To be the misunderstood villainess

Chapter 7: Finding the criminal

"But why did you call me? Why are you informing me about it?" She asked, hoping that it was not what she was thinking it is.

But at the same time, she couldn't remember the last time either of her prayers got an answer.

"He has joined hands with the other gangs and now all of them are after our gang. I am pretty sure that we can handle this but at the same time, we don't want to risk anything. We need your gang's help," he finally spoke up and the other side was silent for a few seconds.

"I am ok with joining hands with your gang but if you guys ever try to betray us-" she couldn't even finish her sentence.

"You don't have to worry about anything. We are not going to betray you. If anything, we need your help the most now," he said, his voice still as calm.

She made a humming sound before cutting off the call.

He was still thinking about what can be done about this situation.

He finally figured what he should do. He opened his laptop and connected it with his personal assistant.

"I want to hold an urgent meeting. Tell everyone to gather around as soon as possible," he said and immediately cuts the call after getting an affirmative response from his assistant.

He got dressed and went downstairs. His mother was looking at him with a worried look.

They were the most powerful gang but as said, teamwork always beats a single person.

They were strong but if a few ants gather around to attack another animal then they are more likely to win.

And neither of the gangs were weak. All of them were pretty strong and they are talking about a father whose only child was murdered.

He would go as far as possible to take revenge. They couldn't risk anything.

But since they have Veronica's support now, they could breathe in relief.

They were the strongest gang and there was nobody out there who isn't scared of Veronica.

She was known for her unforgiving nature, after all.

"Mum, you don't have to worry. Veronica has decided to help us. We are going to be fine now," he said, holding her hands.

His mother wasn't affectionate but he knew that she cares about him. More than she could ever care for anyone. She was his mother, after all.

"She's like an injured lioness. One moment she is calm, the next moment she can destroy everything. What if she decides not to help you anymore? I won't be surprised if she suddenly remembers the past and decides to withdraw her helping hand," she said.

Her face was now full of wrinkles, making her look older than she was.

She was undoubtedly a gorgeous woman but no matter how beautiful you are, wrinkles with aging is normal.

And she has taken it normally as well. But still, there were no self-care that she hasn't done.

"The past is in the past. She won't mix business with personal life," Andrew said.

"Business? Wait, she can't be helping you for free. What are you going to offer her?" She asked, her tone carrying eagerness.

"That's our personal matter but I promise that there's nothing you need to worry about," he said.

"If you say so, best of luck."

She patted his shoulder before leaving. As soon as she was out of his sight, he sighed in relief.

His mother was an ordinary woman with extraordinary powers. She can read what's going inside of one's mind just by watching their face.

He is afraid that had she looked into his face, she would have found out that he was lying about the last part.

There was something to worry about and if the deal between them gets out then he was afraid that hell would raise on earth.

He got in his car and started driving car at full speed. At this moment, the only thing on his mind was the upcoming meeting.

He knew that unless someone leaked some inner information, neither of the gangs would have the courage to stand against him.

He was going to find out about that traitor and give him such a punishment that his entire clan would remember this as long as their bloodline goes on.

He reached his office. A building made of glass, standing proudly, as tall as possible.

The design was unique and if someone sees this company for the first time, they were forced to fall in love but the ones who work there only knows about the real deal.

The guards greeted him and he nodded his head before going in. His employees started running around, trying to go back to their desks as soon as possible.

Neither of them were ok with getting scolded by him. He can be really rude when he wants to be and would undoubtedly go as far as to fire someone without any second thought.

His father always said that his short temper would take him nowhere but as much as he tries to control his anger, the more it seems to grow.

As soon as he stepped inside, his personal assistant came running to him.

"Sir, the meeting is already set. Everyone is present there," he said.

He hummed and went to the meeting room. Everyone stood up as soon as they saw his face.

His gaze was moving towards everyone's face. He was holding eye contact with everyone.

A few were holding eye contact lightly like they don't care about what impression they are going to leave on him while one guy was holding eye contact too firmly.

It seemed as if he was trying to prove that he was genuine and he was on his side.

Through his actions, it was clear that he was trying to prove himself innocent and that's when Andrew's suspense rose.

He already understood who was behind all of this work.

"Meet me after the meeting," he told that guy in an ordinary tone who bobbed his head.
