Thrones of fate : Wars of ancient civilizations

Chapter 2: Beginning of the journey

The sun rose quietly over what remained of the village of "Egyptos," but for Zoser, there was no new dawn. Everything around him was destroyed. The houses once filled with laughter were now rubble, and the air that once carried the scent of flowers was now heavy with ash and smoke.

Zoser stood amidst the wreckage, staring at what was left of his village, his eyes filled with tears. He tried to grasp the catastrophe that had unfolded, but his young mind couldn't comprehend it all.

"Father! Mother! Can you hear me?!"

His voice echoed into the void, but no answer came.

Zoser sat on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably, the weight of guilt bearing down on his small shoulders. He couldn't stop himself from thinking that all of this was his fault. If only he hadn't gone to the ruins… if only "BenYamin" hadn't activated the mechanism, this destruction wouldn't have happened.

He looked to the horizon, where his loyal dog "BenYamin" had lost his life trying to defend him. He recalled the image of Ben Yamin standing bravely against the old woman, protecting him until his last breath. Zoser squeezed his eyes shut, trying to push the painful memory away, but he couldn't.

"I'm sorry, BenYamin… I'm so sorry."

After hours of searching through the rubble, Zoser realized he wouldn't find any trace of his parents or the villagers. With his small hands, he gathered stones and built a symbolic grave for his parents at what he believed was their home. He sat in front of the grave and began speaking as if they could hear him.

"Mother… Father… forgive me. I didn't know it would end like this. But I promise you, I'll find the truth. I'll figure out what happened, and I won't let this tragedy go unanswered."

As he sat there, a thought began to take root in his mind. There was nothing left to tie him to the village anymore. It was utterly destroyed, and no one remained. For the first time in his life, Zoser considered leaving his village. The outside world was unknown and frightening, but he realized he had no choice but to face it.

"I'll leave. I'll search for the truth… even if it costs me my life."

Leaving the Village

With the sunrise, Zoser stood up from the grave, tying a charred piece of cloth around his body for warmth. He grabbed a wooden stick he had found among the debris and took one last look at his destroyed village.

He began walking hesitantly toward the forest that surrounded the village. His father had always warned him against entering the forest, but now there was nothing left to lose.

As he walked through the dense trees, Zoser began to realize the road ahead wouldn't be easy. He didn't know where he was going or what awaited him, but he was determined to move forward.

Miles away, the priestess walked briskly, searching for Anubis' servant who had caused the catastrophe. She pulled a golden compass from her bag, adorned with intricate hieroglyphic carvings. She placed the compass on the ground and began chanting ancient spells in a deep voice.

"Oh powers of Ra, gather the dark energy left behind by the servant, and guide me to her path."

The compass began to glow faintly with a golden light, then slowly started to move, pointing in a specific direction. The priestess watched the compass cautiously, knowing the energy it drew upon wouldn't last long.

"I won't let this servant spread more destruction. But I must act quickly."

She raised her golden scepter and swore she would not return to the temple without the head of that servant.

While the priestess hurried toward her destination, Zoser trudged slowly into the unknown. Both were on their way to face their destinies, though neither of them realized how intertwined their fates would become.

Zoser, the four-year-old boy, had just entered a world full of dangers. A world where gods and myths clashed, and where he had to prove himself—or perish.

From here, Zoser's journey to face the unknown world begins.
