Chapter 8: Pretending

Nyra felt her whole body vibrate as she looked up at Aeris who had this look of worry I'm his eyes, she couldn't move her body and it felt like she was convulsing. Aeris was quick to pick her up from the floor, carrying it his arms as he practically ran out of the dungeon.

"Get the doctor here, now!" He said, he could still feel Nyra vibrating in his arms but he didn't exactly care about the vibrating. He just didn't want something to happen to her.

Why though?

If he had let her to die in that dungeon maybe he wouldn't have anything to do with the prophecy. But it wasn't right, he was a king and he needed to do things according to his own law.

If not who would want to follow them. Aeris took Nyra to one of the numerous empty room they had in the palace, he placed her on the soft bed, pushing her hair out of her face as he turned around, leaving to room to make sure the doctor came to check on her.

To elf doctor soon arrive, practically sweating as he held his wooden suitcase in his hand making his way into the room where the ssod patient was resting. As he walked into the room, he could see a girl on the bed convulsing.

The doctor frowned as he dropped his box, he waved for Aeris to walk into the room before he finally turned to Aeris.

"Your highness, could you hold her down while I look for something to calm her down?" The doctor said as Aeris nodded, walking into the room as he held Nyra down, his hand on both sides of her shoulder.

The doctor rummaged through his things as he brought out a white button nearly silver powder, walking to where Nyra laid, he applied a small amount on the under of her nose. After Nyra breathed it I'm for a while, her body fell limp against the bed, making Aeris sigh softly.

The doctor just did I whole check on her body before smiling softly. "She's fine my king, she just passed out due to the impact of falling and because of stress. Just allow her rest for some days and she'll be completely back to shape"

Aeris turned to look at Nyra before slowly nodding. "Thank you doctor, please let me see you out"

Aeris followed the doctor out of the room, turning to glance at Nyra one more time before closing the door.

Nyra's eyes slowly opened as a grin spread on her lips, the colour in her eyes had turned to a dark shade of red and purple due to that powdery stuff she inhaled. She sat up stretching lazily as she looked around the room.

The large bed she was seated in was soft and smelled like roses, the room in total was arranged to perfection and she couldn't help.but chuckle.

She made sure to deceive Aeris to the point he thought she was going to die and she didn't feel remorse whatsoever. She pulled out the map from her pocket as she soon started observing the map, she had no idea the palace was built at the center of the Kingdom.

It makes her work a bit simpler, she just needed Rachel to get some Intel on where the veilshard was hidden. As she was still observing the map, the handle of the dorr slowly turned, she stuffed the map in her pocket before laying back down on the bed, and closing her eyes.

"You know, I have no idea you could be so weak?" Aeris said with a chuckle, his voice filled with nothing but mockery.

This made Nyra frown inwardly but she didn't react.

"You think you can fool that doctor and then fool me? You have to be dreaming darling because it won't work" Aeris said as he finally got to the side of her bed, he lifted up the covers his hands going to her pocket.

Nyra's eyes snapped opened as she immediately jumped up the bed. "Y-you, what are you trying to do?"

Aeris rolled his eyes at her, his gaze still fixated on her pocket. "That brown paper in your pocket, can I see it?" Aeris asked, his mind was telling him that was something important but he just couldn't place what that was exactly.

"Why would I? It's my stuff and I have every right to keep it to myself" Nyra said with a frown, Aeris stood up, tired of always exchanging words with her. He took slow steps towards her, with each step he took forward, she took it backwards and just like that, her back was slammed against the wall.

"Think you can keep running huh?" He asked her, grabbing her two hands as he pinned them above her head.

"Don't you dare, this is invasion of privacy?" Nyra yelled as she squirmed around, she knew Aeris would go to any length just to see what that is. Aeris just ignored her pleas and slowly slid the paper out of her pocket.

Unfolding it, he saw it was a well drawn map of valerdorn. With a red mark right on the castle, this made him puzzled as he slowly turned to Nyra.

"What is this for?" He asked but she didn't answer, her lips were pouted and her cheeks seemed to have gotten fuller.

"You don't do that to a lady, it's wrong and so degrading" Nyra said, she felt so wronged that she didn't notice she was acting like a little kid. Aeris smiled softly but the smile disappeared in an instant.

"Quit acting like an offending kid" Aeris said as he brought his face closer to hers, it was then he noticed the change in colours of her eyes but he didn't say anything.

"But I'm offended by your attitude, at least if I'm being held here against my wish, you should at least make me comfortable" Nyra said but immediately regretted her words as Aeris used his index finger to raise her chin upwards. Just as he was about kissing her, the door flung open, making his release her.

"Oh, sorry for disturbing, my king. Someone tried to get into the room where the vault is being kept" The guard said and Aeris suddenly frowned, he turned to look at Nyra then back at the guard.
