The Unspoken Destiny

Chapter : The Yuanian History: Chronicles of the Past

The Yuanian Realm:

The Yuan is the most mystical and breathtaking of all realms, not only for its majestic landscape but for the peaceful coexistence of all its inhabitants. It was created by The Supreme Deity, the Creator. In the Yuanian realm the gods, magic commoners, and ordinary commoners—those without magical abilities— coexisted.

The Yuanian Realm is divided into four major loks1(worlds):

The Divine World – The sacred domain of the gods.

The Tianlok – The realm of magic-wielding commoners, those who possess a primordial spirit and cultivate their power.

The Bhulok – The land of ordinary commoners, mortals1 without magic.

The Underworld – Governed by the God of Death & Justice, it serves as the resting place for departed souls.

The Creation of Yuan:

The Yuanian Realm was created millions of centuries ago by the Supreme Deity. After crafting the land, he filled the Bhulok with mortals and mythical creatures, and created the gods to watch over them. However, an imbalance soon came into existence—the gods were vastly superior in power, and it could have led to unchecked dominance and disparity

To bridge this gap, the magic-wielding commoners came into existence. They were bestowed with the primordial spirit, allowing them to cultivate magic. With the worlds and beings now formed, the Supreme Deity left the world to grow and evolve on its own.

Yet, as time passed, the world changed. Beings evolved, and with them, six negative traits emerged—Greed, Wrath, Envy, Sloth, Lust, and Pride. The gods, content in their divine world, neglected their duty to oversee the mortal world.

Meanwhile, the Bhulok fell into chaos. Power struggles ensued due to the difference in abilities. The magic commoners, seeing themselves as superior, sought control over those without magic. Disorder spread, and the Bhulok fell into chaos.

The First Great Settlement: Witnessing the turmoil in his creation, the Supreme Deity intervened. A celestial Akashvani1—a prophetic voice from the heavens—echoed across the realm:

"Power comes with great responsibility. Those who forsake their duty invite discord. The Divines have failed to uphold balance. Therefore, I bestow authority upon the very essence of creation itself—the elements."

As the voice resounded, the five primordial elements—Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Ether—merged in the astral plane, forming a radiant figure. From this fusion emerged a woman of unparalleled beauty and power, Sian Yi—a being who embodied the elements themselves.

The Akashvani continued:

"As she is born of the elements, she is bound to all beings and understands their essence. From this day forth, Sian Yi shall reign as the sovereign of the Yuanian Empire, tasked with preserving the harmony of the realm."

"The Bhulok has suffered greatly due to the struggle for power. To restore balance, I shall divide the commoners into two separate loks.

Bhulok shall remain the domain of those without the Primordial Spirit.

Tianlok shall become the realm of those who possess it. Since mythical creatures are beings of magic, they shall also dwell within Tianlok."

With these words, the sky cleared, and the division of the realms was set in motion. Some families were torn apart, forced into separate worlds, but they accepted it as their fate. Life continued, and over the centuries, the mortals of Bhulok gradually forgot the existence of magic, reducing it to mere folklore and legend.

Thus, the Yuanian Realm found peace once more—at least, for a time.

However, due to an unknown conspiracy, the benevolent sovereign of Yuan, Sian Yi, met her demise. This led to another divine Akashvani, bringing forth The Second Great Settlement. The reasons behind it remain shrouded in mystery.

The Division of Yuan:

There Yuanian Realm was divided into four main loks(worlds) — The Divine World, The TianLok, The Bhulok and The Underworld. Let's delve deeper into each world to understand the magical realm of Yuan.

1. The Divine World:

The Divine World is the abode of the gods, each possessing unique powers associated with them. The vast domain is home to gods, demi gods, some mystical beings and spirits1. The Divine World consists of seven pavilions, each governed by a head god, with other major and minor gods, as well as demi-gods, residing within their respective pavilions.

All the divine beings1 have a mind sea2 along with a primordial spirit, making them immortal3. They can only die if they choose to, and can be reborn as long as their primordial spirit remains intact.

Other than gods, the Divine World is also home to some mysticals —some reside there because they are too weak to protect themselves, while others seek peace. The Divine World is open to almost all mystical beings and spirits.

The Spirits that reside here are, in fact, essence-primordial spirits. They possess immense power but can only unlock their true strength by attaining a high level of cultivation, which aligns with their age. Their growth is marked by metamorphosis1, gaining power at each stage of transformation. Before they can take human form, they must reach a certain degree of cultivation. These spirits are nearly immortal, as none have ever been witnessed reaching the end of their lifespan. They are capable of living for thousands of centuries—some are believed to have existed even before the Great Settlements. However, they are at risk of poaching and hunting by magic commoners, as consuming the essence of a higher-stage spirit can significantly enhance a magic commoner's primordial strength, making them far more powerful.

The Seven Pavilions of the Divine World are:

1.1 The Ruiyi Pavilion:

Guardian: Sian Yi (Current: Zheng Rui)

Perched at the highest peak of the Divine World, Ruiyi Pavilion is the most sacred of all. It is known for its crystal-clear waters, sapphire-violet skies, and eternal waterfall. The air is filled with the aroma of flowers, and the pavilion serves as a sanctuary for celestial balance, ensuring equilibrium in the realm.

The pavilion is home to Zheng Rui and Rang Mi, who were entrusted with overseeing the celestial balance under Sian Yi's guidance before her passing.

1.2 Yunshui Pavilion:

Guardian: Niruana (The Water God)

The Yunshui Pavilion is a magnificent palace of crystal-clear waters, endless waterfalls, and lush greenery. It houses the royal palace and various chambers, including the Divine Court, where gods convene.

Niruana oversees the water flows across two loks, assisted by other gods. Other notable deities include Wen Rui, the God of War, and Yang Zi, the Goddess of Essence and Emotion, who also reside here.

1.3 The Leiyun Pavilion:

Guardian: Ding Ran (The Thunder God)

Considered the most unpredictable region of the Divine World, the Leiyun Pavilion is known for its violent thunderstorms, lightning, and ever-changing skies. The gods here oversee rain, storms, and atmospheric phenomena affecting both Bhulok and Tianlok.

1.4 The Yanxiao Pavilion:

Guardian: Luo Yan (The Fire God)

The Yanxiao Pavilion is a land of dormant volcanoes, their peaks glowing with eternal magical flames of various colors, especially at night. This pavilion serves as a source of warmth for the entire realm.

1.5 The Mingzhu Pavilion:

Guardian: Zhen Ru (Goddess of Wisdom)

The Mingzhu Pavilion is a haven of peace and serenity, dedicated to meditation, cultivation, and knowledge. It is a sanctuary for gods who seek wisdom and enlightenment and serves as a guiding light for the mortal worlds.

The calmness of this pavilion speaks louder than words.

1.6 The Lingfeng Pavilion:

Guardian: Feng Xuan (God of Wind & Storms)

A place where the wind is ever-present, the Lingfeng Pavilion serves as a training ground for war gods and divine soldiers. The gods here oversee wind currents, air flows, and storms, shaping the weather patterns that affect both loks.

1.7 The Shiguang Pavilion:

Guardian: Bai Xue (Goddess of Space & Time)

Hidden deep within the Divine World, the Shiguang Pavilion contains vast halls where time is measured across different dimensions. A massive sundial at its center tracks the passage of time in the Divine World.

This pavilion is dedicated to gods connected to time and space, who ensure the continuity and stability of time across all loks.

2. The Tianlok:

The realm of Tianlok was formed after The First Great Settlement and is home to Mysticals, Elementals1—the sovereigns of the five provinces— and magic commoners. Some spirits also reside here in secrecy, seeking cultivation to ascend through the stages of metamorphosis.

When the Akashvani decreed the Great Divide, Mythical Beasts entered a sacred pact with the Elementals of that time. The agreement bound the Mythicals1 to serve as guardians, protecting the Elementals and their lands in exchange for a solemn vow that mysticals would not be hunted indiscriminately for their magical essence and supplies. Each Mythical chose a master, an Elemental who would rule the province under its protection.

The bond between the early Elementals and the Mythicals was one of profound trust and devotion. The Mythicals guarded their masters with unwavering loyalty, and in return, the Elementals cherished and honored their guardians. This resonance of spirit extended the lifespans of the Elementals, allowing them to live up to an average of 150,000 years—far surpassing the magic commoners, whose lifespans averaged around 17,000 years.

However, as time passed, the Mythicals aged and yearned for either the tranquility of retreat or eternal rest—the fulfillment of their destined cycles. Their departure was not solely due to the burden of time, but also the creeping darkness they sensed in the hearts of later heirs. As a result, they lost their purpose as guardians. Seeing a worthy ruler in Sian Yi, the Mythicals entrusted the fate of the provinces into her safe hands and departed from the realm.

Beings1 of Tianlok:

Mysticals: Successors of the Mythical Creatures, mysticals are beings capable of living for thousands of years. They are an invaluable source of magical energy, medicine, and rare materials. Some are even domesticated by magic commoners for these resources. However, no magic commoner may forcibly take these resources—the mysticals must willingly consent. If they refuse, magic commoners cannot retrieve these supplies, and in the worst cases, they may even be cursed, depending on the nature of their actions and the consequences of their conduct. This law is upheld by the sacred pact forged between the Mythicals and the Elementals.

Magic Commoners: Magic commoners are born with primordial spirit and cultivate their magic over centuries to refine their magical abilities. In Tianlok, age holds little significance—one's cultivation level determines their wisdom and strength.

Cultivation is measured on a scale from 0 to 100, yet only seven individuals, known as the Saptrishis (Seven Sages), have ever attained a cultivation level of 90 or above. None have ever surpassed 97. Magic commoners can wield their energy only through external conduits such as weapons, staffs, or wands. However, those who reach cultivation level 90 or higher can channel their energy directly through their bodies, transcending the need for external mediums.

The Tianlok realm consists of five great provinces, each governed by an Elemental(ruler) and once guarded by a Mythical Guardian. Numerous sects exist within these provinces, each specializing in a distinct art form. Every twenty years, a grand event known as The Great Sect Tournament is held, hosted by one of the provinces. This tournament serves as a sacred trial, assessing disciples of various sects in multiple disciplines.

The Provinces of Tianlok:

2.1 Province of Tianlong

Guardian: The Great Dragon

Though no hierarchy exists among the provinces, Tianlong was once regarded as the supreme province, acting as a mediator and de facto ruler over the others. In ancient times, its Elementals wielded immense authority. However, in the present age, all Elementals of Tianlong have perished, leaving the province without a direct ruler.

Since, there is no rightful heir, Shexing—the province that now holds the greatest power in Tianlok, governs the lands of Tianlong in their absence. The province has few sects, but those that remain are known for their formidable strength. The magic commoners of Tianlong possess unparalleled mastery over flight.

2.2 Province of Fenixia

Guardian: The Fiery Phoenix

Once the second most powerful province, Fenixia has lost much of its former glory. Today, it stands on the brink of uncertainty, for it has no heir. Its once-thriving lands have grown quieter, yet the province remains a great stronghold of fire magic and weaponry. The magic commoners here possess great power and control over fire.

Fenixia is known for producing some of the most powerful weapons in all of Tianlok, such as the Sword of Everflame .

2.3 Province of Kurma

Guardian: The Giant Turtle

Once the third most powerful province, Kurma has long since vanished from Tianlok. After The Second Great Settlement, it withdrew from the lok, concealing itself deep within the oceans of Bhulok. Its exact location is unknown, and its boundaries, hidden by powerful enchantments, are forbidden to all outsiders.

The Elementals of Kurma were blessed with extraordinary longevity—a gift from their guardian, the Giant Turtle, a revered symbol of endurance and time.

This province was once renowned for its potions, medicines, and rare herbs, making it the heart of alchemical knowledge.

2.4 Province of Shexing

Guardian: The Chthonic Serpentine

Once ranked as the fourth most powerful province, Shexing has now risen to become the most dominant force in Tianlok, even holding authority over Tianlong. Shexing's influence continues to spread, and some whisper that its rise to power may not have been entirely righteous.

This province is known for its mastery over venom-crafting, anesthetics, and poisons. Its Guardian, the Chthonic Serpentine, was once known for its wisdom and deep-rooted knowledge of forbidden arts.

2.5 Province of Huliya

Guardian: The Medean Deca-Tailed Fox

Huliya is famed for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. Many Mysticals choose to reside here, drawn to its vast enchanted forests. The inhabitants of this province are known for their enchanting beauty, and this province for the exquisite craftsmanship in the arts of jewelry-making, ornament crafting, and artifact forging.

At the heart of Huliya lies the Mystical Forest, a vast and enigmatic woodland so immense that it could be considered a province in itself. Its depths remain largely unexplored, shrouded in mystery. This ancient forest is a sanctuary for powerful elder mysticals and spirits—some believed to be in the later stages of metamorphosis—who dwell deep within its heart, beyond the reach of ordinary beings.

---------------------------------------------------

3. The Bhulok:

Once the dwelling of all mortal beings, Bhulok is now home only to ordinary commoners—those untouched by the essence of magic. This world remains oblivious to the existence of magical beings.

Following the Great Divide, all magic commoners migrated to Tianlok. However, in rare cases, a child may inherit a primordial spirit due to ancestral ties to magic commoners. Such spirits remain dormant until their twentieth year, at which time their presence is sensed by the Divine World. As decreed by The First Great Settlement, all who awaken their primordial spirits must leave Bhulok and ascend to Tianlok.

The lifespan of an ordinary commoner averages 120 years—a fleeting existence compared to the inhabitants of Tianlok.

Hidden within Bhulok lies the long-lost Province of Kurma. After The Second Great Settlement, Kurma withdrew into seclusion, its presence concealed from the world. The sects and magic commoners residing there do not participate in The Great Sect Tournament, nor do they interact with the outside world.

---------------------------------------------------

4. The Underworld:

Deep beneath Bhulok, where the sun casts neither warmth nor shadow, lies the Underworld—a realm of eternal dusk. Its lands are riddled with volcanic mountains, their fiery veins pulsing and erupting without warning, a constant reminder of the restless souls trapped within.

At its heart stands the Youming Pavilion, the only dominion outside the Divine World ruled by a god. Its sovereign is none other than Yama, the God of Death and Justice, who presides over the souls of the departed. Within his halls rests the Book of the Deed, wherein all karma—good or ill—is recorded without error, dictating the fate of each soul.

The souls of the underworld seek but one thing—Moksha, the ultimate liberation from the endless cycle of birth and rebirth. Yet, few attain such release. The rest are sent forth once more, their fates inscribed by the Fate Bureau of Mingzhu Pavilion, where their next lives are determined by the echoes of their past deeds.
