Tohka Yatogami's: Marvel Journey

Chapter 10: Armor Completed

"It's done. Jarvis, start assembly." At last, Tony had completed the design and components for his armor. He initially wanted to fulfill his promise by making a suit for Tohka first, but after considering Tony's unreliability during his first test flight, Tohka flatly refused.

Clank, clank. Amidst the sound of metal clashing, Tony had donned his armor. This suit wasn't painted yet, remaining a sleek silver-white.

"Alright, let's go." Flames erupted from the limbs of Tony's armor, and he took off into the sky, disappearing from Tohka's view in an instant.

"He flew away…." Tohka stared blankly at the spot where Tony had vanished, then focused on sensing the power within herself. She drifted to a corner like a ghost and then…

Bang, bang.

"I'm such an idiot! How did transforming lower my IQ?! Spirits can fly—they can fly! How did I forget that? Aaaah!" She furiously banged her head against the wall, leaving dents in the previously smooth surface, though she didn't seem to notice.

"Uh, Tohka, are you okay? Jarvis told me you seem to have… an issue." At that moment, Tony's voice came through, evidently informed by Jarvis about her head-banging.

"Duct tape—uh, how's the flying feel?"

"Wow, it's amazing!" Although Tony didn't understand what Tohka had just said, his first flight experience was exhilarating.

"Tohka, record the data for me—I'm about to break a world record!"

"Hey, hey! Don't fly that high!" Tohka shouted anxiously at the screen showing Tony's altitude. If she remembered correctly, this suit wasn't equipped with anti-freeze measures yet, and extreme altitudes could cause it to freeze.

Beep, beep. Alarms blared as the screen lit up red, and the suit's indicators began rapidly declining. Tohka knew Tony was frozen, but she wasn't worried—if even Obadiah Stane didn't die from a fall, Tony would be fine.

Sure enough, after a while, the red lights on the display disappeared, and the suit's data quickly returned to normal. Tony's frightened gasps came through to Tohka.

"Alright, it looks like your armor has quite a few issues."

"Huff, huff, I know. I'm returning now. It definitely needs final adjustments." Hearing Tohka's remarks, the proud Tony couldn't deny she had a point. In actual combat, malfunctions like this could turn him into an easy target. Then again, it wasn't like many people on Earth would choose to fight at tens of thousands of meters in altitude.

Boom! While Tohka was thinking, a loud crashing sound came from outside.

"Looks like weight is also an issue. Good thing I didn't take it." For once, Tohka's rational side kicked in as she calmly walked to the basement, where Tony was sprawled on one of his luxury cars, seemingly contemplating life.

"...."

Speechless as he stared at Tohka, Tony felt he had a pretty good idea of how to deal with her by now.

"A French dinner. Now disappear."

"Understood." Upon hearing Tony's words, Tohka's cool demeanor didn't last a minute before she vanished again.

Bang! With a slight bend of her legs, she launched herself into the air and disappeared from Tony's sight.

"This girl can fly too? What other abilities does she have? No wonder she's not interested in my Iron Man armor. But wait, that's odd—why didn't she fly back in the desert?"

"Sir, she appears to have learned this ability after seeing you take off," Jarvis's voice chimed in as Tony puzzled over it.

"Is that so? Seems she has strong learning abilities. But then again, that doesn't make sense. I've analyzed her DNA before, and it's completely normal. She doesn't even have the X-gene—she's not a mutant either."

"Jarvis, looks like I need to redesign the armor with lighter materials, a stronger exterior, and anti-freezing measures… Forget it, just prepare food for our 'princess.' If she gets angry, she might tear the house apart, and I can't stop her."

It must be said that applying science to a two-dimensional world is quite laughable. If Tohka knew what Tony was thinking, she would've called him narrow-minded. After all, this world also had magic, a dark dimension, and their ruler, Dormammu.

"Sigh, when will this life settle down?" Lying in bed, Tohka felt a bit helpless about everything. For now, Tony was still under surveillance.

The next day, Tohka found Tony in the lab admiring his brand-new armor. This time, it was no longer the silver-white suit from before. In fact, it wasn't even the same armor—its predecessor sat on a nearby rack, looking like something Tony would never wear again.

"A brand-new armor, huh?" Tohka commented nonchalantly, watching Tony as she noticed the arc reactor on the table—the so-called "antique" reactor Tony had mentioned before. Even as an antique, it was advanced enough to keep a group of outside scientists occupied for days.

Then, something came to Tohka's mind. She immediately addressed Tony, who was admiring the flashy red-and-gold armor, "By the way, I suggest you make another arc reactor as a backup, just in case something unexpected happens."

"You've got a point. I'll get on that." Hearing Tohka's suggestion, Tony agreed without hesitation, put away the armor, and headed to the lab to work on a new reactor.

But just then, a breaking news report on the TV caught their attention. It was about a new terrorist attack at the same location where Tony had been previously kidnapped.

"...."

Tohka remained silent as she watched the report. She could feel the intense anger radiating from Tony's entire being. Clearly, he was recalling his unpleasant experiences in the desert.

Initially, I planned to write some lighthearted daily life scenes, but I figured it wasn't worth it. After all, Iron Man is just the prologue.

Once this arc is over, I'll dive into the broader Marvel universe. I don't plan to follow the movies entirely and will incorporate elements from other Marvel works.

By the way, Spider-Man will appear in the next arc. Don't bring up the recent movie. Remember, Spider-Man's rights used to belong to Sony, and he was one of the first superheroes to make it to the big screen.

As for things like Harry Potter, let's just pretend they don't exist. Anyway, the Marvel universe is… well, let's not even go there—it's a mess.

Let's not even talk about it—it's a total mess.
