The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 215: Chapter 226 Worth it

After taking a shower, I walked out of the bathroom wearing only shorts and slippers.

Although Carl is only twelve years old, he doesn't have a big belly like other children. He has some muscles, but they are not exaggerated, almost like he is thin.

But compared to being thin, Carl seems to have a little more curves, and his body is very well-proportioned.

This is thanks to Carl's healthy eating and lifestyle habits.

"Damn it, Carl, you came out without even getting dressed."

Beth, who was sitting on the bed, rolled her eyes at Carl in annoyance.

"I only brought shorts, where are my clothes?" Carl smiled indifferently.

"Yes." Beth pointed to the bed, picked up her clothes and walked towards the bathroom.

"Do you want to take a shower?" Carl asked as he put on his clothes.

"if not."

"Didn't you take a shower this afternoon?"

"You can wash it, but I can't wash it?"

Beth snorted softly, walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

Carl looked at the bathroom and smiled, but then restrained himself in an instant. Carl knew that Beth was trying to accommodate him.

There are some touching moments and many details, and Carl knows that his feelings are worth it, and they are meaningful only when they are two-way.

Looking at the bed and listening to the running water in the bathroom, Karl was not very sleepy.

After returning from the afternoon with Beth, we chatted for a while and then went to take a shower. Then we snuggled in bed, chatting and eating snacks, and fell asleep before we knew it.

I roughly estimated the time and it seemed that I had slept for about seven or eight hours. I was not sleepy at all.

So Karl pushed open the door of the study, and looking at the dark study, Karl was slightly startled.

It was this study room where I used to spend a few hours or two every night. It was such a familiar study room, but after I came back I didn't even have time to take a look at it.

It is true as Beth said, there is still a lot to do.

At least there are some people I need to meet. Moore and Daryl have been looking for me. I really should meet them. I have never met my mother Lori. And Judith...

But are these important? It's hard to say, but for Carl, at least not as important as Beth. The first day after returning, staying with Beth all day, this is the most ideal first day back for Carl.

As for the rest, there is no rush, there is still plenty of time.

After the hidden danger of Woodbury is resolved, the prison should be able to develop stably.

Walking closer to the desk, turning on the desk lamp, and looking at the familiar notebook, Karl was slightly stunned.

It's still in the same place?

I couldn't help but pick up the notebook. There was a gap in the middle. I naturally opened the page and found a piece of paper inside. It was the paper torn from this page of the notebook.

Carl was stunned. He knew that this piece of paper was the one he had left behind.

Placing it on the table, his eyes paused slightly, looking at the somewhat blurry black mark, Carl couldn't help but smile.

I slowly read through the words I left behind, and opened the notebook. The previous page was my last day's diary, and the next page...

Karl casually turned to the next page and was slightly stunned. There were actually words on it?

"Your persistence will be continued by me"

—Beth Green

You broke your promise. You clearly promised me. But it doesn't matter. Who hasn't broken a promise a few times?

Carl, I get it.

As long as you come back, Carl, as long as you can come back, I won't blame you, and you understand, you finally understand.

You will come back, I believe.

"repair"

Carl was slightly stunned. He read one article after another, a total of six pages, all of which were marked with "supplement". Perhaps the continuation was only started after Beth's emotions had been sorted out and stabilized.

Although there aren't many words, with some pages containing only a few sentences, there is nothing missing day by day, even if it is supplementary.

Carl continued to flip through the notebook. The more he flipped through it, the more words there were at the back. It seemed that they were all written every day.

There was a page and a sentence that moved Carl.

"I'll hold your hand and you can walk with me. In this way, I'll walk you instead of Carl and you'll walk me instead of Carl."

He closed his eyes slightly, hiding the tears.

He continued to flip through the pages, and found that there were a lot of things written. Before this, Carl had never had a clear idea of how long he had been away.

And now, Carl understood that every time he turned a page, it seemed as if he saw the days that Beth had gone through.

I seemed to have seen countless nights and days, and Beth's melancholy eyes were looking forward to something in a certain direction.

Carl seemed to see Beth's mood day by day, happy or sad, and when she was happy, Carl felt like she was forcing a smile.

I rubbed my eyes and turned the page again, and finally the long-lost blank space appeared.

Karl was slightly stunned. The date on the previous page was August 23. Did he have to leave for almost half a year?

It took so long...

Beth really persisted for that long.

So today should be August 24th, no, it's already past midnight, so it's the 25th.

It seems that my return almost broke this persistence.

Karl shook his head and sat down in his seat. He didn't know how long he had been watching. Anyway, his legs happened to be a little sore.

Pick up the pen and start writing, and you shouldn't stop.

"Thank you for your continuation. This is my luck, and yours too. Meeting you is a kind of luck."

After writing this sentence, Carl began to write the date.

August 24

I came back, I saw you, I hugged you, I kissed you.

Everything seemed to have found meaning, no matter what it was, it was worth it.I...

Suddenly, Carl's hand holding the pen shook.

The pen fell on the notebook, and he held his head with both hands and pressed it directly on the table, looking a little painful.

"Karl, what's wrong with you!"

Beth, who had finished her shower long ago and had been hiding behind the door watching, hurried over and held Carl's shoulders.

Carl's head trembled, and he looked up at Beth. His headache suddenly felt much better, and he hurriedly grabbed Beth's hand, which seemed to be even better.

Beth seemed to understand something. She stood beside Carl's chair and hugged Carl. Carl also sat there hugging Beth with his head resting on Beth.

The faint fragrance seems to be able to enter my heart, making me feel much better.

"Carl, are you okay?" Beth asked softly and gently.

"No, I'm fine. I just had a sudden headache. I feel much better holding you." Carl rubbed his cheek against Beth.

"Damn, Carl, do you think I'm ibuprofen? I can't cure headaches." Having said that, Beth still hugged Carl tighter and patted him on the back.

"You work better for me than any panacea."

"Damn, Carl, there you go again." Beth couldn't help but smile.

Carl smiled, raised his head, and slowly left Beth's warm embrace. "This time there is really no falsehood, it's just a little hard to explain, but have you been peeking just now?"

"Who wanted to peek at you? It was obviously you who was reading my diary!" Beth was quite dissatisfied.

"Thank you, Beth. Do you know how touched I am? This is something I dare not hope for. Before this, I just wanted you not to forget me, and I would be satisfied."

"Are you so touched that you have a headache?" Beth teased, and then asked worriedly, "I remember you didn't have a headache before. What's going on?"

"etc."

Carl added a sentence to the end of the notebook.

This is a day worth remembering.
