CHAPTER: 33
Chapter 33: Repair and Potential Threats
“So that’s how it is.” Lucien opened his eyes. After this system upgrade, the only new function that appeared was a module called “Appraisal.”
Its function was quite simple: by spending a certain amount of Reverence Points, it could appraise an object or creature and provide detailed information. However, the number of Reverence Points required depended on what was being appraised.
For instance, appraising an ordinary table would cost only 1 Reverence Point, but if it were something rare like a spatial crystal, it would require significantly more.
Similarly, when appraising a creature or another wizard, the stronger they were, the more Reverence Points it would take.
“But if I think about it from another perspective, I can also roughly estimate the value or strength of an item or creature based on how many Reverence Points are needed for appraisal.”
Thinking of this, Lucien pulled out a magic stone.
[Appraisal requires 1 Reverence Point.]
“What about this one?” Lucien put away the magic stone and took out the spatial crystal from his storage ring.
[Insufficient Reverence Points.]
“That more or less confirms my theory.” Lucien’s mouth twitched, but in the end, he smiled.
He was quite satisfied with this newly added module. Although it didn’t directly enhance his power, it was highly practical.
Considering the previously unlocked paid function, “Teaching Tips,” Lucien felt that this new appraisal feature, also a premium function, should be just as useful.
With that thought, Lucien took out a slightly damaged wizard robe.
This was the defensive wizard robe he had taken from Apollo.
At the moment, the robe was a bit tattered, with a clearly visible scorch mark—left from when it had blocked one of Lucien’s fire missiles.
[Appraisal requires 10 Reverence Points.]
“Appraise.”
Soon, as the system loaded, a detailed information panel appeared before Lucien’s eyes.
[Item]: Damaged Wizard Robe
[Classification]: Tier-0 Wizard Tool · Defense Type · Robe
[Materials]: Inner feathers of a Thornbird, white belly hide of a Tardigrade, Flash Iron Ore
[Effects]: …
“Hiss…” Lucien drew in a sharp breath as he looked over the incredibly detailed appraisal results.
Aside from the exact process of how the robe was crafted, practically every bit of information had been laid out.
It even included a step-by-step, foolproof tutorial on how to repair the slightly damaged robe.
“Let’s give it a try.” Lucien rummaged through his storage ring and quickly found the necessary materials to repair the robe.
“Heat 300 grams of Flash Iron Ore in a crucible. When it reaches a red glow, drop in the Heartgrass extract within five seconds…”
Lucien stood before his experiment table and began carefully following the instructions from the appraisal module to repair the wizard robe.
“It’s even easier than I expected.” Over half an hour later, Lucien examined the robe in his hands, now looking practically brand new, with a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.
“After the repair, the robe’s defensive strength even increased by 10%. If I had taken this robe to the academy’s alchemy workshop for repairs and wanted the same result, it would have cost me at least 30 magic stones. Even the simplest fix would cost at least 5.”
“But now, I only spent 5 Reverence Points using the appraisal module’s guide.” Lucien grinned broadly, in an excellent mood.
“Only thing is, after the system upgrade, I don’t have many Reverence Points left.” Lucien frowned and reopened his character panel.
[Host]: Lucien Kevin

[Health]: 100.0% (Healthy, Slight Fatigue)

[Upgrade Requirements]: 13/5,000 Reverence Points; Become a Full Wizard; Bond with Student: 1/25
“Reverence Points… Reverence Points!” Lucien stared at the measly 13 points left and started to regret how extravagantly he had spent them when teaching Carly.
Before the system upgrade, there weren’t many things to spend Reverence Points on. So even though Lucien had been spending generously, he still managed to save quite a bit.
But now that the “Appraisal” function was available, Lucien finally realized how valuable Reverence Points were. Used properly, they could essentially be converted into magic stones!
Just thinking about it made Lucien feel like his heart was being squeezed—like he had just lost a fortune.
“Sigh, it’s fine. As long as I’m more frugal from now on, I’ll still have enough Reverence Points.” After taking several deep breaths, Lucien gradually calmed down.
Though he regretted wasting so many points earlier, he was fortunate that as long as Carly remained, Reverence Points would continue to be generated. Now was a good time to start making up for his losses—still within an acceptable range.
Having realized the huge value of Reverence Points, Lucien began thinking about another issue: how to maximize the use of the remaining and future Reverence Points.
“I still have a long way to go to meet the two requirements for the next system upgrade, so there’s no rush to save points for that. What I really need right now is to improve my strength. In the Graybone Academy, among the Tier-3 wizard apprentices, my combat power is only mid-tier. Compared to someone like Norian, who’s at the peak of Tier-3, I’m still lacking.”
Lucien rested his chin lightly in his hand, his eyes turning cold.
At the thought of Norian, his previously relaxed mood instantly soured. He even snorted lightly through his nose.
Tier-3 wizard apprentices rarely went as far as forming deadly feuds, but when they did, they typically went all-in—because no one could guarantee that if the other party became a full wizard first, they wouldn’t just casually eliminate their rival.
And since Lucien and Norian had already completely fallen out, he was certain Norian was on guard against him—and very likely already looking for a chance to kill him.
But then Lucien’s brow furrowed deeply, as a critical issue came to mind.
That was—time. The time it would take to break through and become a full-fledged wizard!
In that regard, Norian had a considerable head start on him!
