Tohka Yatogami's: Marvel Journey

Chapter 12: The Stolen Arc Reactor

"Tohka, I've already arranged for your enrollment at a school. You can start classes in a while. Initially, I wanted to send you straight to college, but given your situation, I think you should attend high school for a year first."

As expected, it didn't take long for Tony to come and discuss schooling with Tohka.

"Are you sure you don't need me to stay here? You know that guy hasn't been caught yet. Are you certain you're strong enough to handle it?"

"Don't worry. If that guy dares to show his face, I'll make him regret it."

Tony even threw a mock punch to show off his supposed strength.

"Fine, if you're so confident, I won't say anything more. By the way, when are you planning to send me over? I'm going stir-crazy staying here."

This wasn't a joke—Tohka wasn't such a shut-in that she wanted to stay cooped up. She'd been itching to go out for a while now.

"No rush; school doesn't start for about a month. You'll spend a year in high school before moving on to college. From what I've seen, you've already got most high school knowledge down."

Glancing at the laid-back Tohka, Tony had learned a lot about her over the past few days.

He was a bit surprised to discover that this seemingly airheaded girl actually had college-level knowledge.

"Alright then. When the time comes, I'll move out. Staying here is just too inconvenient."

"That's fine, but you'll need to prepare for your driver's license. Once you've got it, feel free to take any car from my garage."

And so, the plan was set. Originally, Tohka had thought about exploring other parts of the U.S.

However, considering the upcoming situation with Obadiah Stane, she decided to postpone it.

After all, not only had the plot already deviated because of her, but that guy had also been quiet for some time.

If Tohka had guessed correctly, that guy was likely in the final stages of his plan, with only the Arc Reactor remaining.

She had already warned Tony earlier, so he should be able to handle it on his own.

She decided to stay here just in case, planning to go out and have fun once it was over.

Tony wasn't worried about this at all. Honestly, kidnapping Tohka? Tony thought it'd be easier to kidnap him instead.

While Tohka was a bit airheaded, her ability to distinguish between good and evil was surprisingly sharp.

Thus, Tony only assigned one or two people to keep an eye on her, ensuring she stayed out of trouble.

"By the way, I wrote a novel. Can you help me get it published? Also, please make sure no one knows I wrote it."

It was only then that Tohka remembered she had finished her first book. The delay was purely because of her laziness.

If she had been more diligent, she could have written at least half of another one by now.

"No problem. Just send the files to JARVIS. You don't need to worry about the rest—I'll handle the small stuff."

Tony casually agreed, though he didn't have much faith in Tohka's writing skills. To him, it seemed hopeless.

But as long as Tohka was happy, it didn't matter—it wasn't any trouble for him at all.

All he had to do was delegate, and someone would handle it for him.

As for whether it would make a profit, he couldn't care less.

The plane he shot down was worth more than this endeavor, not to mention the silver armor he kept as a display in his lab.

Looking at Tony, Tohka couldn't help but marvel at the power of the super-rich, incomparable to anything from her past life.

"Alright, time to rest. I've been stuck at home for so long, I feel like I'm rusting."

Truthfully, Tony couldn't wait for Tohka to leave. While she was nice to look at, her unexpected love for drinking was problematic.

Pepper had thrown out all of Tony's fine wine because of her. Now, there wasn't a single drop left in the villa, and it was driving Tony nuts.

That night, Tohka continued gaming in her room.

Completely absorbed in her game, she suddenly received an alert from JARVIS—it seemed something had happened to Tony.

"Oh my god, that guy is moving way too fast."

Following the signal, Tohka quickly located Tony slumped on the sofa.

If she wasn't mistaken, that guy wasn't supposed to act for a while yet.

It seemed that after the terrorist leader's death, things had become much smoother for him.

But it seemed Tony's bombs weren't very effective. Otherwise, that guy probably wouldn't have found even this much.

"Hurry! The old Arc Reactor is still on the table!"

Seeing Tohka, Tony finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Although he had contacted his friend Rhodey, help from afar wouldn't arrive in time.

Even though Tohka wasn't exactly reliable, Tony could only hope she wouldn't mess anything up.

"Got it. I'll go right now."

Hearing Tony's words, Tohka didn't waste any time.

The Arc Reactor had always been on the table, so Tohka quickly found it.

"This is it. Looks like Tony knew I was around, so he didn't bother struggling to get here."

Breaking the glass without hesitation, Tohka grabbed the Arc Reactor and rushed back upstairs.

"Don't move! I'll put it on for you."

Standing in front of Tony, Tohka swiftly tore off his shirt.

She saw that the device on his chest was now completely empty.

The vital Arc Reactor was gone, and, more importantly, Tony's breathing had become extremely weak.

"I... told you... about this..."

"I know. Leave it to me."

After spending so much time here, Tohka wasn't clueless about how Tony swapped the Arc Reactor.

So, in just a few quick moves, she attached the Arc Reactor to Tony's chest using its connectors.

At that moment, the sound of an engine came from outside.

Moments later, Rhodey, someone Tohka had seen many times before, arrived on the scene.

"Sorry, you're late."

With the Arc Reactor installed, Tony immediately came back to life, full of energy.

Seeing his best buddy, Tony even had the energy to joke around.

"What's going on? I suddenly got your distress signal."

Looking at Tony, Rhodey asked, confused.

After all, he had rushed here without stopping for a moment.

Yet Tony was completely fine and even had the time to crack jokes, which annoyed Rhodey a little.

Writing Marvel fanfiction always feels like getting slapped in the face by its chaotic lore. Enough said...

Lastly, does anyone know which high school and university Spider-Man attended? I haven't been able to find it.
