one thousand kilograms."

"We haven't fed her since yesterday."

"Now she's extremely hungry, her eyes glinting with a longing for our flesh."

A black-haired woman with a delicate, oval face looked at the restless brown bear in the cage and asked with a trace of worry, "Will there be a problem?"

"Don't worry, even the most ferocious brown bear can't withstand the sweeping fire of an AK47." Iwasaki Taro snapped his fingers, and four guards armed with AK47s walked out of the house. If 007 wasn't as formidable as Mitsui Takeo boasted, they would need these men to ensure their safety.

Mitsui Takeo said, sounding somewhat displeased, "Rest assured, this is a military-grade robot."

"007, go open the cage."

"Understood," 007 responded in a mechanical, electronic voice. It strode to the cage and took a key from its pocket to unlock the door.

BANG!

The brown bear swatted the iron door open with its paw. The enormous force bent part of the bars as they slammed into 007's body.

ROAR!

The brown bear roared, suddenly biting into 007's neck.

"AH!" The thrilling scene made the two women cover their eyes with their hands, yet they peeked between their parted index and middle fingers, their eyes wide with excitement as they watched the brown bear and 007.

Iwasaki Taro exclaimed, his voice tinged with excitement, "A Kodiak Brown Bear's bite force averages 816 kilograms, but Amanda's is 851 kilograms!"

The brown bear was gnawing at 007's neck. 007 remained motionless, waiting for its master's command.

Mitsui Takeo shouted, "007, take down that bear for me."

"Understood," 007 replied to its master. Its eyes shifted, suddenly glowing with a bright red light.

The next second, twin laser beams shot out from its eyes. The lasers, at a temperature of three thousand degrees Celsius, instantly scorched the brown bear's fur upon contact, burning through flesh and bone.

"ROAR!" The bear, in agony, released its grip and backed away.

Suddenly, blades ejected from 007's fingertips, accompanied by barbed iron hooks. It lunged forward with a violent grab. The bear's fur and flesh were torn away as easily as if they were tofu. The wound was so large that the bear's heart rolled out onto the ground. Its massive body then toppled sideways.

THUD. The brown bear hit the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust from beneath the grass.

007 turned around. The lasers in its eyes had vanished. The synthetic, human-like skin on its cheek had been punctured by the bear's teeth, revealing the silver metal underneath.

"Master, the target has been eliminated."

Mitsui Takeo beamed. "Now you understand 007's strength, right?"

"Amazing!" Iwasaki Taro applauded vigorously.

Humans knew at least a hundred ways to kill a brown bear, but those were all common knowledge to Iwasaki Taro, nothing that would amaze him. Intelligent robots, however, were different. Robots possessing such deadly power were utterly unique in the current market. This unique characteristic was what gave 007 its immense value.

"I'd also like to order a military-grade robot," Iwasaki Taro said, his face flushed with excitement. Three billion US dollars was more than many people could save in a lifetime. But to Iwasaki Taro, such an expense seemed trivial.

Mitsui Takeo shook his head. "Silver Pentagram only has seven such robots. The eighth is currently in development."

"I'm afraid you'll have to wait a long time to buy the new model."

"Is that so? That's a pity," Iwasaki Taro said, a flash of envy in his eyes. Military missiles were more powerful, but you couldn't carry them around everywhere. 007 was different. In some situations, a close-combat capable robot like this could give a greater sense of security than any missile.

A proud expression spread across Mitsui Takeo's face. He was about to continue bragging when the phone in his pocket suddenly rang. He took out his phone and answered with a click, "What's the matter?"

"Young Master, the Metropolitan Police Department just sent word. Hirano Toda, who was being held in the detention facility, was scared to death."

"Why would he be scared to death?!" Mitsui Takeo exclaimed, his face etched with surprise.

"We don't know why. The officer on duty said they heard a THUD, and when they went to check, they found him dead. There's a rumor that Yoshino's family came to claim his soul."

"Nonsense! Keep investigating and inform me when you have results," Mitsui Takeo said, then hung up the phone with a frustrated expression.

Iwasaki Taro asked, "What happened?"

"Hirano Toda is dead. They say he was scared to death by Yoshino and the others. Pure nonsense."

"Then why would he be scared to death?"

"It must have been Dio's doing. He might have secretly added some hallucinogenic chemical to the detention facility's food or air," Iwasaki Taro offered as a plausible explanation.

Hearing this, Mitsui Takeo felt the explanation was very plausible. It was possible that hallucinations caused Hirano Toda to see the figures of Yoshino and the others, scaring him to death.

"If that's the case, then the lawyer who helped Hirano Toda is highly suspicious," Mitsui Takeo murmured. He thought for a moment, realizing he'd forgotten which lawyer he had hired. "I'll call and ask," he muttered.

He unlocked his phone, intending to call and inquire who was defending Hirano Toda and to check on that lawyer.

"AH!"

A sudden scream startled Mitsui Takeo. He glanced at the black-haired woman. "Mika, what are you screaming about?"

The others looked on in confusion as well.

Sumitomo Mika looked like she was about to wet herself. Her legs were trembling uncontrollably as she pointed ahead and stammered, "Quick, look over there!"
