Till the End of Time: Asura Blood Saga

Chapter 3: Damnable Fate! (Part 2)

Time seemed to slow down in this moment, and Yasha saw scenes of his life flash before his eyes. Until the last moment, he never stopped to struggle, his rage and hatred burning fiercely.

In the end, even though Yasha continued to struggle with all his might, he was powerless to change anything. Until suddenly, his blood flow accelerated even more. It seemed to be roused by his enormous hatred and even began to heat up.

The faster the blood flowed through his veins, the hotter it became, until it started to boil. Yasha, however, didn’t notice any of this. His body was already numb from pain, so he couldn’t even feel the boiling blood in his body. Through his blurry vision, he only saw the gaping mouth of the White Shadow Panther that came closer and closer.

Not knowing when it started or where it came from, Yasha noticed that he was suddenly covered in a faint scarlet-black light. The moment the light wrapped around his battered and bruised body, Yasha suddenly felt an enormous power rush through his body. The numbness and pain was replaced by an uncontrollable power and energy that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Before its jaws could connect with Yasha’s body, the scarlet-black lights around his body intensified and shone brightly, seemingly burning on his body. They then exploded from Yasha’s body and hurled the White Shadow Panther away from his body. The force of the explosion alone was enough to knock the White Shadow Panther unconscious while mid-air.

It crashed into a nearby boulder, destroying countless trees on its way. After crashing into the rock, all organs and bones were completely crushed and it died on the spot. It happened so quickly that the demonic beast did not even know how it died. It still thought that his prey had no way to retaliate.

Yasha on the other hand only saw a blinding flash of light, after which he could not hold on anymore and lost consciousness. Until the last moment, his rage and hatred only continued to rise, reaching for the very heavens.

After that, Yasha slowly began to rise from the ground, magically hovering in the air. The scarlet-black light around him continued to shine brightly and only burned with more intensity. After reaching a critical point, the light liquefied and formed thin threads, creating a cocoon around Yasha. The threads were either scarlet or black and intertwined to form the shell like object around Yasha.

The cocoon silently hovered in the air and after a few seconds, Yasha was completely covered by it. The cocoon then continuously pulsed in an orderly fashion, resembling a beating heart. With every heart beat, it released enormous energy waves that ravaged the surroundings, splitting the ground and ripping apart trees and boulders, eventually turning the environment into a huge crater.

Nothing could stop its presence. It silently stood in the air, evoking the feeling that it owned the world, looking down on all of creation. Sometimes, the cocoon burned with pitch black flames, devouring everything in its way, and sometimes, it crackled with blood-red lightning, ready to obliterate the world.

The moment the cocoon appeared, it executed a majestic will that demanded utmost respect. All demonic beasts in the surroundings, no matter how strong, felt this will and immediately prostrated themselves on the ground, howling in submissiveness. It was like they met their king—besides submitting and bowing to their king they had no other choice.

But it was not only demonic beasts, if any cultivators happened to pass by, they would be in an even worse state. Low level cultivators with a weak will probably would have immediately dropped dead under this enormous pressure.

The will was not only majestic, it primarily reeked of madness and possessed a burning spirit that executed an eternal will to battle against the world and even the Heavenly Dao. Thus, it could be deemed heretical, as it strove for supremacy with the Heavenly Dao, the order and law of the universe. Such a will could only be called mad and insane.

Inside the cocoon, Yasha looked like he was sleeping peacefully, body curled together like a ball. His rage and hatred had vanished and were replaced with tranquility instead. He steadily breathed in and out, inhaling the scarlet-black energy around him with every breath.

This energy seemed to transform every part of his body and healed the wounds he sustained earlier. The wounds quickly vanished like they had never been there in the first place.

The most mysterious change, however, happened to Yasha’s body. The strange energy didn’t only heal his body, it completely remodeled his body. It was a change that affected his whole being, as every cell and fiber, his blood, bones and organs were transformed. A viscous black liquid was expelled by his body, a result of all the impurities inside his body.

This magical occurrence was like the rumored and extremely mystical rebirth. What Yasha was now experiencing was completely unheard of! How could someone without the least bit of spiritual energy undergo such a transformation, essentially granting him a complete new life and allowing him to rise from the ashes like a phoenix?

The process was painfully slow, but consistent. His characteristic black hair, now possessed strands of white, until the rest of his hair also gradually turned silvery. After an unknown amount of time, this silvery hair changed yet again, turning into a beautiful, snow-white color.

It didn’t stop there. Yasha’s ears now were slightly pointy, similar to those of elves and his black eyes transformed into a pungent blood-red. The scariest change happened to his blood. The usual scarlet color of blood could not be recognized anymore, as Yasha’s blood was pitch-black. It resembled a deep abyss that could devour everything.

After all these changes, the transformed Yasha looked completely different from before: he had fair skin, perfectly lean and outlined muscles that looked like they were sculpted by a virtuoso artist, pointy ears, long and silk-like snow-white hair, pale-white skin and eyes that glowed with a demonic and scarlet splendor.

All in all, Yasha now had a beautiful and demonic figure and for a male, he looked absolutely stunning and mesmerizing. At the same time, because of the demonic air around him, he also executed a certain touch of danger, which made him even more attractive.

While all of this happened, the outside world was everything but quite. Shortly after the cocoon appeared, dark clouds menacingly gathered above the Fallen Snow Mountain Range. They started directly above Yasha, but quickly turned even bigger, eventually stretching all over the horizon, until everything was clouded.

A stifling silence covered the entirety of the Fallen Snow Mountain Range, only interrupted by occasional rumblings of thunder. The clouds grew even more dense and in addition to the thunder, thick lightning flashed across the sky.

Joining the thunder and lightning, strong winds kicked in and rattled the Fallen Snow Mountain Range. All together, it looked like the gates of hell were opening, basking the surroundings in a special solemness.

Inside, Yasha did not notice any of the earth-shattering changes that the cocoon triggered, as he was still unconscious.

The apocalyptic scenery outside turned even more intense by the second, as the lightning now flashed in a thick scarlet color, adding a strong malice to the solemn aura.

With the red lightning, another will pervaded the air, suppressing everything around Yasha in a 1000 km circle. This time, the will executed a sublime holiness. It was like the righteous will of an emperor that judged his subjects. It was divine, holy and couldn’t be disrespected—no matter what. Before doing anything else, it directly clashed with the will that was emitted by the cocoon, as if it was a real person that couldn’t stand the madness and disrespect of the opposing party. After ascertaining that it found the right target, the will suddenly vanished.

A moment of tranquility returned to the Fallen Snow Mountain Range. The rumbling stopped, the strong winds died down and no lightning flashed in the sky. It was like the calm before the storm.

They vanished for a short moment, only to return with even more ferocity. The previous sublime and holy will was now replaced by a will that only sought destruction and killing. The living being in the cocoon had to die—that was the only thought contained in it.

It was like the will of an executioner, whose whole attention was focused on that tiny scarlet-black cocoon. From high in the sky, this cocoon amounted to nothing more than a speck of dust, but it was exactly that seemingly insignificant speck of dust that provoked this earth-shattering phenomenon.

As if possessing a life of its own, the lightning in the sky transformed into all kinds of divine beasts: dragons, phoenixes, turtles, tigers, flood dragons, serpents, qilins and many more. They all looked entirely lifelike and surrounded the cocoon, ready to obliterate their target.

However, before they could dive done to annihilate the cocoon, the will surrounding the cocoon was triggered by the insanely pure destructive will.

A majestic voice appeared out of nowhere, directed at the sky and the heaven-shaking phenomenon, “How dare you?! You ungrateful bastard of Heavenly Dao. After all that happened, you still—” The voice abruptly stopped while speaking, as if it could not bear to touch upon those deeply hidden memories.

“Forget it. The past is the past, and only the future is what counts. And that is why I need to go against you once again. It is entirely your choice! You will one day reap what you sow, mark my words. Today, I will protect this brat until the bitter end. This small child finally managed to awaken and you already want to destroy him? Dream on! Ha, how could nothing have changed?! It is truly laughable, we were laughable…” The voice was filled with many emotions, ranging from rage to sadness, to bitterness and confusion.

The spectacle in the sky stopped for a moment, as if considering the words of the ancient voice. In the end, the sound of a war drum echoed through the surroundings. It appeared to come from another age, distant and faint, but it was enough to reach the present time. The armada in the sky then immediately dove done, leaving no way out. The words from the ancient voice only seemed to further provoke the destructive will, immediately enacting its judgment.

The voice saw this and sighed. Then it laughed madly and cursed, “I can’t understand you, you ungrateful bastards! Just what is your problem?? Why can’t you see that he can— fuck it. There is no saving you, you will regret this.”

After saying all this, a barrier appeared that covered the cocoon, clearly intending to protect the person inside the cocoon.

If Yasha was awake, he would have immediately recognized this voice. It was the same voice that persuaded him to face his destiny and stop complaining! It was the voice that led to his current situation so to say.

But even after all that happened, Yasha did not regret his earlier decision. He had enough of his mediocrity, so he would have chosen the same path again, even if he knew what would have happened.

ROAR!!!

With a deafening roar, the army of divine beasts came crashing down like a meteor and clashed with the barrier, immediately ripping apart the world. Space itself split open and mountains turned to dust.

The destructive force was enough to completely annihilate every speck of life, it’s sole purpose was to kill. A huge part of the Fallen Snow Mountain Range was now nothing more than a crater.

After the dust settled, the familiar scarlet-black cocoon appeared. It was completely unharmed after this frightening attack! On the barrier surrounding the cocoon though, countless thin cracks silently appeared, indicating that it barely withstood the attack.

When the voice from before noticed the minuscule cracks in the barrier, it could only sigh. It seems they really are determined to not give any leeway this time. The first wave alone was already that powerful. But that only raises my hopes for that little brat, if they think of him as such a threat. Haha, come on, bring it one then!

The cocoon then pulsed with even more energy, quickly stabilizing the barrier around it, and further strengthened it.

Seemingly provoked that it did not manage to annihilate its target, even more clouds began to gather and prepared the next wave of attacks. Joining the countless divine beasts, the lightning now formed soldiers with all kinds of different weapons that solemnly stood in the sky, awaiting their commander to lead them into war.

Quickly after this, a large rainbow-colored figure appeared. It silently stood above everything, the world beneath its feet. Emotionless, it stared at the mortal world down below that had turned completely silent.

The figure raised its arm and then slowly gestured downwards, pointing directly at the insignificant, cocoon in the crater. It was a simple gesture, but it was like a death sentence.

Upon receiving their command, the army of soldiers and divine beasts crashed down again. This time, it looked like countless supernovas concentrating on one single spot, they rained down, one after another.

The concentrated power was enough to destroy entire worlds. Would it have been released on the world itself, nothing would have remained, leaving behind only planetary ruins. Luckily, it only wanted to destroy the living being inside the cocoon, so the destructive force was barely limited to ravage the Fallen Snow Mountain Range.

But even then, after this world-shattering attack, the cocoon once again appeared in the crater, completely unharmed. The barrier on the other hand, completely cracked and was only a moment before shattering. In that state, even a slight gust could destroy it.

The rumbling intensified and the ominous feeling in the air seemed to materialize, while the destructive will in the air also rose to new heights, completely angered that the tiny cocoon was still there. It really looked like a demon from hell would emerge at any moment.

In addition to the lightning and thunder in the sky, strange black flames squeezed out of the cracks in the void, appearing as otherworldly beings that distorted the common sense. They blazed with a balefulness and sin that was unfit of the righteous will in the beginning.

It didn’t stop there. Strong winds appeared around the cocoon. The wind carried the stench of decay and death and continuously nagged at the cracked barrier.

Like shattering glass, the barrier ultimately could not hold on and crumbled into countless pieces, floating around the barrier.

And lastly, the snow transformed into drops of inky water that formed gargantuan streams in the air, ready to unleash calamity upon the world. Together, the scarlet lightning army, the baleful flames, the fierce winds and the sinister water appeared like the four horsemen of the apocalypse, ready to destroy everything.

Seeing all the phenomena gathered in the sky, the voice finally turned serious. They even send down the Sinner Incinerating Flame, the Winds of Death and the Drops of Calamity. Who are the real lunatics now, damn it! Are they completely insane?! Just what are they thinking? This brat is still a mortal without cultivation! It looks like they really are giving everything they have. Too bad I am not afraid, hahaha! As a response to the impressive formation in the sky, the voice only laughed maniacally.

Directly after, a gaseous substance exploded from the cocoon and entered the shattered pieces of the barrier. In an instant, all the cracks healed and the barrier formed once again, expanding and fortifying in the process, just like hot iron that was tempered again and again.

In the end, the barrier formed a huge dome of scarlet-black energy standing proudly on the earth, not the least bit afraid of the forces gathered in the heavens.

A short moment of silence ensued, after which the rainbow-colored figure that was now strangely transparent, as if the previous attack already consumed much of its energy, pointed down again.

This time, all four phenomena, the Heavenly Lightning, the Sinner Incinerating Flame, the Winds of Death and the Drops of Calamity, converged and formed a massive cyclone that spiraled downwards, intending to end the insignificant life below.

During the impact, time and space seemed to collapse and the world turned dark. Amidst the destructive forces of the four elements, the scarlet-black dome of energy proudly stood its ground, not intending to give the opposing force even an ounce of success. It steadily blocked the incoming onslaught.

After an unknown amount of time, everything turned silent again. As a result of the impact, a huge chunk of the Fallen Snow Mountain Range was completely eradicated, with Yasha in the middle of it all.

The cocoon and the dome were gone, with Yasha lying peacefully on the ground, eyes still closed. Up in the sky, the clouds and the destructive phenomena were also gone. The blurry figure of the rainbow-colored entity remained standing in the sky.

It continued to stare down at Yasha, only to vanish a few seconds later, with anger and frustration still burning in its eyes. In the end, no matter how stubborn it was, today, it couldn’t destroy this puny human and had to withdraw in defeat.

“Hach, this was more difficult than I imagined, you must hurry little brat, I will soon fall into a slumber again. Its all the fault of this damnable Heavenly Dao that I had to use so much power. Now, awaken…”, Maneuvering through this battle seemed easy on the surface, but it took everything the entity behind the voice could offer at the moment, thus the majestic voice was filled with exhaustion and abruptly cut off at the end.

Surviving this whole ordeal, while not noticing anything of the earth-shattering battle that happened because of him, Yasha was still asleep in the crater. Every once in a while, one could see faint flickering of red lights and sparks of inky flames, remnants of the earlier battle.

These remnant forces were enough to kill any cultivator or demonic beast that was accidentally caught in either the red lights or the inky sparks. They remained in the Fallen Snow Mountain Range as a testament of this historic feat. From this day onward, a new forbidden zone emerged in the Fallen Snow Mountain Range.

It was deep in the night, when Yasha finally regained his consciousness. Still having his eyes closed, Yasha tried to move his body, only to fail miserably. It felt like his body no longer belonged to him.

Feeling very strange, Yasha struggled to open his eyes. A sharp pain flashed through them, as if he saw light for the first time. He blinked a few times, after which he managed to adjust to the bright lights. Greeted by an ashen sky that was devoid of any color, Yasha was completely confused.

Am I dead? Is this the Fallen Snow Mountain Range? Yasha closed his eyes again and tried to remember what had happened, but the last thing he could remember was the vicious jaw of the White Shadow Panther while it stood on his chest. What happened after that?

Utterly confused and still not able to control his body properly, Yasha tried to move his body again. After a few attempts, he managed to sit up straight and what he saw left him completely dumbstruck.
