Asher had learned this skill back in the Roktai Trial. He didn’t quite understand how he could use a skill, but only through Roleplay did he receive it through the System. It felt like the System was taking credit for his work.
The white turned to black and suddenly Asher was on the platform back on Elantontrin. Lyola ran at him, tears in her eyes. She bowled him over, knocking them both to the ground. “I was so worried,” she sobbed as he caught his breath. His right arm moved to her back.
“I made it,” he assured her. Looking around, everyone else from his group was there as well. They had made it. “Were we there the whole 12 hours?”
“5,” Nadir answered. “I take it you killed it? We tried to help, but by the end the whole area was destroyed and we couldn’t hide behind anything.”
“Barely,” Asher said. Lyola sobbed still but she slowly got up. “And I had to use some unconventional methods.”
He noticed Tiff quiet at the side of the platform. Getting up he grabbed Lyola’s hand and walked over. Tiff’s shoulders shook as she stared down to the city below. “You ok, babe?” He asked. A little scared she might do something stupid. She wiped her eyes and nodded.
“I’m sorry!” She sobbed, turning into his chest. “I shouldn’t have made you fight it. I was just so angry.” She gritted her teeth.
“Hey, its ok,” he said, stroking her back. “We made it, didn’t we?” She nodded.
“I did it again,” she said. “Got too attached, even though you warned me.”
“Hey!” He said, slapping her back. “Tiffany Titty Fucking Whitmore. Snap out of it. What’s done is done. We survived.” He sighed as he began stroking her again. “It was hard, but I won. We won. I tried to give back my rewards for her. But the System didn’t answer.”
She laughed. “I tried that too,” she said. “Guess we idiots think alike.”
He chuckled. “We have to, since we share the same brain,” he said. Pulling her back from the edge he felt the mood was a little less dark. His mother, Tillie, Aneela, and Tosh were at the palace entrance and others finally spoke.
“Congratulations!” Ria yelled. She was soon running for her husband. He laughed and twirled her around.
Aneela sauntered over to Batman. The big man picked up the Pumakin. Her long tail swayed as she stared down at him. Keera shyly walked over to Tosh and the elf actually gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was the most non-drug fueled PDA he had seen from the duo. Vincent and Ming gave each other a look that said a lot. Slowly the group let the truth wash over them. They really did it. They were done.
“We can go home,” Asher whispered. Tiff gasped with the realization. She looked over to Lyola and read her mind.
“Don’t worry sister-wife. We will be back as soon as we can,” she said. Lyola shyly looked to the ground. Apparently she didn’t want them to go. Honestly, he really didn’t either. He felt safe on Elantontin, at peace. It might be some time before they came back.
“Let’s go see the Guild Master,” Tosh said from the front. Asher picked up Lyola and Tiff and trailed behind. Lyola laughed as his hands wandered.
“What have we missed, my love?” He asked. “How’s the baby?”
“Babies doing well,” she said. “We have watched you every night. Tillie and I missed you.” he smiled broadly looking up at her. Tillie was close by and he flashed her smile. She shyly nodded.
“I have missed you. Where’s Ely?”
“Off-planet for now. I sent her to go grab some items and talk to a few people. We thought you would take longer with the Trial, not rush in against that centipede thing.”
“I couldn’t wait,” he admitted. “We were there for a month.” As they got onto the elevator platform he brought up his quest screen.

He had received almost 100,000 just from killing the boss. Then another 100,000 from completing the Trial. He felt like he deserved more, but he was close to double the level he had started this whole thing at. It was a long road, but he was getting there. Also the engagement ring Tiff had given him now read (5) next to his HP instead of the (9) it said before. Maybe that fight with Destruction was harder won than he thought.
“Lawful Good,” Tyranis said as they approached the throne.
“Roktai Guild Master,” Asher said. “Unfortunately we did not receive a planet. But we did defeat the Destruction Boss.”
“I see that. Our nightly vids of the event ended just before it began. We were all a little worried about the outcome,” Tyranis admitted. Asher nodded. “I’m curious what you think the theme of this trial was.”
Asher thought about it. There were quite a few options. “It can always get worse,” Asher landed on. Tyranis nodded. “Your fiancée tells me you should receive your Ethership any day now. Do you have any plans?”
“Sleep,” Asher said. He didn’t say with your daughter.
“Good. You have earned it. Would you like to complete the submittal of your Status screens and use your Contribution Points now? Or later?”
Asher let out a long sigh. He wanted to sleep. 2 high Risk Bosses one after another. He was exhausted. “Can we do the status submission now? And the Contribution allocation later?”
“Of course. We should keep the Orb for another week,” Tyranis said. Asher nodded. They followed him back. Asher was dragging as he used the orb first. Everyone’s screens appeared and he remembered it all easily.
