The Vengeful Deceiver - Teen Wolf Fanfiction

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Fuck.

It wasn't supposed to go that way.

It was an easy task. Peter had found the bus driver, and they had attacked him as they had planned. It was the first step of their revenge.

But that fucking puppy had showed up and tried to stop them.

Wasn't he supposed to follow his Alpha? Why?

Peter immediately pushed her away, making her run from there. She couldn't risk being seen with the Alpha. So now she just had to hope that Scott hadn't seen her or smelled her.

She had to avoid him... but she could not miss school; they had attacked the man in the parking lot of the school. She had to act normal. She had to act innocent.

Scarlett couldn't help but feel stressed about the situation. She had just made Peter attack Stiles. Those two were dorks, but they didn't seem totally dumb. If Scott had recognized her, it would have blown everything up.

Fucking werewolves.

"Hello, Scarlett," her fangs almost popped when she heard Evelyn's voice. The girl frowned.

"Wow," she said, crossing her arms. "Jumpy, are we?" Scarlett had to fight the urge to growl. She had no time for a smartass that day, but she bit her tongue.

"I'm having a troubled morning," Scarlett answered; Evelyn nodded lightly her head.

"How come?"

"Parents."

The two girls looked at each other, and Scarlett could not help but wonder what the deal was with that girl. What did she want? She didn't like how she always looked at her. Suddenly, though, a scent that she knew made her turn. She saw Stiles walking away from his jeep and looking in their direction before waving at them.

Alright, he was waving with a goofy smile. Was it possible that the puppy hadn't told him anything? Was it possible that Scott hadn't recognized her?

Scarlett waved back at him, trying to seem as normal as possible. Were they bluffing? Was he bluffing?

"You're spending much time with Stiles," at Evelyn's words, Scarlett turned her head to look at the girl.

"He's sweet," she answered with a fake smile.

"I know," said the girl with a little glare.

What's with this one?

Scarlett thought, fighting the urge to glare at the girl, just smile.

"Why do you sound so surprised then?" Scarlett asked, tilting her head, and Evelyn shrugged her shoulders.

"You're friends with Lydia."

"So?" said Scarlett with a frown, feeling confused. What did Lydia Martin have to do with that?

"Nothing," Evelyn answered. "Just something I didn't expect."

What is it with this one?

"Hello," Stiles's voice made the two girls turn to him.

"Hello, Stiles," said Scarlett, showing her white teeth at him, which blushed lightly.

"Hi," Evelyn said with a little smile.

"You both alright?" he asked, looking between the two, who nodded their heads.

"Alright, thanks," said Evelyn, making Stiles's lips form a smile before turning to Scarlett.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?"

He wanted to talk. Was it something to do with Scott? But he didn't seem agitated or scared. He was as goofy and dorky as usual.

"Sure," Scarlett said, turning completely towards Stiles, who smiled at her gripping the straps of his backpack before looking at Evelyn.

"Is it ok for you, Eve?" he asked. The girl looked from between Scarlett and Stiles for a moment before nodding her head.

"Sure," she said almost sweetly, "I've gotta go anyway. See you." Then she started to walk towards the school entrance.

Scarlett observed her; she didn't like that girl. She was far too annoying to her liking. But she decided not to think about Evelyn Davis for now, so she turned all her attention to Stiles.

"What is it?" she asked with a little smirk before noticing Stiles look up at the sky and then back at her. He did it two or three times, making Scarlett frown.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Sorry," he said, blinking his eyes. "Just... aren't you supposed to, like, burn?"

He was looking at the sun. That was what he was up to. She had to admit that that almost made her laugh.

"And here I was, thinking you would ask me out on a date." Stiles' eyes widened with a blush.

"No, I... I was just... I wouldn't-"

"You wouldn't?" she asked.

"Oh my God! No!" he said with wide eyes. "I would! Of course, I would!"

Scarlett smirked.

"So, you would," Stiles' cheeks painted with a dark shade of red, closing his mouth. His blood was pumping like crazy, and his embarrassment was evident, but that made Scarlett giggle.

"Please tell me you are messing up with me," Stiles said. "Cause I've just made a total fool of myself."

"Just a little bit," she said, shrugging her shoulders. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Oh yeah!" Stiles said, focusing back on the conversation. He surely changed his mood fast.

"I've got a lot of questions." His statement made Scarlett take a breath.

"I wasn't expecting that," she said sarcastically.

"I'm going to ignore you," he answered as they both started to walk towards the school. "You have to tell me everything. Where are you from? Why are you here? How old are you?" Scarlett let out a giggle.

"And you want me to answer them here?" she said, stopping to look at the other students. "With all these people around?" Stiles looked around, awkwardly waving at a boy passing by them.

"Yeah, it's probably not a good place."

"Probably," she said before starting to walk towards the entrance once again.

"But you promised," he said, running ahead of her to stop her from walking. He surely was persistent.

"Stiles-"

"Scarlett, come on," he interrupted her, "I'm dying of curiosity here. Scott wants to know, too."

The puppy? He had, of course, already talked to him about what had happened. She wondered if Scott was just curious about her story or if he remembered something from the attack on the bus driver. But was it possible that he hadn't spoken to Stiles about that?

"Okay, listen," she said, putting a hand on his forearm. "What about this evening? After school. You both can ask me whatever you want."

"Really?" he asked with wide eyes as a big smile appeared on his face.

"Really," Stiles giggled over exciting. He seemed so happy and he was too, she could feel his heart bit fast, like it was inside her chest. A strange warmth that she hadn't felt in years. What the hell had she done? Was it supposed to feel like this? This bond is one that the two of them now share.

"Alright," Stiles said, "What about my house? My dad will be home late."

"Yeah," she said, trying to hide her worries. "It sounds alright to me."

"Great," Stiles said with a happy smile, which she tried to mimic.

"I can't wait to tell... Scott?" Stiles's tone made her frown before she noticed that he was looking just behind her shoulders with a confused expression. Scarlett turned to see what he was staring at, to see Scott McCall getting down from his bike with a freak-out expression. His heart was beating like crazy, and Scarlett thought that even a human could have heard it. Scott was looking around, panicked, searching for something. Or someone.

Was he looking for her? Did he remember? He hadn't told Stiles, but he remembered? What should she do now? She didn't have to start like this. She had to make him hate the Argents and make him joying them, not starting with him seeing her kill some apparently innocent dude. She was so glad that her heart couldn't beat in her chest, or she would have given away the truth.

Scarlett tried to seem as calm as possible, but she was honestly scared about what the puppy remembered and what he could have said.
