The Youngest Son of Sunyang

Chapter 35 It's Mine 2

"Alright. He's fine. Everyone, you can leave."

The secretaries released their hold on CEO Jo Dae-ho's arm and bowed their heads.

"By the way, prepare some coffee." Chairman Song spoke towards the closing door.

As Chairman Song Hyun-chang led CEO Jo Dae-ho to sit on the sofa near the entrance, he showed an awkward smile.

"I apologize. I've been quite preoccupied lately."

"No need to apologize, Chairman. I also read the newspaper. My visit was quite sudden."

"When was the last time we saw each other?"

"Two years ago, at the Automobile Association dinner gathering."

"Ah, right. I remember now. We met when they were taking a big bite out of association donations."

Both of their stern faces relaxed.

"How have you been lately? I heard you gave up your position as an automotive company CEO."

"I'm working at a packing factory these days."

"A packing factory?"

He had heard that he was pushed out of the company, but he hadn't expected him to be sent into exile like this.

Chairman Song frowned. "Chairman Jin really went too far. He had a position within the group... It was harsh."

Rising to the position of CEO of Sunyang Motors meant dedicating one's entire life to Sunyang. Even though he hadn't ruined the company, he had been driven out to an obscure shop, not even knowing why he existed anymore.

Chairman Song confirmed Chairman Jin's relentless nature once again.

"So, what's the reason for your sudden visit? I assume it's related to this?"

Chairman Song shook the newspaper, and CEO Jo Dae-ho nodded.

"Is it Chairman Jin's doing?"

"Probably."

"Why? Is he trying to swallow AJ Motors?"

"That's a possibility."

The media, Yeouido, and the Blue House all seemed to have turned their backs on him. With Chairman Jin's influence, it was more than possible.

"Why the sudden greed?"

"Winning through a fight is not only difficult but also time-consuming. I chose the path of winning without fighting, just as I have done until now."

Chairman Song Hyun-chang stared at CEO Jo Dae-ho intently and asked.

"I mean, what's the reason for your visit? It's not like an exiled retainer would come bearing a royal decree... Have you changed your allegiance?"

"Well, isn't it obvious why a commoner like me would show up out of the blue on a day like today? I'm here to request employment, and I thought today would be the most suitable."

"We don't have any plans to hire experienced employees... What should we do about this?"

Chairman Song shook the newspaper like a fan.

"When in a hurry, one might pull even a dead horse to work, so hiring an experienced worker isn't that difficult, is it?"

"You've become quite audacious, our CEO Jo. Haha."

"Having no food or dignity left makes you lose your pride. I'm embarrassed to say it, but it's the truth."

"A professional should have something valuable to offer. What do you bring to the table, CEO Jo?"

"I personally laid the cement at the Sunyang Auto Factory. I also signed the technology partnership agreement with Jo Insik."

"If that's all, it's disappointing. We have plenty of technicians ourselves."

"Under Chairman Jin's orders, I got my hands dirty with dirt, blood, and even dung. If I clean it all up and hand it back to Chairman Jin... The Sunyang Group won't be able to come out of the shower for a year."

"It seems that our CEO Jo is planning to wash away even the smell of the factory bonds this time."

CEO Jo Dae-ho smiled gently as he wiped his hands with both hands.

"Does my resume satisfy you at this point?"

"The resume looks good, but I'm not sure if there's a position that suits CEO Jo."

"Mr. Ahn Jin is Chairman Jin's right-hand man... So, even as a vice president, I'll be quite capable. I'd be satisfied with a salary equivalent to the Sunyang Auto CEO."

Chairman Song got up from the sofa, and CEO Jo Dae-ho also stood up.

"Are you going back to your hometown?"

"I'll give my regards to my ancestors."

"Well then, go visit your hometown first and talk again. Come back after resting your mind."

CEO Jo Dae-ho, with his head bowed, smiled and left the chairman's office.

Alone in the room, Chairman Song sighed deeply and buried himself in his chair.

After a long time, he lit a cigarette. He had a lot to think about.

"I've never really liked that guy...it seems my feelings won't change till the end."

Muttering to himself, Chairman Song summoned all the automobile executives through his secretary.

The executives rushed over, and upon hearing Chairman Song's explanation, they initially expressed their frustration. After calming down, they began to voice their opinions.

"If it's Sunyang, they'll use their financial power to push ahead. We need to start buying stocks to defend our management rights."

"Where will we get the funds for buying stocks?"

"We'll explore getting loans with our existing stocks as collateral."

"Yes, we'll need to be flexible with bank loans and cash, and use that money to shake up the stock market. If the stock prices go up, Sunyang will waver too."

The opinions were varied, but there was no strong consensus. Even after a fierce battle with heavy losses, there was no guarantee of the outcome.

Chairman Song presented a more challenging problem to the executives.

"Look at the news right now. Today is just the beginning. Are they going to shake me going forward? If they target my ethics, it's obvious that I'll be summoned by the prosecution."

There's no one who's completely clean. A CEO of a major corporation operating under a professional management system has been through enough to turn everything upside down.

Just a little push from a prosecutor's office could lead to charges.

"Why is no one saying anything? We have to protect the company, and it's okay if I get caught?"

"That won't happen, Chairman."

All the executives raised their hands, and seeing their reactions, Chairman Song chuckled and dropped another piece of information.
