Chapter 131: Chapter 131: The Cat Goddess Conjecture
Chapter 131: The Cat Goddess Conjecture
Although the phenomenon before him was unexpected.
Dark Demon didn't stay stunned for too long.
After coming to his senses, he immediately sketched the outline of the humanoid light Gatomon had evolved into from memory.
It wasn't an eight-winged archangel like Angewomon, nor was it a form with distinct features like LadyDevimon.
It was a slender humanoid with two cat ears and two cat tails!
Dark Demon's knowledge of "Digimon" was actually quite limited. He frowned and looked at it for a long time but couldn't identify the main body from this outline.
"Not Angewomon, not LadyDevimon? What else can Gatomon evolve into? Nefertimon? That's not right either... Ahhh! My head hurts!"
Just as he was worrying about this, Gatomon's eyes filled with an intensely thick aura of [Lust].
It clutched its head, curled into a ball.
Pride and [Lust] entangled.
Light and darkness struggled.
The chaos gradually intensified.
By the time Dark Demon noticed, its eyes had turned one black and one white.
Pride had also been corrupted.
"This phenomenon?"
Dark Demon quickly picked up Gatomon to observe it carefully.
This time, Gatomon, though letting out a slight humph, didn't show any signs of refusal.
One person, one cat, drew extremely close.
It wasn't until a cold tongue licked his cheek that Dark Demon finally confirmed Gatomon's current state.
He gently stroked Gatomon's tail, thinking:
"Although the refinement materials included the Fruit of Pride, the Holy Ring on Gatomon's tail still indicates it belongs to the light side."
"And [Lust III] can make DemiDevimon evolve into BlackGatomon, which shows it belongs to the dark side."
"One black and one white, is it a fusion of light and darkness? An integration of angel and demon, Mastemon?"
"That's not right either. Mastemon is a Mega level! It's the fusion of Angewomon and LadyDevimon, not Gatomon and..."
"Could it be that Gatomon and BlackGatomon can also undergo Jogress Evolution?"
Dark Demon's eyes lit up; he felt he had finally grasped the key to the matter.
Although this evolution had failed, it indicated a possibility.
Just as Angewomon and LadyDevimon could undergo Jogress Evolution into a Mega level.
Gatomon and BlackGatomon should also be able to undergo Jogress Evolution into an Ultimate level!
The next question was, how to make Gatomon and BlackGatomon undergo Jogress Evolution?
[Fusion]?
"Does this card exist in this world?"
While thinking, Dark Demon very naturally began to pet the cat.
Although Gatomon's mouth was tightly shut, its expression clearly showed enjoyment.
Dark Demon suddenly felt a tug on his pant leg, lowered his head, and picked up Catnip Grass as well.
One in each arm!
Gatomon's "tsundere" state lasted for about sixteen minutes before it let out a "meow" and sobered up.
But although its eyes had returned to normal, it still lay on Dark Demon's lap without moving.
Evening.
Students arrived at the cafeteria earlier than usual; double homework was clearly not enough to dampen their enthusiasm for adventure.
Dark Demon sat by the window to eat, able to hear students on both sides discussing tonight's secret passage adventure.
Although senior students had been allowed to venture into the dungeons on weekends, the secret passages in the castle held a different meaning.
From some of the intelligence he overheard, he discovered that it wasn't just him and Emma who had made gains.
It seemed someone had found lost paintings, rare copies of ancient books, special magic tools...
Although those things disappeared after a while, they still became treasures that stirred people's desires.
Even if useless, they could become topics of conversation, something to show off for a while.
Not to mention, the significance of some antiquities was indeed extraordinary.
Arriving at the library again, Dark Demon had a clear purpose.
He needed a [Cursed Pen] and a [Fusion].
[Cursed Pen] definitely existed; [Fusion] needed to be verified.
But before that, as a student, he had to complete his duties first.
Of today's three classes, apart from the first arithmetic class, Magic Theory had only assigned a task, and Magic History had no homework.
But the arithmetic homework alone was a triple load.
And the post-class task for Magic Theory, though seemingly inconspicuous, actually required a lot of time.
Dark Demon, having finished the problem set in advance, still spent a quarter of an hour to finish the rest of the homework. It was hard to imagine how long it would take other first-year students.
Not to mention those kids who were late and had double the work...
"Didi's malice!"
After a slight complaint, Dark Demon put away his homework, preparing to walk out of the reading room and roam the ocean of bookshelves.
But Emma had clearly been watching him; she came over as soon as he finished his homework.
Reminded by her, Dark Demon remembered the matter and lent her the notebook where he had copied the mural.
Receiving the notebook, Emma's face lit up with joy. She bowed slightly and said thanks, "Thank you. When I have some research results, I'll share them with you."
Dark Demon: "Uh."
Emma had already returned to her desk, chewing on her pen and battling with the material books she had found beforehand.
Her understanding of the mural seemed to be a bit better than Dark Demon's; she already had a target.
Dark Demon glanced over and saw that those material books were historical accounts of a certain era.
St. Marian's library held almost all the books in the world.
Students could always find the books they wanted among them.
Dark Demon hadn't found it problematic before, but now, having learned the castle's location and part of its significance, he found it terrifying to think about.
Three hours later.
Walking out of the sea of bookshelves, Dark Demon held two more books.
One was "The Three Thousand Marvelous Uses of the Cursed Cage."
The other was "On the Extraordinary Characteristics of Fusion Series Decks."
Indeed, this world had fusion.
A duel without fusion was no duel at all.
The night was already dark.
The reading room was almost empty.
In this corner, only a girl with fluffy hair and a boy with meticulously neat blond hair remained.
It was quiet all around, only the "shasha" sound of a pen tip touching paper.
Nobles' House, common room.
Diana was playing magic chess with Rose.
Though she lost repeatedly, she fought on.
The two had done homework in the library for two hours, but their "homework helper" had gotten lost in the sea of bookshelves and hadn't even shown his face.
Diana's spirits were low. She asked casually, "Rose, of those five universal spells, which one are you going to make first?"
Rose frowned and thought for a moment, "I want to make the Fade Charm, but that seems especially difficult. Maybe I should start with something simple, like the Push Charm?"
Diana: "Huh, I guess so. I originally wanted to make the Blink Charm, but I probably can't do it well, right?"
Rose nodded: "Blink Charm is also good; it can blink forward one to three meters, very high tactical value."
Diana: "Let's just do Magic Missile Charm!"
