This is my ninja journey

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Philosophical History of Ninja

The head with wide-open eyes rolled a few times on the ground, and the wind and sand also fell at the same time. Only the last bit of the setting sun dyed the forest with a layer of blood. In his ears, he seemed to be able to hear the "caw caw" sound of crows.

Ten new corpses had been added to the forest. Even the person who had been injured by Otonashi's senbon was killed by Shizune from behind because he tried to sneak attack. The scavengers couldn't wait to feast.

"Team 17 is indeed powerful. As expected of the elites personally selected by Lord Hinata." Namikaze Minato nodded approvingly. All three were very interesting. Leaving aside the genius from the Uchiha family who had participated in the war at the age of seven, Hanyu Otonashi gave him a feeling of surprise.

Ninjutsu, taijutsu, and tactics were all excellent. Coupled with the previous rumors, he was a little tempted to go back to the camp and check his background.

"Not at all, not at all. It's Minato's team that is the elite of Konoha." Hyuga Hinata replied with a faint smile. As Otonashi had expected, being pushed to the battlefield while other Genin were still practicing, Konoha had expectations of them.

And this expectation was to kill quickly and well!

Minato shook his head slightly and looked at the three students behind him, "Kakashi and the others are just receiving tempering in advance. I think this war will bring out many rising stars."

The white-haired boy's gaze had been fixed on the battlefield, looking at Otonashi, who was slowly sheathing his sword, as if he was lost in thought. The other boy wearing goggles wanted to say something, but he couldn't say anything boastful.

They had been promoted to Chunin last year. They really had no face to boast in front of a few Genin who were fighting for the first time.

"If Konoha wants to remain strong, it must have more and more inheritance of will. Let's go over." Hyuga Hinata nodded. As a Jonin, his perspective on problems was even more noble. At his invitation, several people jumped down from the branches and walked towards the battlefield.

Scattered kunai, almost no intact corpses, the strong smell of blood drilled into the nose, making people feel like vomiting. Otonashi glanced at the corpses on the ground and put the sword back behind him. He saw that his two companions had also come over.

Six of the ten enemies were killed by Uchiha Shisui, but there was no arrogance on the boy's face, as if he understood who the real contributor to this encounter was.

"Otonashi, you are really amazing. The Suna squad leader at the end was almost as strong as a special Jonin, right?" Shisui said while pulling the shuriken out of the corpse. His face was calm, like a natural killing machine.

"The point of battle is to make the enemy misjudge your strength. If I had to draw my sword and fight, it would take some effort." Otonashi was also very calm. He used a broken cloth to wipe the senbon and put them back into the leather sheath at his waist. "After all, my strength is poor, so I have to use my brain to make up for it."

Poor?

The Uchiha, who was drinking water, coughed. Not to mention anything else, just his ninjutsu was above Chunin level, okay? Of course, in his worldview, a 12-year-old Chunin was nothing. It was just that this Hanyu Otonashi definitely didn't use his full strength.

Seeing his appearance, the corner of Otonashi's mouth moved, but he didn't say much.

In this world, offense was strong and defense was weak to the extreme. There was no aura release and no protective shield. Defensive ninjutsu still required seals. Therefore, ninjas mostly used Bunshin no Jutsu and Kawarimi no Jutsu for defense--

The so-called I dodge fast enough is invincible.

Therefore, everyone was a body of flesh and blood. Even if the Hokage was slashed, he would die. As long as the timing was right, even a student who hadn't graduated could kill a Jonin!

He turned to look at the other companion in the team. Compared to the two monsters, Shizune seemed ordinary. Throughout the battle, she was basically just playing around.

He really didn't know why Tsunade had taken a liking to her.

Otonashi saw that the girl's hand holding the kunai was trembling slightly and said with a smile, "Shaking hands? It's like this the first time you kill someone. You'll get used to it."

Shizune grabbed her wrist and forced the trembling to stop, "I'm curious how you can still laugh."

"Because I've experienced even more painful things. I would have committed suicide long ago if I wasn't optimistic."

"Uh, sorry." Shizune thought she had touched the scar of Otonashi's parents' death a few years ago.

Otonashi didn't speak. He just looked up at the falling leaves. A few withered leaves fell into the pool of blood. After a moment of daze, he patted his face to wake up.

"Let's clean up the battlefield."

War had its rules. At least for now, the villages hadn't really gone all out and still maintained some decency.

They collected kunai, explosive tags, and other military supplies, and then dragged the corpses to a pile. Then, they used the 'Sand Flow Technique' to bury the corpses underground.

The corpses quickly sank into the quicksand, as if all traces of their existence in the world had been erased. When they reached a depth where even wild dogs couldn't drag them out, Otonashi ended the earth style. He picked up a ninja sword and inserted it on top, and hung the Suna ninja's forehead protector on the hilt. The nameless grave was completed.

The scene was a bit silent under the death. This was the world of ninjas. They didn't even have the chance to report their names until they died. But once they stepped on this road, there was no turning back.

'It's been thirteen years. I haven't seen much hot-bloodedness, but death is commonplace.'

Otonashi sighed and stopped looking at the lonely tombstone. He turned his head and saw a large group of people coming behind him.

Namikaze Minato, Hatake Kakashi?

He immediately recognized two of them. Not only were they vague memories from his previous life, but these two were also famous in this life.

One was a Konoha elite Jonin, and the other was a genius who was promoted to Chunin at the age of eight. Only Uchiha Shisui beside him could compare.

"Lord Minato." Seeing Minato coming, the three Genin quickly bowed their heads.

"Yes, don't be nervous. Whether it's Jonin, Chunin, or Genin, they are all part of Konoha." Namikaze Minato smiled and waved his hand. The gentle laughter like a spring breeze eased the atmosphere. He glanced around and pointed to the sword behind Otonashi.

"This is not the sword issued by the academy, is it?"

"Yes, this sword is a relic of my father. It is made of chakra metal." Otonashi answered, stroking the hilt.

"That is a precious weapon indeed. Remember to use it well." Minato's smile deepened. Seeing the sword, he instantly remembered the boy's origin.

Special metal was needed to conduct chakra to weapons. Otherwise, ordinary swords would be scrapped after a few uses. And Konoha did not produce this precious metal. Even the weapons used by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist from the closed northern country.

'So he's that person's son.' Minato didn't say much. He just casually asked, "Hanyu Otonashi, I have a question I want to ask you."

"Please speak."

"You have such strength, why did you fail the graduation exam twice?"

The question was a bit sharp, causing the others to look over. If he was deliberately hiding his strength, it would inevitably cause resentment in the eyes of these Konoha ninjas.

Unexpectedly, Otonashi touched his headband and answered with a wry smile, "Because my written test scores were not qualified twice, especially mathematics and philosophy."

Of course, the ninja academy also had a lot of cultural courses. Speaking of which, Otonashi was angry. What was the use of the formula for calculating the parabola of a kunai? As long as it could hit the person, that's all that mattered. And those subjects like philosophy and history were even more of a waste of time. The textbooks almost blew the First and Second Hokage to the sky.

Everyone was stunned, but the boy wearing goggles nodded repeatedly. It seemed that he had also suffered a lot.

Of course, there was no problem with studying hard, but unfortunately, Otonashi didn't want to waste time on these trivial matters at all.

"It seems that you are a practical person. That's right, some of the subjects in the ninja academy are too far from the battlefield." Namikaze Minato, who had always been a good student, smiled wryly.

He suddenly remembered that there were always a few classmates in his class who were good at fighting but not good at using their brains. No, this boy was not bad at using his brain. He should be precocious.

He clearly knew what he wanted without being taught from books. Of course, there was no need to waste time. Minato didn't think much about it and simply attributed it to his special family.

"I look forward to seeing you perform better on the battlefield. Kakashi, let's go." Minato, who was busy, cared about talent and turned to leave.

The silver-haired boy took a deep look at Otonashi and left silently. The boy with the goggles stood still with his arms crossed.

"What's the matter?" Otonashi instantly focused his attention on the other party. Both his chakra and appearance were very ordinary.

Seeing his gaze, the boy suddenly stretched out his hand and pointed to Otonashi's chest, and said loudly, "My name is Uchiha Obito, remember, I won't lose to you!"

"Enough, be a little more reserved in front of the Genin. Sorry, sorry, I made you laugh." Before Otonashi could answer, the girl with short brown hair dragged Obito away while apologizing. In a short while, they disappeared into the forest.

Uchiha Obito? I think I've heard of him somewhere...

Otonashi looked at the direction where the few people disappeared and thought hard. Suddenly, someone patted him lightly on the shoulder. He turned his head and saw that it was Shisui.

"Don't be angry. Uchiha Obito is a distant relative of my family, I guess. He's a grade above you, but his grades aren't very good. He barely graduated."

"Another dead-last who wants to be Hokage?" Otonashi became alert.

"I don't know the specific situation, but I heard that he is a very kind child." The Uchiha family was very large. As a genius, Shisui had no contact with Obito at all. He glanced at the few people who had disappeared and was about to say something when he was interrupted by a soft cough.

"Our mission is still ongoing. We can talk when we get back to the camp." As a team leader, Hyuga Hinata was much stricter than Namikaze Minato. He glanced at his students and ordered, "The reconnaissance mission continues. Shizune, you take the lead this time."

"Yes." The girl who had not performed well just now quickly replied.

With a few swishing sounds, there was no one else in the forest. Only a strong wind blew, and the Suna forehead protector fell to the ground, splashing a cloud of dust.

Death, was far from over...
