The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix’s Novels Also Desires Happiness

chapter 102

Chapter 27, Blade of Blazing Fire

“Teacher.”

The barely audible whisper blended into the heart-wrenching cries.

This was not a waking of consciousness, but rather a girl’s instinct, etched into her bones after countless calls like this, now manifesting here.

【Teacher Prang, can I go out and play?】

【Teacher Prang, I scored a hundred in my martial arts exam, isn’t that awesome? I wonder when my magic exam can score that high, hehe, I don’t know.】

【Teacher, I didn’t start the fight! Those bad guys ran right into my fists.】

【Teacher, getting angry so easily will give you wrinkles, you know.】

【……】

【Teacher, I’ve decided I want to become a Holy Maiden in the future.

Want to know why? Because… because being a Holy Maiden sounds really cool, doesn’t it?

Wearing a pure white gown, smiling to bring salvation to the world under God’s guidance—then smashing all the bad guys with my fists, that’s just too cool.

Holy Maidens can’t get married? I don’t care, if I find true love, I will definitely pursue it bravely.】

【……】

【Teacher, you will bless me, right?】

Those voices from the past, never faded, echoed once again in his mind, so clear.

The old man paused, and then from his aged eyes, a lava-like fury erupted.

“God of Love! I—f*ck—your—mother!”

The old man let out a lion-like roar, those filthy words he had abandoned since becoming a teacher spewed from his mouth.

Flames surged in his palms, and the staff he usually cared for, inlaid with jewels, melted in the blazing fire, transforming into a twisted black blade.

The old man gripped the blade tightly, moving forward against the radiance of the Holy Sword.

Then.

The blade, infused with fire and hatred, was thrust violently into the girl’s chest.

This time it was the heart, precise and unerring.

Thus, in the old man’s other hand, the pink star staff, the core of the great secret device, trembled, along with the crown that merged with the barrier.

As if resonating.

The vast mechanism beneath the academy began to operate with an unprecedented vigor, a colossal force surging through the old man’s frail body, madly flooding into the saint’s form.

At the center of that heart which had long ceased to beat, layer upon layer of tiny yet intricate structures rapidly proliferated along the saint’s blood, flesh, bones, and skin, constantly searching, pressing, and then expelling the power and mark belonging to that corrupted god.

“Get out of this body, God of Love!” the old man roared once more.

As the power continued to pour in, the saint’s body convulsed and trembled, as if something was trying to escape and struggle within her, but was being gradually pressed into a smaller space by the intricate structures advancing inch by inch.

The cracks on the saint’s delicate face became increasingly clear, and from those cracks, a terrifying will of a higher order cast its gaze upon the old man.

Indifference.

Anger.

Then…

Mockery.

You have poured all your strength into this, does it mean that, on the other side, it is exceedingly weak?

In the next moment.

The saint suddenly retched, and then a grotesque lump of flesh was expelled from her, an eye appearing on the lump, but that eye merely cast a cold glance at Professor Plang before controlling the lump to fly towards the heavens without any reluctance.

The saint’s face gradually shattered, as if losing the support of some power, and her body began to wither and decay.

Watching that increasingly broken face, Professor Plang felt his heart twist once again.

But he quickly regained his composure, his gaze chasing after the remnants of the God of Love—the lump of flesh.

Above in the sky hung a blue full moon.

A chill suddenly arose in his heart.

Ignoring the wound at his chest, Professor Plang swung the pink star wand in his hand with all his might.

Endless structures stacked upon one another, rapidly chasing after that lump of flesh.

But it was too late.

Or rather, the God of Love was too decisive; after the first wave of assault was intercepted by Professor Plang, He unhesitatingly abandoned the precious body of the crowned one, rushing to urge the second protagonist of the day to make an appearance.

With a splat.

The lump of flesh smashed against the barrier.

Like a mosquito flying at high speed at night, it crashed against the glass.

The lump instantly shattered, turning into a puddle of flesh paste.

And within that flesh paste, suddenly, wriggling flesh buds began to rapidly grow, swiftly expanding along the barrier.

Like some resilient plant, it continuously burrows its roots into the barrier.

Crack.

Before Professor Plang’s attack could reach, a clear, crisp sound emanating from the barrier made his expression darken instantly.

A crack appeared on the barrier.

Just like a dam that once showed a leak, it becomes increasingly difficult to stop the impending collapse; a mass of fleshy buds crazily burrowed into the crack.

Thus.

Crack, crack, crack, crack…

More cracks gradually appeared. Even though the great magic instrument continuously poured in magical energy in an attempt to repair the barrier, those already burrowed fleshy buds acted like shells embedded in flesh, preventing the barrier from healing.

And outside the barrier, the enormous blue moon grew ever clearer.

A beam of moonlight seeped through the gap in the barrier.

Then two beams.

Three beams.

Countless beams.

Until it was permeated with a thousand holes, that barrier resisting the blue moon ultimately shattered completely.

Thus,

A gigantic blue moon, having occupied half the sky, appeared above the entire St. Maria.

The moon was so immense that everything in the world seemed so small before it; thus, the circular mountains and shadows on its surface were particularly clear, subtly forming a grotesque face.

And under the illumination of the moonlight, countless shadows on the ground began to sway, like malevolent spirits sensing the scent of blood and flesh, wandering in this desolate academy.

Gazing at the blue moon, Professor Plang felt a chill throughout his body.

The blood in his chest was still flowing.

It was precisely because of this that he felt a tangible despair.

Just facing the love god who descended through the medium, he had already exhausted all his strength and means.

So how should he respond to this terrifying existence that, due to the peculiar nature of its authority, had directly descended with part of its true form?

……

……

“I never expected that the Holy Maiden of Purity would also be tainted by the evil god.”

In the bell tower, Professor Glen watched everything happening in the arena, and even he, who was usually irreverent, couldn’t help but exclaim:

“However, with such a great cost, it seems these two are determined to obtain that thing beneath the academy. I really don’t know what they’re after.”

“The actions of the love god are understandable; from our human perspective, it is essentially a madman, so anything it does is not surprising. But what puzzles us is…”

From the darkness, the voices of other elders emerged:

“Another one, why do this?”

“……”

A brief silence.

The dim candlelight flickered, illuminating those extremely aged figures.

Most of them leaned on canes, their faces covered in age spots, emanating a scent of decay; some had only just been shaken awake from the coffins they had prepared for themselves.

Yet, even in their old age, these elders would not be looked down upon by anyone, for each of them was an absolute titan in their respective fields. Just uttering their names would cause a seismic shift in the academic world of the entire empire.

They were the true foundation of St. Maria Academy.

Seventeen lifetime professors of St. Maria Academy were gathered here, except for Professor Plang, who was still up in the sky battling the evil god.

When they made decisions here, even the academy’s president could not alter them.

PS: This book will mostly enhance the richness of the plot through supporting characters, and the main characters won’t suffer setbacks. After all, from my writing style, it’s clear this is a lighthearted and slightly absurd story, well, probably.
