The Ultimate Red Dragon Emperor DXD

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Dragon God Possession, The Third Primogenitor Appears

Fourth Primogenitor's Ruins

Ermesilda Karnstein descended underground, pausing before a massive stone gate radiating holy light.

After studying it briefly, she turned to the blond man nearby. "What's the status?"

"Using a progress bar, we've cracked about 1% of the seal," Dimitrie Vattler replied.

"Too slow. Can't you speed it up?"

"It's already fast," Vattler shrugged. "This is the Biblical God's seal, after all."

"Honestly, without that person's help, we wouldn't even qualify to touch it."

"…Fine, I get it," Ermesilda sighed, accepting reality.

"On to business," Vattler said. "You're not here just to check progress, are you?"

Ermesilda nodded, pulling out two reports. "Humans have new reinforcements: the Red Dragon Emperor and the Crimson Princess."

"Also, the Black Death Emperor Faction's on the island. They're secretive—I couldn't gather detailed intel."

"Heh, heavy hitters," Vattler's eyes gleamed, his battle mania stirring.

The Crimson Princess, a top human candidate, and the Red Dragon Emperor, recently infamous, were prime targets.

As for the Black Death Emperor Faction…

Vattler stroked his chin, narrowing his eyes. Ermesilda's recon skills were top-notch, yet she had nothing. The faction came prepared.

"I can't hold the field alone," Ermesilda said. "I need you out there."

"Worst case, we'll need that person to step in."

"Got it. Let's take a walk," Vattler agreed.

But as he stood, an explosion echoed from a nearby passage.

"What?! How's that possible?!" Ermesilda's face paled, sensing something. "A barrier? When was it set?!"

"Seems the enemy's impatient," Vattler said, leading the way.

Ermesilda hurried after him.

They surfaced to a scene of raging firelight.

Familiar Beasts, brimming with mana, rampaged as beastmen wielding advanced weapons attacked.

Corpses of beastmen and vampires littered the ground, a hellish tableau.

"Those weapons… Takanotsume tech?" Vattler muttered, summoning three giant serpents to the fray.

His Familiar Beasts outclassed standard ones.

Within moments, most beastmen were annihilated, vampires regaining the upper hand.

"It's the Serpent Lord!"

"Don't retreat! Hold the line!"

"Call HQ! Request backup!"

Shouts rang out as the Black Death Emperor Faction fired at the serpents.

But against overwhelming power, their resistance was futile.

In under a minute, they were wiped out.

Vattler didn't gloat, instead turning to a nearby forest. "No hiding. Come out."

"Hm? You actually spotted me," a suited figure, out of place on the battlefield, emerged.

"You're… Shavliar Lien?" Vattler's calm shattered, pupils contracting in shock. "Why are you here?!"

"To claim the Fourth Primogenitor," Shavliar said, casually waving his right hand while the other stayed in his pocket.

Boom! Telekinetic force slashed down like an invisible blade.

Sensing danger, Vattler dodged, but the attack grazed him, leaving a deep chest wound.

"Cough, not bad," Vattler spat blood, summoning six more serpents, each unique.

That brief clash made the power gap clear.

To survive, he had to play his trump card.

Boom!

Mana erupted from Vattler, and he activated his Familiar Fusion ability, merging nine serpents into one.

"Reign supreme, Primordial Serpent!"

The nine Familiar Beasts intertwined, forming a serpent tree hundreds of meters long.

Roots and branches spread, encircling the battlefield, forming a toxic mist barrier.

"Its mana rivals a Primogenitor-level Familiar. Interesting," Shavliar said, intrigued.

Familiar Fusion was Vattler's unique skill, combining weaker Familiars for greater power.

Shavliar's intel noted Vattler fusing two or three Familiars, so he'd dismissed it.

Now, seeing nine fused into a Primogenitor-tier force, he took notice.

If nine elder-level Familiars surpassed a Primogenitor, what could nine Primogenitor-level ones achieve?

"Worth studying," Shavliar decided.

But as he prepared to destroy the Primordial Serpent and capture Vattler, new mana flared.

Both paused, turning to a magic array forming in a corner.

A faint spatial ripple appeared, and four figures emerged.

"Hm?" Shavliar's composure broke, mirroring Vattler's earlier shock. "Red Dragon Emperor? Why are you here?!"

"To claim the Fourth Primogenitor," Roy said, chuckling, summoning the Boosted Gear. "Came for the Vampire Alliance, but looks like a bonus prize."

"Shavliar, you kneeling to surrender, or do I kill you?"

"Don't get cocky!" Shavliar snarled, pushing his telekinesis to the limit.

Invisible blades tore through the air, leaving black scars in space.

But Roy entered Balance Breaker, drawing Gram.

Demonic power and purple flames coated the blade, shattering the telekinetic assault with a flurry of sword strikes.

Raising Gram, Roy fused demonic power and flames.

Boom! A hundred-meter purple-red slash shot forward.

"Damn monster!" Shavliar didn't block, dodging backward.

But hundreds of magic arrays bloomed in his retreat path.

Mana surged, and terrifying lightning crashed down.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"So strong!" Ermesilda, at the battlefield's edge, gasped, stunned by the mana flood turning the field into a meat grinder. "This is the Red Dragon Emperor? His reputation's earned."

Vattler was equally shocked but thrilled.

Mana surged as the Primordial Serpent spewed toxic mist.

A deafening dragon roar echoed.

A crimson meteor fell, flames incinerating the mist.

Stella appeared before Vattler, radiating overwhelming presence. "Your opponent's me!"

"The Crimson Princess? A worthy foe!" Vattler laughed, shifting focus from Roy.

The Primordial Serpent moved, countless serpents sprouting from its trunk, crashing down.

Stella didn't flinch.

Radiant light shimmered on her skin, mana igniting into flames.

Raising her hands, endless light formed a blazing sword.

"Dragon King's Heaven-Burning Flame!!!"

No holding back—Stella unleashed her strongest move.

Countless serpent heads were severed, the Primordial Serpent reeling, a near-piercing wound on its trunk.

"No way!" Ermesilda, poised to assist, gaped.

Before she could react, Stella appeared before the Serpent.

Explosions rang out as it crumbled under her onslaught.

"Not done yet!" Vattler poured all his mana into the Serpent, speeding its recovery.

It counterattacked, wounding Stella, but her injuries healed in a breath.

Ignoring the assault, she closed in, unleashing another Blade Blitz.

A blazing sword formed, and she slashed downward.

A deafening roar split the earth into a molten hell.

In the mana storm, the Primordial Serpent shattered, vanishing.

"It's over!" Stella landed, declaring victory.

"What a monster," Vattler panted, grinning. "Haven't faced someone this strong since devouring those elders."

He eyed the approaching girl, curious. "I heard you control flames. Seems the rumors were off."

"They're true, but I misunderstood my power," Stella said, stopping ten meters away, heat radiating. "Conceptual Interference: Dragon God Possession. I channel mythic dragon power. That's my true ability."

"Dragon power? First I've heard of it," Ermesilda said, eyes wide.

"Dragon power… so your flames were dragon fire," Vattler chuckled, understanding her mistake. "Humanity's strongest candidate… you're beyond 'candidate' now."

"Still far off," Stella said, glancing at the main battlefield.

In the minute she fought Vattler, the central conflict escalated.

Shavliar, ignoring mana floods with his modified body, kept attacking.

Roy, dominant in melee and range, overwhelmed him.

Both outclassed her.

"Enough talk," Stella said, facing Vattler and Ermesilda. "No deep grudges, so I won't wipe you out."

"Surrender now, and I'll spare you pain."

"Merciful, huh?" Vattler shrugged, glancing at Ermesilda.

"What do you think?"

"No choice," Ermesilda said, grimacing. She could only bully vampire grunts. Vattler lost, and she, a recon specialist, stood no chance.

"Call that person?" she asked.

"No need. With this chaos, she's already here," Vattler said, shaking his head. Taking a deep breath, he called out, "Lady Giada! Stop watching."

"If you don't show, we'll have to surrender."

Another enemy?

Stella, thinking victory was hers, frowned, scanning with her senses.

She turned to a corner, detecting an unfamiliar presence.

"Yo, Crimson Princess," a girl identical to Stella, with crimson hair, waved.

Stella's brow furrowed, then her expression hardened. "Stop pretending! You're Chaos Princess Giada Kukulcan, aren't you?"

"I heard you can shapeshift into anyone!"

"Pity. Wanted to surprise you," Giada shrugged, her form blurring.

Stella vanished, replaced by a girl with pale green hair.

"It is you!" Stella's expression grew graver.

Unlike Vattler, who needed fusion for a Primogenitor-level Familiar, Giada, the Third Primogenitor, commanded twenty-seven such beasts.

If she went all-out, even Stella's Dragon God Possession might not win.

"Relax, Crimson Princess," Giada said, sensing her tension. Turning to the main battlefield, she added, "I'm more interested in that."

Boom!

An ear-splitting explosion rang out.

A figure crashed into the ground, forming a massive crater.

As smoke cleared, Shavliar's black-metal body appeared, battered.

His clothes were tattered, his metal frame scarred.

Demonic power slowed his wounds' healing.

"Hm? You're here too?" Shavliar said, noticing Giada.

"Visiting the Fourth Primogenitor, maybe fishing for a big catch," Giada said, eyeing the crimson figure descending. "Looks like I got lucky."

"Funny, I was thinking the same," Roy said, glancing from Stella to Giada and Shavliar. "Ready?"

"Time's about to speed up."
