Chapter 418: Write a Letter, Must Write a Letter to Zoey!
"What moved Lidian the most was when they faced deadly danger together, Pine Bloom repeatedly risked her life to protect her, willing to die rather than let Lidian die."
"But I think Pine Bloom is no match for you. You always rush in yourself and leave me the escape route," Nivalis continued.
Rita couldn't help but interrupt:
"Isn't that obvious? I can't bear for you to die. If you die, you'll go back to Dragon Island, and who knows if you'd even remember me. Even if you do, you'd have to stay in a dragon egg for a year. I die, and I'll be back in a few days. Lidian and Pine Bloom are probably in the same situation."
Nivalis paused, then hesitantly asked, "Are you allergic to emotional speeches?"
Rita: "...I was wrong, continue."
"Anyway! Lidian really seems to be doing well, but Pine Bloom took more from her than she gave.
"Although she always consults with Lidian about everything, she always manages to get what she wants, and the results benefit Pine Bloom.
"If she needs gold, she'll ask Lidian for some dragon blood. Most of the dragon blood with the alchemists of Lania Kaia comes from Lidian.
"If she wants to evolve quickly and surpass Maple Syrup and Peach Crown, she'll ask Lidian to step aside.
"She tells Lidian that they're in an equal contract, so they shouldn't keep track of things like gold, equipment, rare items, and tools—all of it goes to Pine Bloom, and it's all fair.
"The most absurd part is that Lidian actually believed Pine Bloom's lies at first."
Thinking of Lidian's grievances, Nivalis concluded, "Pine Bloom gave Lidian nothing useful, but almost drained her dry. Snow Pile even said that Dragon Island would sell everything they had to fix Lidian's mind."
Rita asked curiously, "Didn't the dragons from Dragon Island step in to help her?"
Nivalis shook her head. "Emperor Umbrella. said it wouldn't help. Lidian has to wake up on her own."
Just as Rita was about to continue the conversation, she heard the system notification: Winter Sea Frenzied Shark's first curse had been lifted.
That was quick—only two months and it was undone.
She immediately planned to try cursing again, but then thought about it. Frenzied Shark probably wasn't in any danger in his own world. She could wait until the next Divine Game to curse him and double his rule count!
But there was someone she could curse right now!
Rita first used a "Hide and Seek" skill, covering the backyard in fog to prevent anyone from spying. Then, she transformed into a cat and began meowing non-stop.
A few minutes later, the sky rang with the sound of meowing.
But all players understood the long series of cat calls.
"I curse BS player Rick, that every morning he wakes up in the pain of a thousand arrows, and every night he sleeps in the torment of ice. He cannot eat warm food, nor will he ever feel true affection. Each level-up will cause him to lose 5 attribute points, until he earns his wife's forgiveness, at which point the curse can be lifted."
At the same time, a black kettle was placed on Zoey's head.
Though from any perspective, Zoey didn't need to hide anymore, it had become a habit for Rita. Whether dealing with him or Zoey, she preferred not showing her cards.
As long as there wasn't another incident like with Frenzied Shark, she liked the feeling of her enemies being in the open while she stayed hidden.
It was so devious, yet so reassuring!
Once the curse was cast, Rita released the fog, reverted to her human form, and pulled out her phone to open the family chat group. She had been pretending to be "dead" for a while, but now it was time to stop pretending.
She casually asked Rick if he had offended anyone, throwing in a few words of concern, maintaining the persona of a stingy but caring family member.
However, Scarlett, who was in a good mood, had something to say about the curse.
[Happy Scarlett]: "Baby, mom really cares about you. Don't believe that curse."
[Strong Rita]: "Guilty? Getting caught without a fight?" Experience exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire
[Happy Scarlett]: "Nonsense, it's all the curse's fault."
Rita quickly picked up on Scarlett's dislike for Rick, and it seemed intentional.
It was like she was deliberately telling Rick that his mother had already stopped loving him long before the curse appeared.
Could it be that Scarlett knew everything about Rick, Samuel, and the strange things happening with them?
[Widowed Samuel]: "Is your wife back? Her ID is still hidden, right?"
[Widowed Samuel]: "Did she find out about me setting you up on blind dates?"
Rita: !!!
That's a thing too?! Write a letter, she had to write Zoey a letter! Tomorrow, she'd go to Lania Kaia and write to Zoey!
[Strong Rita]: "No wonder, it all makes sense now. Zoey isn't dead."
[Widowed Rick]: "But I never went on a blind date!"
[Widowed Rick]: "Sis, do you have any way to fix this?"
[Strong Rita]: "I can help you contact Zoey. As for the curse, I know there's a gem called 'Spring Not Late' that can lift blood-related curses. I happened to get one before, but I've already used it."
After this information came out, the group went quiet for several minutes.
Then, the three of them all avoided the topic and turned the conversation back to Rita, asking where she had been and if she had brought anything back.
But privately, both Scarlett and Samuel messaged her asking if she could get another "Spring Not Late" gem.
Rita replied to both, saying she'd help them find it.
After dealing with her enemies, Rita noticed Nivalis had been using the Golden Tree Withered Leaf to entertain the cats in the backyard.
She asked Nivalis, "Why aren't you using it? By the way, don't try to cheat with Master Thief Dragon. I tried it and it doesn't work."
Nivalis flew up in front of Rita and sat down, holding up the Golden Tree Withered Leaf:
"I wanted to wait until you woke up to use it with you."
Rita didn't care about such ceremony, but it was clear Nivalis liked it. She sat cross-legged, patted the ground, and said, "Alright, let's go."
First Leaf: "Congratulations, player, you have drawn a 4th-tier reward—Skill Modification I."
You can modify one word or number of a skill that is not higher than S-rank.
Nivalis also got a six-sided dice with values from 1 to 3, and she chose the Aurora Screen skill, modifying the casting time from 6 seconds to 2 seconds.
Second Leaf: "Congratulations, player, you have drawn a 6th-tier reward—Gene Evolution I."
This was exactly what Nivalis needed. She crushed the golden-threaded droplet, and the golden threads burrowed into the silver ice-crystal-like patterns on her white dragon belly.
Nivalis' spirit clearly improved a bit, but it was still far from enough.
Third Leaf: "Congratulations, player, you have drawn a 5th-tier reward—20 languages of all races (selectable)."
A 5th-tier reward, and it only had 20 languages...
When Maple Burn gave her the 666 languages of all races, she probably had no idea how valuable these languages actually were.
Hiss... when they traded, Maple Syrup probably hadn't even come out of the World Battlefield yet...
When she revived Maple Burn, she met Mistblade, who had just come out of the battlefield.
It felt like a kid selling off the family's hidden treasures when the adults were away.
But for some reason, she felt that Maple Syrup wouldn't care.
As long as Maple Burn came back to her, she wouldn't care about the 666 languages of all races...
