The Unleashed Spark

Chapter 8: Family Obligations

As we reached the hospital doors my mother sent me back to the car, obviously because like always she forgot something again and me being the perfect and only child had to go get it. Taking the bouquet of flowers from the back seat I locked the car heading back to the hospital, these flowers aren't even beautiful.. They're just like that-

"I'm sorry" I say immediately only to go in union, my life couldn't be more miserable.

I teared my gaze from the bouquet I was holding, it would've been much better if they were torn in this collision. I looked over at the girl who collided into me and amusement and surprise flashed through my features before I quickly composed myself. Damn, look who we met.... It wasn't that I knew her or anything about her, but at that moment I knew for sure.. She was the person I've been looking for the past two years.

"It wasn't your fault I wasn't paying attention"

"No, no, I wasn't paying attention either, was just too lost in my mobile" she spoke in a soft tone, well that's rare from what I hear every damn day.

"Happens sometimes, anyway I'm kinda in a hurry see you around" I regret saying that, at least I could've asked her name.

"Sure" she replied, walking to her own path.

"She's in a hurry too I guess" I murmur while walking ahead.

Reaching the room, I compose myself ready for the drama that awaits me. Pressing my palm on the door I pushed it open forcing a tiny smile on my face that soon disappeared as my eyes connected with the very person I hate, Park Aeri.

"Joshi-ahhhh, where have you been?" Aeri spoke in a disgustingly lovely tone. Her high pitch made me almost want to puke. When I remained silent my father looked at me with a stern glare which resulted in me rolling my eyes, I didn't care less, I would never talk to her if it meant having my own rules.

"I think Joshi oppa is tired eomma" Gosh that oppa sounds as disgusting as my own nickname coming out of her caked up lips.

Placing the bouquet down I turned my attention to my mobile trying my best to ignore my surroundings, what else could I do. This creature couldn't be trusted even if she was on her hospital bed with drips attached to her and I was sitting away on a sofa. She was never to be trusted. This must be the first time in my life when I was about to panic or even just have the feeling of it.

"Joshi take care of her, we'll just go for a stroll" my aunt said, looking at me as she packed her belongings.

A stroll? At the hospital?, am I going nuts or are they purposely leaving me alone with her.

"Yea and if she asks for something, the shop must be on the second floor and.. behave" My mother added with an ending stern glare.

I could've refused if it wasn't for my father giving me deadly glares, well we'll tag along. As soon as they left the room I threw my head down, giving her no attention and continued scrolling on my mobile.

"Joshi~" she spoke in an obsessed person tone. But I wasn't less.. I'll try my best to ignore her-

"Josh"

"Joshua" is annoying.

"Joshi" is more annoying.

"Park-"

"Shut up will you!" I snapped at her.

"Oh come on Lovely boy, what's with the attitude" Lovely boy!? The heck is wrong with her.

"The heck did you just call me"

"Why did I say it wrong, you're attr-"

"Listen to me, Iguana.. Say another word and I'll slice your throat myself"

She parted her lips to speak but stayed silent, only for now.. I know that, and she also knew that. I wasn't the type to kid with. I was damn serious and angry right now.

"Chill up bro"

"Oh so now I'm your bro"

"You're my ever-"

"Shut up" I groaned.

She rolled her eyes, giving me a cakey smile... but she remained silent. Goodness I just want to murder this... Whatever she is.

I slurped my drink as loud and slow as I can to avoid this conversation that was to take place when I finished. I fix my gaze on my straw not daring to look up so she can get any hopes. My ears perked up at the sound of a frustrated sigh, but I refused to give in... Just as I glanced down at my glass, my iced strawberry sherbet had only a quarter left, stealing a quick look at my mother, who was apparently looking out the glass wall, I raised my hand to call the waiter.

"Yes Sir-" Just as the words left the waiter's mouth my mother snapped her eyes to me, a deadly look in them.

"Don't you dare" she hissed at me, trying to yell but obviously she couldn't.. We were in public.

"One strawberry sherbet please" I said, not daring to peek a single glance at her.

"Joshi" she warned.. But the order was already placed.

Just as my sherbet was finished, I cast nervous glances around trying to find the waiter who had disappeared two minutes ago.

"This is your fifth drink!" she whispered yelled at me.

"Just one more mom"

"I have something to talk about!"

"I completely understand" I didn't, I knew what she wanted to talk about and I was purposely trying to spend time slurping my sherbet until dad called her so she could leave.

"You're going there no matter what, you hear me"

"I am not"

"Yes you are"

"No"

"Josh-"

"Mom, I barely know her. I know you're trying to bring a good impression, but it's awkward.. Especially for me, send the butler or whoever you want to her house. But. I'm. Not. Going" I tried, well tried my best to state my fact over why I can't go to her house, we never met for all I know and now she wants me to go to her house and convince her into coming to our house for dinner when she has clearly developed hatred towards this woman.

"Fine" my mother spoke while sipping my sherbet.

"Fine..... What?" yup, something was coming, either she will blackmail me now or threaten me. She never agreed that quickly and she was the perfect example of asian moms.

"Don't go, it's your choice anyway"

"Really.. Like I'll just not go.. And... You won't say anything... like.. anything?"

"Why would I say anything, you aren't even my son let alone I don't even know you, why would you listen to me, you can do whatever you want" she spoke calmly, she knew it.. And I knew it too.

"Sooo.... I'm free from your life and all" there was more.

"Yes,yes …perfectly free, I'll call Wonsik so he can cut off your allowance and maybe you can move out early"

I choked on my sherbet the moment she said those words. She was not serious, she would never do that, I was her only son, only heir to take over dad's business. But she wasn't kidding at the same time she could kick me out even if for some days or maybe hours.

"Just like that, you would kick your own son out, do you love that girl more than me"

"I never said that" my time to blackmail, but in the end she would always win. Because asian methods exist, uhm... even if by slippers or....

"Are you blackmailing me mom" it wasn't a question I asked her, it was a statement cause I already knew that.

"so you'll go hmm" wow, changed the subject real quick..

"I'll see"

"You'll see?" she cocked her eyebrow at me.

"Fine" I grumble, what else can I do.
