Chapter 560: Chapter 553: Revenge Stemming from an Ancient Grudge_1
A few days after everyone from the Enbo Star System had set off, the New Continent Star System received a gravitational wave cosmic broadcast signal.
After a simple analysis, it was determined that this broadcast signal was from the location of the Enbo Star System!
This caused some surprise, why did this broadcast signal first appear in the direction of the New Continent Star System?
Upon closer examination of the signal's characteristics, everyone was even more astonished, it was very similar to Humanity's universal signal template!
Theoretically, cosmic broadcast signals are very simple, mainly to help Advanced Civilizations locate the broadcasting star system.
But even the simplest of signals, when sent by different civilizations, would require some time to decode.
Though they all use geometric or mathematical arrays, there are some nuanced differences in the mathematics used by each civilization.
The decoding of this signal, however, was almost instantaneous. According to Galaxy III's analysis, the reason for such rapid decoding was that the signal seemed as if it had come from Humanity's own hands.
Who had sent it?
Number Three immediately began an investigation.
...
Jiang Que, as usual, hurriedly boarded the airship home after work.
She had never been so punctual leaving work before, but since having a child, she'd been very eager every day to finish and see that adorable smiling face as soon as possible.
The moment she boarded the airship, she couldn't wait to use the video calling device on board to contact home, "Baby, have you been good today?"
The child had just started to speak and called out in a milky voice, "Mama."
Jiang Que felt her heart melting.
At that moment, the home's central control computer reported, "You have a visitor. Since they did not have an appointment, I only asked them to sit on the sofa in the corridor and prepared some hot tea and pastries for them."
"A friend?" Jiang Que was taken aback. "Let me see who it is."
Jiang Que found it strange. Even if a friend came to visit without prior notice, they would get in touch with her upon arrival at the house. Why would they rather sit in the hallway sipping tea than contact her?
Galaxy III sent the corridor's surveillance camera feed to Jiang Que.
It was a strange middle-aged man, slightly overweight, looking robust and with a cold demeanor, but most crucially, Jiang Que didn't recognize him.
The middle-aged man seemed to know that Jiang Que was watching the surveillance, and he gave a cold smile towards the camera.
Jiang Que's heart immediately hung in suspense, and then she began to worry about the child at home.
She hurriedly contacted Qin Hai, "Can you see if this is a friend of yours?"
Qin Hai became nervous as well, "I don't recognize him either! Could he be a parent of one of our students?"
They both were tutoring several students, and some parents, in the hopes of getting their children noticed, would take the initiative to visit their home on behalf of their children.
Jiang Que, however, said, "I have a bad feeling about him."
Then she urged the airship, "Go faster."
"Don't go back yet," Qin Hai said. "I'll go back and check it out first!"
Jiang Que shook her head, "You call the police!"
"Call the police? Isn't that a bit much? What if it really is a guest?"
"Call the police!" Jiang Que repeated.
"All right, all right!" Qin Hai chose to trust his wife.
Their home was very close to where Jiang Que worked, and the transport was an airship, so in the midst of their conversation, she arrived.
Jiang Que immediately commanded the central control computer at home, "Don't let anyone in, have Little Q meet me at the door!"
Ever since she had a child, Jiang Que entrusted Little Q to take care of the baby at home.
Jiang Que was raised with Little Q by her side and trusted it more than any childcare robot.
The airship stopped at the floor where Jiang Que lived; she almost jumped off it and sprinted toward her home.
After turning a corner, Jiang Que saw Little Q standing at the door and a middle-aged man sitting on the hallway sofa.
Seeing Little Q, Jiang Que breathed a sigh of relief and managed a smile as she asked the middle-aged man, "Have you been waiting long? May I ask who you are?"
The man's tone was somewhat stiff as he said, "Daughter of the Wallfacer, it is an honor to meet you."
He then introduced himself briefly, "You can call me Old Qin."
Upon hearing the man's first words, Jiang Que couldn't help frowning. Over half a century had passed since Jiang Yu left Blue Maiden Star, and fewer people knew of her identity.
Apart from Number Three, Cao Yang, and a few others who kept in touch regularly, many informed individuals had nearly forgotten Jiang Que's origin.
As soon as the man mentioned her name and stated that she was the daughter of the Wallfacer, Jiang Que instinctively ducked behind Little Q, "What do you want with me?"
Old Qin said, "Nothing much, just wanted to invite you to visit our place."
"To visit?"
"Yes, it's a beautiful planet with brown oceans and dense vegetation, filled with beautiful scenery everywhere."
Jiang Que shook her head, "Sorry, I don't know which planet you're talking about."
In her memory, among the fifteen provinces of planets, most had no liquid oceans, and she had never heard of one with a brown ocean.
She added, "I can't leave now, nor can I visit the planet you mentioned."
Old Qin then chuckled coldly, "What if I insist?"
Jiang Que was straightforward, "Please leave, or I will call the police!"
Old Qin shook his head, "I know, the robotic police are on their way here, but it will take at least two minutes for them to arrive."
Jiang Que had a bad feeling, "Little Q, take him down..."
Before she could finish her sentence, the steel walls of the corridor suddenly turned red, and then melted away like water to form a large hole.
An airship just sailed in through the hole.
Little Q, shielding Jiang Que with its body, retreated backward. Without Jiang Que having to say anything, Little Q had already switched to combat mode.
Its palm immediately transformed into a plasma weapon and as it was about to fire, Old Qin grabbed Little Q's arm with a speed unreachable for humans and lifted it up, slamming Little Q against the wall and leaving a small dent.
Jiang Que was stunned. Although Little Q wasn't an armed robot, it weighed over a hundred kilos; yet someone tossed it aside as if it were a toy.
But Little Q wasn't injured. It immediately grabbed Old Qin's clothes and then hit him hard with a punch.
Jiang Que was taken aback; she actually heard the sound of metal clashing.
Next, Little Q raised its hand, readying a plasma attack against Old Qin.
Just then, the door of the airship suddenly flew off, accompanied by the sound of the wind intensely striking Little Q and once again disrupting its attack.
Another man and woman jumped off the vehicle, leaping forward four to five meters, and rushed to engage in close combat with Little Q.
Jiang Que realized the three people assaulting Little Q, including Old Qin, were definitely not normal. They could actually match Little Q in strength!
As Little Q gradually started to lose ground, unable to fend off the three assailants,
Jiang Que quickly made a decision. Since they were after her, she needed to get away as fast as possible.
However, a sentence from Old Qin caused Jiang Que to abandon the idea of escaping, "If you dare run, we will kidnap your son!"
