Chapter 387: What's Yours is Mine
Rafdel's thoughts were actually the same as those of most of the Gods present.
Things often turn out this way.
If you have a particular strength, then there will be corresponding weaknesses.
Favoured excelling in combat are not good at managing, those good at managing may not excel at proselytizing, and those adept at proselytizing might not be formidable in battle.
This is why the followers of a powerful God System are diverse.
It is to use different species to compensate for each other's shortcomings, ultimately forming a powerful and comprehensive group to achieve the God's goal of conquering world after world.
The Life God System is the pioneer of this approach.
This can be seen, to some extent, from the composition of the Elf Empire.
The Tree man Clan, the Elf Clan, and the Unicorn Race complemented each other's strengths and weaknesses, making the then Elf Empire incredibly powerful and virtually invincible.
The decline of the Elf Empire was due to internal chaos within the Life God System and the withering of the Ancient Tree of Life, which led to the mutation of the core Favoured, the Elf Clan.
Finally, the complementary advantage was broken, leading to defeat by the Humans.
Now that Lette has addressed these shortcomings, the combat power displayed is beyond what ordinary Humans can hope to match.
Today, even in this nascent world, the followers of the Life God System remain numerous.
Flower Fairies, Little Grass Spirits, the Tree man Clan, Wood Elves, and advanced ordinary Elves, even High Elves.
In terms of the rationality of species composition, it is indeed more reasonable and more comprehensive.
If forming an alliance army, it would not lack for a tank, or a mage, an assassin, archer, healer, or control.
This versatile army, facing off against the other tribe.
Isn't that a sure victory?
The advantage is mine! Attack!
Heracleil thought the same!
If you can't develop, then achieve victory by destroying the enemy!
Such actions often occur even in regular management-style gambles!
Some God Systems do nothing in terms of management, and merely achieve victory by physically eliminating the opponent's faith.
Though it's rather extreme, there is no time to worry about that now!
"Advance! Capture the enemy's fortress!"
Heracleil gathered a large army and charged toward the enemy's base closest to their own side.
Seeing such a menacing posture, several Gods in the audience immediately tensed up.
"Wrong! They shouldn't have taken this step!"
Afra gripped the railing on the dueling platform, waving her fist, "Nora! Listen to me!
Use three Ingots to refresh for orange Magic Treasures! Then enhance and refine!
Use the Seven Star Formation, coupled with a ten-kill streak in the national war!"
Lette waved his hand repeatedly, "Go, go, have you even understood it and you're here giving random commands!? Shouldn't a real man stay quiet while watching a game?"
"Haha! He's panicking, he's panicking! That means I'm right!"
On the other side, Heracleil was so angry he almost ground his teeth to dust. At first, they did nothing while developing, and now in war they've done nothing either?
What's so fun about board games!
Just take a look at your opponent! Pay some attention to the battlefield, you fool!
"Kill! Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill!"
With Heracleil's furious command, the Alliance of the Life Beings launched their attack immediately.
The mages of the Elf Clan began chanting powerful magic, while the Tree man Clan strode forward heavily toward the base.
The archers shot countless Magic Arrows, and the assassins vanished, stealthily approaching the enemy to prepare for a deadly strike.
And in response to the enemy's assault, the base of the Mushroom Man Clan quickly reacted.
Amidst a piercing buzzing sound, squads of Mushroom Man Clan warriors armed to the teeth rushed into the defensive fortifications.
One airborne unit after another slowly lifted off, and heavy artillery ground units rapidly assembled.
An Energy Defense Barrier rose above the entire base.
Magic and arrows alike, all were blocked without exception.
Clearly, these Mushroom Men also know how to use magic. In fact, their magic utilization is far superior.
After repelling the first wave of attacks, the base immediately began its counterattack.
Heavy artillery boomed, flying units dropped bombs and missiles, and combat units in the defensive works started firing wildly.
Within an instant, firepower several times stronger than the enemy rained down on the positions of the Alliance of the Life Beings, bringing destruction and death.
The intense web of fire seemed to ignite the sky itself.
After one volley, the entire alliance lost a full 40% of its forces!
The Tree man Clan in the front row suffered a total wipeout, not even leaving debris!
The very first clash had many Gods gaping in shock.
The Life Camp's volley couldn't even break the enemy's Defense Barrier, yet the opponent's counterattack nearly wiped out the whole alliance.
This firepower, the gap is too vast!
This is not even on the same level!
Heracleil was utterly dazed.
He had just planned the route for further advancement after victory.
And then was slapped back into reality.
Looking at those bizarre, never-before-seen enemy combat units in the arena, his entire being was distraught.
The appearance of these Mushroom Men was relatively humanoid, but their aerial units, ground vehicles, and architectural styles were excessively peculiar.
Some resembled insect conglomerates, capable of spewing corrosive venom.
Some were a grotesque mix between a dragon and a moth, with firepower beyond ordinary.
Others were self-destructing rolly bugs and burrowing crawlers...
In conclusion, they seemed like hybrids of various animals and insects, with terrifying power.
And their weapons were even more bewildering.
Clearly just a pile of strange parts, wood, and stones haphazardly assembled, yet somehow fiercer than a heavy magic cannon! It makes no sense!
Poor Heracleil, who had rallied 80% of his troops, intending to establish an advantage in one fell swoop.
Yet he couldn't even conquer a single outer fringe base of the opponent.
He lost a full 40% of his forces, which would be flattery to still call a debacle.
But just as he prepared to cut his losses and retreat, an even more dreadful event occurred!
Something resembling fleshy moss suddenly began spreading from the enemy base, rapidly covering the entire battlefield.
The individual bodies of the Life God System's favoured that had been blown apart were dismembered and absorbed in no time.
Then, from the barracks of the base, came forth units identical in appearance and capacity to the opponent's units.
And a large number of buildings within the base began upgrading, even adopting the architectural styles of the Life God System!
"No! This can't be!"
Rafdel screamed in terror; he knew all too well what this meant.
Their civilization was being devoured by the enemy!
