Chapter 92 Rampaging Orb
"Aleshia, pick it up, pick it up!" Lucia shouted in a panic upon seeing the devastation caused by the orb. She urged Aleshia to pick it up, but Aleshia stood there frozen for some reason. Realizing that Aleshia wouldn't do anything, Lucia tried to levitate the orb off the ground with her skill. To her surprise, the orb seemed to have absorbed the energy that influenced the skill to work. The orb being capable of absorbing such unexplainable energy meant that the only way to stop it was by physical means. Understanding this, Lucia immediately readied her magic.
Instead of trying to stop the rampaging orb, she shot a tiny bolt of mana directly into Aleshia's system to awaken her frozen body. Aleshia jolted as the mana slithered through her system, causing her to regain her senses.
"Thank you, Lucia. It seemed my body was too afraid of the orb and wasn't letting me move until you shocked me," Aleshia said.
Aleshia lunged toward the orb, swiftly closing her fingers around it. As Aleshia recognized the orb caught in her grasp, her fingers quickly tapped across it for several seconds. Each second felt like a minute as she concentrated on the task. Aleshia's focus on the orb never wavered. After several intense moments, it finally produced a click, indicating the end of the debacle.
Aleshia and Lucia breathed a sigh of relief, signaling the end of the ordeal. After calming themselves down, Lucia brought up the idea she wanted to convey to Aleshia before the whole mess occurred. "This incident has reminded me of something I wanted to talk to you about. Judging by the dead grass, we can assume the orb can absorb any life force or energy if it is close enough to it. And if we use that strange power against the mist."
Before Lucia could continue, she was interrupted by Aleshia. "So, with that information, are you suggesting we try using the orb's functionality against the strange mist in hopes of stamping it out?" Aleshia proposed. "Ye-yes," Lucia was surprised that Aleshia caught on so fast to her idea, stammering as she spoke. However, she warned Aleshia of the plan's shortcomings. "That is the plan, but there is only one flaw, as I discovered earlier. If you drop the orb while it is active and you freeze again, I won't be able to deactivate it unless I leave your body, which I can't do because of your previous warning."
