Chapter 128: History is Eternal, Heroes Never Fall

Faced with Dark Demon's sudden question, Professor Kazel couldn't help but frown, "This is not something you should know."

Dark Demon, however, believed he had found the key. He immediately said, "Professor, I don't intend to delve deep."

"Let me think."

He leaned back in his chair, tapping the desk with the knuckle of his middle finger.

As the hands on the clock ticked by, the atmosphere in the office grew increasingly heavy.

Professor Kazel finally spoke; "Since your curiosity has been piqued, you can always find related literature. However, I must remind you, while I believe you know how to avoid danger, other students may not, so you had best keep what I'm about to say locked away."

A smile touched Dark Demon's lips, "Professor, I know, my lips are sealed."

Professor Kazel ignored the deeper meaning in his words and continued, "I can't tell you much, just the answers to these two questions."

Dark Demon immediately perked up, listening intently.

Professor Kazel: "St. Marian's Castle does not exist in any location on the continent."

Dark Demon: "Isn't it north of the kingdom?"

Professor Kazel shook his head, "Of course not. What you see outside now is merely a true projection of the castle. The castle, in essence, does not exist on the kingdom's territory, so it is not subject to the kingdom's jurisdiction."

Dark Demon had never expected this answer; he was so surprised he forgot to drink his tea.

Professor Kazel: "You should know that the audience seats and the dueling field in the open-air dueling arena are not on the same plane. Those spectators from all over the kingdom have never truly entered the academy. The same goes for Traveler Street. The stone pier in the Lake Pavilion is one of the switching hubs."

Dark Demon asked in surprise, "Then where is the castle's true location?"

Professor Kazel: "On the axle of time and space."

Dark Demon was baffled, "And where is that?"

Professor Kazel: "A realm our knowledge cannot yet reach. We only need to know that the castle's establishment can be traced back to before the Old Days, and all history since its founding leaves an image within the castle. As for the authenticity of the imaging, that depends on the thickness of history."

Professor Kazel said no more, but his words opened up a vast space for imagination.

As Dark Demon left the office, he finally understood what Professor Didi meant by "replicating history."

Four eras ago, the legendary alchemist Martin had sacrificed 5,764,801 people to finally create a Moon God's Tear.

Professor Didi had used the castle's mechanism, cleverly utilizing the imaging of that piece of history, to infinitely shrink the scale of the sacrifice and ultimately obtain the same experimental result.

Although the amount of knowledge involved was something an ordinary person could never achieve in a lifetime.

But that was the general idea.

"In other words, the Moon Temple, the Goddess Statue, and last night's mural and Minotaur are all projections of history?"

Dark Demon's thoughts churned; he had never felt such a strong desire for knowledge about something before.

So much so that he had to use "Meditation Art" to empty his mind.

"Following the tracks of history, peeking at the truth amidst hesitation and mist."

"No wonder this era is named after St. Marian; this place truly is a sacred ground for the world."

"Whether it's Merlin, Dalton, Da Vinci... the vast majority of great magi who laid the foundations of magic came from St. Marian."

After a quick lunch, Dark Demon went to the library and spent a long time finding some books about time and space.

However, while he recognized all the words, he couldn't make any sense of them when strung together.

This quickly cooled his brain down, returning it to a normal state.

In the end, he only borrowed a copy of "The Biography of Merlin—The Greatest Magus in History."

This book would perhaps become his dedicated book for daily leisure for a long time to come.

Five minutes to two.

All the first-year students from the four houses were already seated in the classroom.

This wasn't common for students who tended to procrastinate.

But since this class was being taught by Headmistress Cynthia herself, it was perfectly normal.

The Headmistress's time was limited.

Until a new Magic History professor arrived, the first-years' Magic History classes would likely all be held in the same classroom.

The students from the four houses were separated into four distinct groups.

Dark Demon idly flipped through his textbook, his thoughts not on the upcoming class.

It wasn't until Headmistress Cynthia entered the classroom that he came back to his senses.

Today's Headmistress Cynthia was as composed as ever; it seemed the matter of the Moon God had been handled rather well?

Regardless, Magic History class finally started normally.

Unlike Professor Didi, Headmistress Cynthia didn't lecture from the textbook. She didn't even use a textbook, instead using the context of her personal experiences to faintly recount the hardships and setbacks of the era when the demon race still existed.

"Before the Hero, the Valkyrie, and the many other outstanding figures who ended the era of demons had grown up, St. Marian, as the bastion holding humanity's last hope, had been coveted and invaded by the demon race more than once."

"Our professors, in order to protect the next generation from the hands of the demons, made sacrifices no less than those of the heroes."

"But peaceful times always make people forget the sacrifices of the past and the cruelty of war."

"People also won't remember that what blessed us in the darkness was not a god."

"Magic History is the history from magic to magitech, and also the history of heroes writing their epics."

"Today, on a whim, I will speak of the history of heroes, starting with the Hero."

"The Hero—Virt Gold!"

No one would be uninterested in the hero who saved the world.

People could always find one they liked among the many heroes.

Although the Hero Virt was promoted as a typical hero, he was actually just one of many.

But today's topic was still the Hero.

As the Hero's son, Virt was clearly very excited, and the students' gazes towards him had also softened considerably.

However, different from what the students expected.

What Headmistress Cynthia recounted was the mischievous student days of the Hero Virt...

"No one is perfect from birth."

She probably wanted to instill such a philosophy in the students.

But the students didn't seem to get the point very well, and the classroom gradually filled with a joyful atmosphere.

Virt lowered his head deeply.

Despite this, Virt still showed the potential of a hero in the story.

Though Virt's face was flushed, he still listened very attentively.

Headmistress Cynthia would occasionally mention the Valkyrie, who was in the same grade as the Hero, and that was when Dark Demon listened most intently.

According to Headmistress Cynthia's description.

Perhaps no one would have ever thought.

That a little girl who liked knitting and daydreaming would eventually become the unwavering spiritual leader on the battlefield.
