Throne of Shadows: The Conqueror (HxH)

Chapter 120: Chapter 114: Surprising Appearance

A car sped through the desert, racing towards Yorknew City, clearly in a hurry.

Inside the car, tension hung heavy as the Nostrade Family bodyguards cast wary glances at their new passenger.

It was none other than Uvogin, the 11th member of the Phantom Troupe.

Uvogin attempted to shift his body but found himself completely immobilized, unable even to twitch a finger.

"...!"

The tranquilizer administered by one of the Shadow Beast members he had defeated moments ago had left him paralyzed.

As Kurapika's intense bloodlust permeated the car, Uvogin turned to the guy who had chained him as he raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? It seems you hold a grudge against me?"

Kurapika remained silent, his mind consumed by memories of recent events...

Back then...

Kurapika and the others noticed that the caravan of cars from the Ten Dons had abruptly stopped.

They followed suit, pulling to the side while maintaining enough distance to avoid detection.

As they observed, they noticed a group of people blocking their path.

"Hahaha..."

But weirdly enough, only one of them went forward as his laughter echoed across the desert.

Uvogin grinned as he saw the people from the Ten Dons slowly surrounding him, "Now, it's time for you all to meet your end!"

BOOM!

BOOM!

The sound of gunfire filled the air as the armed mafia members from the Ten Dons launched their attack.

"Hahaha, it's useless!"

Uvogin's laughter echoed loudly in response as he retaliated.

"Huh, Shadow Beast?"

Dalzollene frowned as he witnessed a skirmish erupting ahead, noticing some members of the Shadow Beast arriving.

One of them even approached, checking on their affiliations.

"I see, so the Shadow Beast was also dispatched to get the goods..."

Their sudden appearance sparked a relief since they were now aware that a powerful group from their side was also dispatched along with them.

However...

Even the members of the Shadow Beast seemed helpless in the face of Uvogin's might as everyone looked on in shock.

Observing the one-sided battle, Kurapika's expression darkened, "They're just going to die at this rate..."

"..."

Everyone shook their heads in dismay as the fight neared its end.

It was completely one-sided, instilling fear in them of Uvogin and his group.

On the side, Kurapika suddenly widened his eyes as he recognized a tattoo on Uvogin's back as he killed one of the members of the Shadow Beast.

His body suddenly emitted intense bloodlust as his eyes slightly turned scarlet.

"...!"

"What? What happened, Kurapika?"

Everyone turned to Kurapika, feeling a shiver run down their spines at the sight of such intense bloodlust coming from someone so young.

"I'm gonna go take them out," Kurapika said with a burst of killing intent, seeming ready to charge ahead into the fray.

"Kurapika, you must be joking, right?"

"Don't be reckless!"

Despite their efforts to hold him back, Kurapika was driven by his rage and fixated on revenge until Melody stepped in.

Using her flute, she managed to calm Kurapika down and steer him toward a more thought-out plan.

And that plan was to capture Uvogin and get some information out of him!

Fast forward...

After seizing Uvogin while the Phantom Troupe members were off guard, they swiftly made their escape to their base, intending to extract information from him through interrogation.

"Hmm? Wait, someone's tailing us," Melody said, noticing a car trailing behind them.

"Huh? No way..."

Kurapika's eyes widened as he turned his head around.

He channeled his Nen over to his eyes and shouted urgently, "It's a thread! It must be made out of Nen!"

"Damn it!"

Basho cursed, yanking the thread out and tossing it out of the window.

"..."

Uvogin watched in silence as the events unfolded before him, unable to move or speak due to the effects of the tranquillizer.

His vision blurred, and soon darkness enveloped him as his pupils lost its focus.

"They've caught on," Machi informed her fellow members casually, releasing the Nen thread now that its purpose had been fulfilled.

Nobunaga frowned, impressed by their opponents' quick response, "This fast? They're quite sharp..."

"Hmm? What's going on?"

Shalnark asked, about to accelerate, but then he noticed a shadow looming overhead.

Reacting swiftly, he leaped out of the vehicle, shouting, "Everyone, get out!"

"...!"

Startled, the others followed suit, quickly exiting the vehicle.

However, Nobunaga, seated in the middle couldn't decide in which way he should go out as he then found himself ensnared by a giant cloth.

"...Fuck!"

As he struggled, the vehicle began to shrink, gradually diminishing in size.

A man appeared, seizing the cloth along with the vehicle and securing it with a tie.

"Kekeke got one of them, at least," the man smirked triumphantly.

"Hey! Let me out, you fucker!"

As the man secured the tied cloth, a muffled sound emanated from within.

He turned to address the remaining members of the Phantom Troupe.

"Now, all that's left is to deal with you lot," he declared.

Suddenly, a new presence revealed itself, standing on higher ground nearby.

Bathed in moonlight, the figures of the remaining members of the Shadow Beast became visible as they made their entrance.

"That guy should be the one who took the goods from the auction..."

Shalnark noted, eyeing the man who'd taken their ride along with Nobunaga inside.

"..."

The others nodded in agreement, recognizing Shalnark's observation.

"Then let's kill them and grab the goods. I'm feeling pretty ticked off," Feitan suggested, his eyes flashing with anger as he remembered his recent brawl with Raymond.

Back with Kurapika...

They had reached the city, driving the car through the streets until they arrived at one of the properties owned by the Nostrade family, albeit under a front company.

As they pulled up in front of the building, they spotted a middle-aged man with fully grey hair wearing a black suit standing at the entrance.

"..."

An air of unease settled over them as they stepped out of the car, feeling a heavy atmosphere descend upon them.

The grey-haired man turned to face them, his expression seemingly expectant as he gazed in their direction.

"Hmm, that middle-aged man is...?"

Kurapika muttered quietly, drawing everyone's attention.

Dalzollene inquired, "Kurapika, do you know him?"

"..."

Kurapika nodded as he recalled their encounter back at the Zoldcyk Family estate.

The confirmation from Kurapika prompted a slight sense of relief among the group, though they remained cautious.

Approaching the middle-aged man, Kurapika addressed him, "You're Sakujiro-san, right?"

Sakujiro nodded solemnly, passing by Kurapika.

"...!"

Suddenly, Kurapika's eyes widened in shock as he felt something in his pocket.

"It's from the Master. Burn it once you've read it..."

"...From Raymond?"

Kurapika glanced at Sakujiro's retreating figure as he entered a car and silently drove away.

"Huh? What was that?"

Basho turned to Kurapika as they dragged Uvogin out.

Seeing their confused faces, Kurapika muttered in slight disbelief, "...They couldn't even see his movement?"

He was unable to see it himself, but he was right beside Sakujiro and didn't have a good angle to see anything sneaky.

Yet, they were seeing it right in front of their eyes, and they still couldn't see that Sakujiro put something in his pocket.

"...No, nothing. I know his Master, but he's a sensible man. We're busy, so he left. He probably will come back tomorrow or something."

Kurapika responded calmly, and everyone shrugged in response.

"Alright, let's focus on getting something out of this guy first..."

Dalzollene instructed.

They had an urgent task at hand and couldn't care less if Kurapika's explanation made sense or not.

"..."

However, Kurapika glanced slightly at where Sakujiro was going as his eyes gleamed.
