A small golden head emerged from the eggshell. Its big, bright eyes darted around, glancing in every direction.

The little creature raised its head, its gratitude seemingly sincere, though inwardly it rejoiced.

With Luo Shen's protection, Su Chen couldn't touch it anymore.

Unfortunately, it had underestimated Su Chen's cunning.

It suddenly felt a force pulling it from Luo Shen's arms.

In a flash, it found itself back in Su Chen's large, menacing hand.

"What the heck!"

The little creature squawked in a panic. "Brother, be gentle! Don't crush me!"

It cast a pleading look at Luo Shen.

"Sister, save me!"

Luo Shen wanted to intervene, but when Su Chen shook his head slightly, she hesitated and bit her lip, choosing not to speak.

"Are you willing to become my contracted spirit beast?"

Su Chen's sword-like eyebrows rose as he narrowed his eyes, radiating an overwhelming aura.

The little creature stiffened, its childish voice full of defiance. "Granny is a descendant of the noble dragon clan. How could I stoop to being a spirit beast for a mere human?"
