Chapter 366: Let's Go, Continue Back
After two days of preparation, Emily and Jenny were all set to go.
Lette, along with Lilith and Joanna, saw them off at the gates of the Imperial City of the Elf Empire.
"Because the Jade Dream has disappeared, we currently can't take a shortcut to Kedrus Harbor City.
So, you'll have to detour to Harbor City first and meet up with Alice there."
Lette pulled out a map and handed it to Emily: "Once you pick up Alice, you can then set off together to find my Holy Artifact, the Country of Utopia."
Emily shoved the map into her luggage: "Seriously, just when we need it, the shortcut's gone…"
"Rest assured."
Lette gestured with his thumb behind him: "The Life Goddess has returned, the world is recuperating, and it won't be long before Noel crafts a new Jade Dream.
Not just here; we're also planning to build a Pure White Dream on the Holy City side.
That way, we can travel quickly between the three places."
"Is that true?"
Emily suddenly got excited: "Then why don't we wait until all these dreams are built before we leave!"
"No."
Very mercilessly, Lette dismissed her suggestion: "This time going out is to let you gain experience, go through more, and train yourself.
Going through some hardship, suffering a bit, that's the way to grow!"
Emily pouted: "Oh, come on. Normal travel can't be as hard as being with you, can it?"
"Stop talking nonsense! Are you packed up? If you're packed, then hurry up and get moving."
Emily raised a fist in protest: "I'm not packed. You clearly said I could take anything I wanted, but ended up denying me."
Lette angrily gave her a hand chop: "You wanted the Unicorn King! How could I possibly give it to you!
How about I send you directly to your destination?"
Emily covered her head, looking pitifully at Lilith: "Sister Lilith, I'm leaving."
Lilith chuckled: "Take care of yourself on the road, okay?"
"…I meant to ask earlier, Sister Lilith, why has the shape of the horns on your head changed over these two days?"
Lilith blushed: "Well, the Demon's Horn changes shape periodically."
"Really? But we were together for half a year before, and I never saw your Demon's Horn change."
"Ahem, ahem, it's not important. By the way, don't you have anything to say to your Sister Joanna?"
Emily immediately ran over to Joanna: "Sister Joanna~ It's been so long, I've missed you. Unfortunately, we just met and we'll have to part again."
Joanna affectionately rubbed Emily's head: "It's okay, a short separation is just for a better reunion later on.
Besides, if you get bored on the road, you can pray to me.
I will respond to you at any time."
"Ahem, well!"
Lette suddenly interrupted: "If you pray, look for Afra. Your Sister Joanna might be busy and not always available.
Also, don't pray randomly when there's no need."
Emily rolled her eyes at him and continued holding Joanna's hand: "Speaking of which, Sister Joanna, you've become prettier and prettier.
Especially your new hairstyle, it's so cute and pretty.
The twin tails really suit you."
Joanna blushed: "I-Is it? Actually, it's mainly because Lette likes it this way."
Emily tilted her head: "Likes it? What do you mean?"
Lette yanked her over: "Visually accustomed. Where do you get so many questions? Why do you lack this enthusiasm for learning in your daily life?
If you could apply this bit of curiosity to improving your knowledge, it would be much better.
Go, go, go, start your new journey now!"
Jenny beside them couldn't take it anymore either; she pulled a still confused Emily and turned to leave.
"We're leaving now, no need to see us off, no need."
Their figures disappeared around the corner of the road amidst the noise.
Only then did Lette take Lilith and Joanna, happily heading back.
"Hey, you two beauties, it's only noon now, why don't we go back and take a nap, what do you think?"
Lilith shot him a look: "Then like yesterday, sleep till afternoon, take an afternoon nap till it gets dark, and not bother getting up, just continue sleeping, right?"
"You saw through me!"
Joanna shyly glanced at Lette: "You really are... You can't just rely on the recovery from Holy Light and Life's two great secret arts and act wantonly."
"I've been working for so long, what's wrong with enjoying a bit? Let's go! More music and more dancing!"
Lette pulled the two women along towards a manor within the capital city of the Elf Empire.
It was a permanent residence gifted to him by the Elf Clan to express their gratitude.
Even though Lette preferred the little manor in the Holy City, it didn't stop him from enjoying himself here first.
Just as the three of them were on their way back, the High Priest of the Life Temple approached them with some people.
"Uh-oh, looks like they're coming for us."
Lilith looked at Lette: "Did something happen with the Divine Court?"
Joanna furrowed her brows: "Impossible. Afra, Lette, and I worked hard to establish the operational rules for the world.
With the Holy Truth Magic Ring, the Holy Wisdom Cloud Library, and the Great Angel's human corrections, there shouldn't be issues.
Even if there were, as the creator of the rules, I should be the first to know."
Just as the three were puzzled, the High Priest of Life arrived in front of them, kneeling on one knee.
"Lord, we've finally found you. The two goddesses have urgent matters to discuss with you and the Divine Lord."
Lette looked at Joanna: "They're looking for us both; could the world's operational rules really have a problem?"
"It shouldn't be."
Joanna looked at the High Priest: "Did the Life Goddess mention anything particular?"
"The goddess did not specify, but it seemed to relate to those captives caught last time."
Lette clapped his hands: "Oh, I get it. Okay, okay, we know what's going on, you can leave now."
"Yes!"
The High Priest and the others left, while Lette led Lilith and Joanna, turning towards the direction of the Lake of Life.
On the way, Lilith couldn't help but ask: "What on earth happened, and captives? Whose captives?"
"A special envoy sent by the Life God System wanted to reclaim the Sun and Moon Divine Crowns. I beat him up, captured him, and held him for ransom with Divine Coins."
"Oh, I see."
Lette glanced at Lilith: "You don't seem surprised at all."
"When it comes to things happening to you, what is there to be surprised about?"
Lilith smiled: "I'm more curious whether the Life God System has figured it out, or just accepted it."
