The Witch’s Convent

Chapter 55: Confrontation with Cuivis

“Mission accomplished.”

Packing away the system, Hawthorne then walked around and noticed that the place was well-equipped, with tables and chairs for resting, four large barrels for holding hot porridge, a small cart for transporting between the porridge distribution site and the kitchen, and a stack of clean wooden bowls.

He picked up one of the wooden bowls and tossed it towards the muddy street of the slum. With a soft thud, it landed, and in the next moment, the small bowl transformed into a flash of white light and disappeared, while another bowl appeared in the stack behind him.

Seeing this, Hawthorne breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that it was good to not have to worry about people coming to take the bowls.

“Let’s head back,” he said next. “Remember, Heidi, if the other witches ask, just say that you and Yuta set this up together.”

Heidi smiled, “I remember, Master.”

The sudden appearance of a building might make some witches suspicious. But if two witches, the strongest under Selene, took responsibility for it, there would be no issues.

Having said that, they left the porridge distribution site together and walked toward the dormitory.

The convent was not large, but there were still two pine trees planted in the courtyard for decoration. The bright moonlight filtered through the branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Hawthorne and Heidi strolled along the gravel path in the middle, inhaling the faint fragrance emitted by the plants on either side, when suddenly they stopped, turning to look at the lovely girl beside them.

Heidi also halted, feeling his intense gaze, slightly lifting her head, her cheeks flushed with a hint of shyness. In her gentle eyes, the tranquil moonlight of the night was reflected.

“You seem to be doing rather well lately.”

Suddenly, an incongruous voice echoed from behind them. The two turned to see Cuivis approaching, her familiar mocking and spiteful smile plastered across her face.

Hawthorne's heart skipped a beat, but he remained expressionless and subtly took a half step back. Heidi quickly suppressed her overwhelming emotions, stepping forward half a step to block his figure, and tried to keep her voice calm: “What do you mean?”

“What do I mean?” Cuivis sneered, “Isn't it about this little white mouse you’re keeping? Oh, he looks really beautiful. Just looking at him makes me want to grab him and see what happens if I inject him with a kilogram of aphrodisiac, just to hear how delightful his cries would be…”

“Cuivis!” Heidi’s voice suddenly turned sharp. “I have not broken any rules, nor have I provoked you, right? I warn you, do not think about my people!”

Seeing her sudden outburst, Cuivis raised an eyebrow and sneered again: “Not broken any rules? You’re going to be distributing porridge in a couple of days, and you let a man roam freely in the convent, letting those worthless people coming for porridge see him? Isn’t that going to tarnish our reputation, even raise suspicions about us?”

Heidi coldly stared at her: “If anyone starts peeping inside the convent, then they should have already begun to suspect us. A person recovering in the convent is completely irrelevant.”

“Don’t try to threaten me this way. I manage my own people just fine; I don’t need you to point fingers!”

She realized that Cuivis was also attracted by her Master’s charisma, and was trying to use this approach to extort him, wanting to take him to her room to play with him.

However, Heidi, who was equally adept in verbal confrontations, was not falling for it at all.

After a pause, she suddenly smiled slightly, “But there is one thing you said that is quite true. His voice is truly pleasant to hear. Every night, holding him while sleeping, inhaling the fragrance of his souls, I feel completely full and satisfied…”

She displayed a smug and superior expression, which made Cuivis secretly grit her teeth. She let out a quick cold laugh, “Oh, how impressive. Heidi, don’t think I can’t smell it; you’re covered in his scent!”

Heidi furrowed her eyebrows again as Cuivis continued to mock, “You actually have done those kinds of things with a human. Is this really our proud and unyielding deep-sea witch? Ha, is it true that the nobler the witch, the deeper they fall, even seeking pleasure beneath a human?”

“Hehe, in a few days, will I see the mongrel dogs of the slum coming at you one by one?”

Saying this, Cuivis seemed to get excited, the yellow vertical pupils in her eyes shimmering with excitement, her voice quivering slightly, “I tell you, Heidi, you might as well bring a mongrel dog into the convent and let it satisfy your desires!”

“That way, even if outsiders see it, they’ll just think you’re taking care of small animals and won’t suspect us of improper conduct, not implicating us, right?”

Heidi’s eyes burned with intense flames, her breath quickening, her full chest rising and falling.

She didn’t care if Cuivis insulted her, but she couldn't accept this person putting her Master on par with a mongrel dog!

Master is more noble than the gods above, the supreme existence in this world!

She was extremely angry; however, she knew now was not the time to turn against her.

She gritted her teeth silently, and seeing Heidi so angry, Hawthorne silently thought to himself, “Mock her strength and her figure!”

The witches can freely transform into human form, but they can’t change into just any shape; there is an optimal form that best expresses their inherent power.

For instance, Heidi could make her chest smaller. But if she did, her combat effectiveness in human form would be significantly reduced, perhaps only ten percent of her current strength.

The same concept applies to Cuivis.

Although now wasn’t the time to break things off with the sharp-tongued witch, having some fun with her verbally using his knowledge from his previous life wasn’t a problem.

Heidi took a deep breath, then looked at Cuivis with sympathy on her face, “It’s truly sad, Cuivis. Did you hone your tongue to such sharpness to make up for the fact that your attacks can't harm me?”

“I must admit, your verbal skills aren’t bad. But too bad, when I see your puny figure, all my rage just fades away.”

She said this while patting her own full chest, then burst into hearty laughter, “Next time you say such things, try padding your chest with a couple of stones first. Oh, I've heard that drinking a kilo of hot milk every day helps with chest development.”

“Hahahahaha…”

Laughing, she turned, took Hawthorne's hand, and slowly walked away. Behind them, Cuivis stood in place, eyes wide with anger, breathing heavily, “Heidi, you bitch—!”
