There is One New Rule Every Month Globally

Chapter 419: ?_4

Take our opponents this time, for example, are they strong?

Strong!

But we've been warring with the Mo Clan for so long, and they haven't wiped us out, have they? Instead, they managed to fight their way to their own base?

A Ninefold Planet, especially one inhabited by a race as deeply grounded as the Kui Race, who would think it easy to annihilate them?

Just as Jiang Chenglu was preparing to introduce Chen Yi to these eight individuals,

he suddenly found that the worried frowns and the gloom on their faces had all disappeared, as they all breathed a sigh of relief, their eyes shining with light, looking towards Chen Yi with a sense of barely concealed excitement.

"Yi is here, now we're secure!"

"Yi, you've finally come, we've been waiting for you for so long!"

"Wuu, Yi, do you still remember me? Right after you annihilated the Kui Race, I was the first one to send a message thanking you for relieving me of a great hatred."

"Look at me, Yi, when you promoted us to the Tenfold Planet, I was the first to be upgraded. Yi gives an order, who would dare to disobey?"

"..."

Jiang Chenglu's mouth slowly widened as he gazed, somewhat bemused, at these leaders who now seemed somewhat unfamiliar to him. They were now the leaders of the Tenfold Planet, officially holding the same rank.

Just a few days ago, they were still tangled up with him over which race to send to the most dangerous areas and were caught up in constant schemes against each other.

Every one of them was a seasoned schemer, irritating others with their craftiness and cunning.

Now, why had they suddenly turned into underlings, calling him brother Yi with such ease? The youngest among you is old enough to be Chen Yi's uncle; does it come naturally for you to call him "brother" so affectionately?

And if he wasn't mistaken,

did someone just say, after you annihilated the Kui Race? Indeed, the Kui Race was wiped out by Chen Yi? Annihilated?

Jiang Chenglu's mouth twitched slightly, as he suddenly began to understand why the people before him had suddenly sighed with relief. Having someone capable of single-handedly annihilating a Ninefold Planet joining them would certainly make them feel much less pressured.

It made him feel like things weren't so urgent anymore.

Yet he still couldn't get his head around it—how could a Ninefold Planet be so easily wiped out? What about their heritage? Their props? Their rule system props? Their Absolute Attribute props? Couldn't they use them to avoid just watching themselves be annihilated?

It couldn't possibly be the case that no matter what attack hit Chen Yi, he wouldn't react at all, right?

He suddenly felt that Chen Yi's statement from earlier—"theoretically, invincible"—might not have been boasting after all.

"Hmm."

Chen Yi, with one hand in his pocket, leaning on his cane, glanced over the people in front of him and said with a half-smile, "I just heard people saying that you were worrying about whether Emperor Jiang could hold up outside, feeling guilty day and night in the upgrade game and truly distressed about it."

"That's why you chose to advance to the Tenfold Planet."

"Preferring to die in battle with Emperor Jiang rather than lingering on in the upgrade game."

"Is that so?"

...

ps: Something's not quite right, I might almost be gone. The new book had been scheduled to launch on November 8th since last month. I thought to myself, with over forty days left and updating seven thousand words a day, that amounts to two or three hundred thousand words. That should be enough to complete the end of this book.

But... somehow, something went wrong.

Could it be that I've been dragging my feet a bit?

That shouldn't be the case.

The end has to provide a clear explanation for everything mentioned before. But judging by the current pace, it looks like I'll need another ten to twenty thousand words to wrap things up properly, and then there's likely another extra hundred thousand or so words for side stories.

I might be forced to work on two books at the same time for another seven or eight days.

No, that won't do!

I can't do two at once; trying to think about the plots for two books at the same time would overload my brain. I need to make an effort tonight and see if I can finish the ending.

Fuck.

Why does my PS always seem so lame? I really am a scrub!

-

Jiang Chenglu stood beside Chen Yi, pointing to the nine people as he spoke, "These eight are the leaders of the Ninefold Planets you forced to ascend, whose names need not be introduced in detail. With a total of eight names, even if I introduce them, Chen Yi, you wouldn't remember them."

"As long as I know roughly who they are."

The people below believed the nonsense these eight spouted.

But he knew very clearly that if it weren't for Chen Yi, these people would never ascend to the Ninefold Planet, preferring to live their whole lives in constant fear of accidentally holding their breath and ascending to the Tenfold Planet than to ascend voluntarily.

Although he was clear that these people were forced to ascend by Chen Yi,

he didn't understand why they were so obedient.

He could still guess a bit, though.

Before his ascension, there were a total of ten Ninefold Planets, and aside from his Mo Clan, there were nine other Ninefold Planets. Yet only eight have ascended here; the Kui Race is missing.

As soon as the Kui Race was mentioned, these people would fall into silence.

The strength of the Kui Race was roughly similar to that of these Ninefold Planets; there was no reason Chen Yi could force these people to ascend, and the Kui Race could hold out until the end.

If nothing was out of the ordinary, the Kui Race must have been made an example of—a scarecrow tactic.

In other words, they were simply annihilated.

But this speculation was still hard for him to accept, obliterating a Ninefold Planet seemed too sci-fi; he found it hard to accept.

Like their current enemy, were they strong?

Strong!

But their Mo Clan had been in combat for so long, hadn't they themselves wiped out tribes? Instead, they allowed their enemy to establish a stronghold?

A Ninefold Planet, especially a race as profound as the Kui Race, how could they be easily annihilated?

Just as Jiang Chenglu was about to introduce Chen Yi to these eight people,

he suddenly found that the worried and grim expressions on these people's faces instantly vanished. They all took a deep breath, their eyes shining brightly, and when they looked towards Chen Yi, they even seemed somewhat excited.

"Yi's here, now we're secure!"

"Yi, you're finally here. We've been waiting for you for so long!"

"Sniff, Yi, do you still remember me? After you eliminated the Kui Race, I was the first to send a message thanking you for ridding me of a great enmity."

"Look at me, Yi. When you ordered us to ascend to the Tenfold Planet, I was the first to do so. Yi's word is law—who would dare disobey?"

"..."

Jiang Chenglu's mouth slowly gaped open, somewhat baffled as he looked at these leaders who now seemed a bit unfamiliar. Now they were the chiefs of the Tenfold Planet, and ostensibly, they held equal status.

In the past few days, they had been constantly engaged in disputes with him about which race should be sent to the most dangerous regions, each scheming and plotting.

Each one of them was a crafty old fox, cunning and exasperating.

How come they suddenly turned into subordinates, with a "Yi" coming out of their mouths so smoothly? The youngest among you could be Chen Yi's uncle—how can you call him brother so naturally?

And if he wasn't mistaken?
