This is my ninja journey

Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Let’s set a small goal first!

"Damn it, I've become a big fat sheep again."

Dusk had arrived, and the setting sun was falling in the west. Otonashi emerged from the tent, pulling off his headband to reveal a head of silver hair. He wasn't a level-grinding maniac who only thought about getting stronger. As the saying goes, train day and night, and play with all your heart.

Small gambling is good for the mood, and drawing is good for health.

But it seemed that the bad luck of his previous life hadn't changed even after changing bodies. The nickname 'frontline fat sheep' was even more famous than the new rookie Genin. Just as he was wondering if something was wrong, he saw Hyuga Hinata walking towards him.

"Otonashi, come back with me." The Jonin still had that unsmiling look, and he didn't bother to care about Otonashi's usual entertainment.

"Oh, okay."

The two returned to Team 17's tent, just in time to see Shisui and Shizune, who were yawning, lift the curtain and come out. This was a battlefield, so of course, there were no conditions for men and women to live separately. Fortunately, Shizune sprinkled a lot of medicine to avoid the stench of sweat.

"It stinks. I really want to take a shower. I finally found a chance to wash three days ago." The girl's hair was messy. The clean and tidy wars only existed in dramas.

"Then you go to the river to wash later." Shisui didn't understand. Anyway, he just tied up his dirty hair with his forehead protector.

"No, unless Otonashi is asleep."

"Are you afraid he'll peek?"

"Not really, but he's always practicing water style by the river every day, which is really annoying. And he's not as serious as you, Shisui. He usually likes to draw with a notebook, right? I secretly glanced at it last time." Shizune's face suddenly flushed red, and she squeezed out a sentence from between her teeth: "They weren't wearing clothes!"

Huh?

Shisui didn't react for a while. They had been together day and night for four months. He did notice that Otonashi would either play cards or mysteriously draw in his spare time, and he always carried it with him. He was about to ask a few questions when he saw Hyuga Hinata coming.

Otonashi, who was following behind him, walked closer and saw that Uchiha Shisui's face was a little strange. He put the sword aside, looked in the mirror to tidy up his hair, and casually asked:

"What were you two whispering about just now?"

"Nothing, just complaining about the harsh environment." Shisui smiled awkwardly, pinching his fingers together in front of him and just happening to pinch a mosquito full of blood.

This damn place was not only hot and humid, but there were also a lot of mosquitoes. He sweated through several sets of clothes a day and couldn't even take a shower. Just staying here was a kind of torture, not much better than the soldiers squatting in the trenches in his previous life.

'If anyone says they like war again, I'll have to tear off their head and kick it like a ball.'

Otonashi cursed and slapped a few mosquitoes to death. He pulled up his collar, leaving only his eyes exposed, and asked the Jonin next to him, "Fortunately, these damn days are coming to an end, right, Instructor Hinata?"

"How do you know?" Hyuga Hinata frowned.

"Lord Orochimaru, as the commander-in-chief of the front line, wouldn't call a meeting of Jonin to discuss where to camp, right? Look, he's looking over here."

Looking in the direction Otonashi was pointing, a slender figure was staring at Team 17 on the edge of the tent. The campfire was flickering, illuminating his face faintly. In the blink of an eye, Orochimaru had disappeared.

Hiss, so scary...

Shizune and Shisui quickly turned their heads back. In just a moment, their skin was covered with goosebumps.

"It seems that Lord Orochimaru is very optimistic about our Team 17." Otonashi didn't think much of it. Anyway, that gaze wasn't aimed at this 'old fresh meat'.

Hyuga Hinata frowned and thought for a while, but he couldn't figure out why his students were worthy of the attention of the Sannin. He lit the campfire and said:

"Tomorrow, the entire army will set out for Mount Kikyo. You guys rest well tonight. The specific combat mission will be issued after departure."

"The decisive battle?"

"Yes, the Iwa ninjas of the Land of Earth are fighting a decisive battle with the Kumo ninjas. Konoha must defeat Suna before these two decide the outcome." Hyuga Hinata looked at the flying flames and said a little vicissitudinously, "Don't worry, we have an overwhelming advantage. I hope you can be promoted to Chunin after this battle."

He remembered the Second Shinobi World War more than ten years ago. He was the same age and made great contributions, but he was still a bird in a cage.

Hyuga Hinata's fist quietly clenched. The entire camp seemed silent, with only the slight crackling of the burning flames.

After arriving on the battlefield for half a month, Otonashi and the others were no longer hot-blooded recruits. It seemed that survival was more meaningful than building a career.

Kunai would stab people to death, ninjutsu would smash or burn people, and if you accidentally stepped on an explosive tag trap, you would only be able to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of your life. Not to mention that under the impact of large-scale ninjutsu, even the corpse could not be found.

"Instructor Hinata, why did Suna declare war on us?" Shizune quietly raised her hand and asked. She helped rescue the wounded every day. As a medical ninja, she could better understand the cruelty of the battlefield.

The Byakugan came over, but Hyuga Hinata did not answer. He didn't want to use righteousness and hatred to fool these children like other Jonin. After a pause, his gaze swept over the faces of the three.

Shizune with a face full of thirst for knowledge, Shisui who was lost in thought, and Otonashi who had somehow taken out a notebook again and was writing and drawing...

"Otonashi, you answer."

"Huh?" The young man, who was coloring the rounded curves, raised his head. Seeing that everyone was looking at him, he chuckled and closed the notebook, saying, "What's there to be conflicted about? We are Konoha ninjas. Whoever declares war on Konoha, we will defeat them. Where you sit determines what you think."

His logic was simple. He didn't like to trap himself in profound philosophical questions.

"But if I really want to investigate the thoughts of Suna Hidden Village of the Land of Wind, I do have some clues." He tucked the notebook into his arms, his smile completely gone, and replied solemnly, "Maybe they want to lose."

"Want to lose? What kind of reason is that?" Shizune was full of doubts. How could there be a desire to lose in war? Suna didn't look like they had been blown away by the wind and sand.

"Then let me ask you, what caused the Third Shinobi World War?" Otonashi asked back.

"A few years ago, the Third Kazekage disappeared. The Kumo Hidden Village of the Land of Lightning found an opportunity to launch a surprise attack. Then they were defeated by the newly appointed Fourth Kazekage." Shizune answered without thinking. The process of the early stage of the war had long been recorded.

The Land of Wind and the Land of Lightning were the first to fight. Then the Land of Earth also joined this chaotic battle, confronting the Land of Lightning head-on. And Suna of the Land of Wind immediately declared war on the strongest Konoha after surviving the chaotic period. This was the history before Konoha's 46th year.

"As the first to participate in the war and be beaten, Suna cannot win." Otonashi propped up his head with one hand and picked up a branch to draw a world map on the ground. "Ignoring small countries like the Land of Fields and the Land of Rain, the Land of Wind, Land of Earth, Land of Lightning, Land of Fire, and Land of Water form a plum blossom pattern."

"The land of the Wind is located in the southwest corner and border with both the Fire and Earth Countries. Teacher Hinata, I heard that the Iwa ninjas are looking for an alliance with the Land of the Wind, right?"

"Yes." Hyuga Hinata, who was lost in thought, nodded slightly. The regular ninja army of Iwa ninjas was the largest, said to be over 20,000.

"Then that's right. Instead of being roasted on the fire by those young and strong factions in the country and finally being dragged into a protracted war, it is better to lose as soon as possible." The flames jumped in Otonashi's eyes, and he threw down the branch and smiled lightly, "Speaking of which, the Fourth Kazekage is really a remarkable person."

The Land of Wind, which had experienced internal strife and surprise attacks, could not survive until the end of the war. It was better to withdraw from the war as early as possible to preserve its vitality. This was the most reasonable explanation.

"It's really possible. At least Konoha dare not propose too harsh armistice conditions!" Shisui suddenly raised his head, and the doubts that had plagued him for months had been resolved.

"If you don't want to be besieged by the four countries, it's better to let Suna go. At least our Konoha's 'Professor' is a rational person. Of course, even if this reason is true, it's useless." Otonashi calmed his smile and ran to the tent to sleep without waiting for the others to react.

Is this kid really only twelve years old?

Hyuga Hinata had been watching the other party's back. He felt that his way of thinking was even more sophisticated than his own. This was life experience that no talent could bring. He was confused for a while.

"Go to sleep early. We'll set off at six o'clock tomorrow." Looking at the two students who half-understood, Hinata put out the fire and got up to leave. Otonashi had risen another level in his heart.

Compared with the bloodline of that family, the innate four-attribute chakra and brain were nothing.

Because ninjutsu could be learned through hard work, and kekkei genkai could also be made up for the day after tomorrow, only this life experience would take at least ten or twenty years of social beatings to obtain.

But why didn't he hide his clumsiness? Why did he accept the conscription? With such intelligence, he could definitely find a reason to stay in Konoha until the end of the war.

Thinking of this, Hyuga Hinata shouted at the back, "Otonashi, why did you choose to come to the battlefield?"

The young man, who had already lifted the curtain, turned his head, looked at the serious teacher, smiled, and patted the scabbard he was holding.

"If you want to live long, you must first sharpen your blade!"

The three entered the tent. The battlefield environment was harsh, and the two men and one woman all slept with their feet together, but the tent was filled with the smell of sweat, and there was no ambiguity or splendor.

The eyes under the kerosene lamp flickered. It seemed that no one could fall asleep. Uchiha Shisui put his hands under his head. He was meticulous and thoughtful. He thought about Otonashi's answer to the teacher just now, and the more he thought about it, the more he couldn't sleep. He suddenly turned his head.

"What?" Otonashi, who was already drowsy, suddenly saw a face, and the focus of his gaze made his heart lift.

"If you can survive tomorrow's battle, what do you want to do..."

"Stop, stop, Brother Shisui, there are some things that cannot be said before the battle!" Otonashi quickly stopped the other party from setting up a flag for himself, covered the boy's mouth, and directly said all the following words.

"Life goals should be found slowly. We little soldiers just want to survive first, otherwise no matter how big the ambition is, it will be a joke if we lose our lives."

"I don't believe it." The young man shook his head. He didn't believe that Otonashi was a vulgar person who just wanted to live aimlessly.

"The road ahead is long and winding, let's survive first." Otonashi looked at the stained tent roof, his past and present life flashed through his mind, and his eyes gradually sharpened.

Well, let's set a small goal of killing ten Jonin first!
