This Gyaru Will Date the Otaku in 63 Days
Mondays are some of the worst days for the Otaku. Usually because it means going back to the normal routine of being stuck in class and wishing he could just stay home and read some manga. Not to mention that having work now means less time for him to enjoy his hobbies. But on the bright side, with both of those things, he can at least spend some time with the Gyaru.
At least, he wishes that were the case when it comes to school. But since he’s not her only friend, not by a longshot, she’s usually spending a lot of time with other boys and girls. So that does give him some free time during the breaks to do some other things. Like read said manga.
However, as he sits alone at his desk, a small noise captures his attention. It sounds like music, and it’s something he’s gotten rather familiar with as well. This sound causes him to peek outside the window, where he see Otomore walking along outside, minding her own business.
It’s been a while since he’s seen her. After all, not being in the same class does limit meeting oppertunies. Though apparently not that much seeing as he’s run into Kinjyou and Koyamauchi a lot lately too. Odd, but not a big deal at the end of the day.
Either way, he runs down the steps and is barely able to catch her as she reenters the school building.
“Hey!” He has to yell for her to even be able to notice him from how loud she’s blasting those beats. Just how hasn’t this girl gotten in trouble yet? “How are you?” He asks.
“Fine.” She responds. “Um, I don’t think it’s lunch right now.” After all the times they’ve met, a fair bit of it has been lunchtime. Not to mention he is still known for running off to buy lunch for the Gyaru. “Hmm… Otaku?”
“Um, yes?” She sounds unsure about saying that word for some reason. It caused him a bit of worry that something bad might’ve happened.
“How come we call you that?” She says. As it turns out, the reason for her initial hesitance was she was about to call him by real name. However, she realizes that she doesn’t know his real name, just his apparent nickname that everyone calls him by. An odd nickname, since surely there are other otaku at this school. “What is your name?”
“My name?” He’s a bit caught off guard, but of course he knows his own name. “Right, my name’s Saki.” Finally, he gives the answer she realizes has been missing for a while now. “You see, the reason why everyone calls me that is because… Well, because she’s also names Saki.” Referring to the Gyaru, he points out the fact they share a name.
A funny coincidence, especially considering that these two couldn’t be possibly be anymore different. Which is why everyone at school calls them, the Otaku, and the Gyaru. A showcase of their differences, rather than their similarities.
“Ah, I see.” She understands now. “Well, then I’ll keep calling you Otaku too.”
