Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Yhwach Awakens, Issei Hyoudou’s New Entry
Invisible Empire
In a grand palace, Yhwach sat calmly on his throne, eyes closed as if dozing.
Below, the Sternritter stood in neat rows, all present.
After some time, footsteps echoed.
Haschwalth entered, kneeling before Yhwach. "Your Majesty, I've returned."
Yhwach opened his eyes. "Report your progress, Haschwalth."
"The plan started smoothly," Haschwalth said. "As Aizen predicted, Rukia Kuchiki returned to Soul Society."
"But she displayed unexpected strength, delaying Gin Ichimaru's takedown. This allowed Yamamoto to intervene, sensing something amiss."
Per Yhwach's orders, Haschwalth recounted the events.
He then presented a glass vial. "Your Majesty, this is the Infinite Serpent, acquired from Aizen as agreed."
"I've verified it—high quality, untampered."
"Well done," Yhwach said, taking the vial.
A surge of spiritual pressure erupted as a miniature pentagram array formed, the Auswahlen's light enveloping the serpent.
The serpent dissolved into reishi, absorbed by Yhwach.
Soon, it vanished, and Yhwach's aura spiked.
"Congratulations, Your Majesty," Haschwalth said. "You can now shed your weakness and return to your peak."
"Not quite," Yhwach said, crushing the vial, his pressure surging. "One month. I need one month."
"Haschwalth, the Invisible Empire is yours for that time. Unless the Red Dragon Emperor or Ichigo Kurosaki arrives, let no one near me."
"Yes, sir!" Haschwalth replied respectfully.
As Yhwach closed his eyes, Haschwalth signaled the Sternritter to gather in a side hall.
"Haschwalth, what's up?" Buzz-B leaned against a wall, hands in pockets.
With Yhwach absent, the Sternritter were casual.
Beyond Buzz-B, others lounged, equally relaxed.
"I want to discuss the Red Dragon Emperor, Roy," Haschwalth said.
"Again?" Buzz-B frowned, annoyed.
This was Haschwalth's fourth meeting about Roy.
Buzz-B admitted Roy was strong—most Sternritter couldn't match him.
But…
"We've already settled on handling Roy," Buzz-B said. "Use Rukia as bait to pit him against Yamamoto."
"When they're both weakened, we and Aizen clean up."
"The plan's airtight. What's left to discuss?"
"I want to plant two spies near Roy to monitor him," Haschwalth said.
He'd mentioned Aizen's suggestion to Yhwach, but Yhwach, focused on the serpent, gave no response.
As temporary leader, Haschwalth took charge.
Scanning the group, he settled on two figures. "Giselle Gewelle, Bambietta Basterbine, you're assigned to infiltrate and spy on Roy."

Seireitei, Squad 13 Barracks
"Rukia teamed with a Quincy to slaughter Central 46?" Ukitake blinked at Kyouraku's report.
He quickly shook his head. "Rukia wouldn't do that. This reeks of Aizen's involvement."
"Same thought," Kyouraku nodded.
Three parties were involved: Gin Ichimaru, Rukia Kuchiki, and an unknown Quincy.
The Quincy aside, Gin, Aizen's lackey, was suspect.
Aizen's presence at Central 46 sealed it.
Knowing Aizen's true power, Kyouraku understood the implications.
"Rukia's being used as a pawn in Aizen's scheme," Kyouraku said. "Ukitake, why's Aizen doing this?"
"Likely the Hogyoku in Rukia," Ukitake said.
"But Roy took it out, right?" Kyouraku said.
"Yes, but Aizen probably doesn't know, so he framed Rukia," Ukitake said.
"Then we hold the advantage," Kyouraku said.
"Your plan?" Ukitake asked.
"Aizen needs time for his next move," Kyouraku said. "Before he acts, we quietly inform other captains about Kyoka Suigetsu, building an anti-Aizen coalition."
"When ready, we team with Roy to minimize fallout."
"Can you handle the Head Captain?" Ukitake asked.
"No clue. I'll test the waters," Kyouraku sighed.
Yamamoto was the real issue.
As Gotei 13's Head Captain, he was stubborn and xenophobic.
Mishandling him could make Roy's involvement chaotic.
"Ukitake, you handle Roy," Kyouraku said. "Whatever it takes, keep him steady."
"…I'll try," Ukitake said, wincing.
Roy's MAR assault spoke volumes about his temperament.
Convincing him to hold back was no small feat.
Parting with Kyouraku, Ukitake grabbed a parchment to contact Sazeks.

Time passed.
As Soul Society churned with schemes, Kuroka, itching for trouble, goaded Roy with taunts.
Her mewling screams filled the bedroom as Roy's Heavenly Fire Scabbard taught her the strength gap.
Red Dragon Emperor in the bedroom, a towering monster, unconquerable despite full effort.
At 4 a.m., leaving Koneko and Kuroka to nap, Roy descended to the fourth basement.
Unlike the third floor's training arena, the fourth had multiple zones.
Roy entered the materials room, removing a red wristband.
A gift from Rias, sourced from the Underworld, it could amplify weight up to 100 times.
Initially, Roy trained at 20-30 times.
Over time, his physique improved through relentless training and Entries boosting recovery and strength.
Now, 100 times was no longer his limit.
To grow faster, he decided to upgrade the gear.
Equipping [Scientific Expert] and related Entries, Roy retrieved dragon hide from storage.
Taken from MAR, it wasn't from a local dragon like Ddraig but an otherworldly one.
Details were unclear, but magical analysis confirmed its high mana affinity.
Cutting a piece, Roy inscribed runes.
Minutes later, five spell arrays adorned the hide.
Channeling mana, the runes glowed, the hide stretching to coat the wristband, fusing seamlessly.
"Not bad. Nailed it first try," Roy said, inspecting the dragon-patterned band.
Upgraded, it now supported 1,000 times weight—ten times the original.
In the training arena, Roy activated 200 times weight, adjusted, and began.
100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, 10km run.
The same routine, but under 200 times weight, every muscle strained.
Three hours later, Roy trained like a machine, sweat dripping, sensing a breakthrough nearing.
A chime interrupted.
Roy exhaled, pausing to grab his phone. "Yo, what's up?"
"That secretary you mentioned? I found her," Sazeks said.
"That fast?" Roy asked.
"She's interested in you. Didn't take much convincing," Sazeks said.
"Who is she?" Roy asked.
"Revel Phoenix," Sazeks said.
"You picked a good one. Her family cool with it?" Roy asked.
"Who'd say no to cozying up to the Red Dragon Emperor?" Sazeks said.
"Fair. When's she reporting?" Roy asked.
"This morning," Sazeks said.
"Got it. Have her meet me in Kuoh Town," Roy said, deciding.
They discussed MAR's Biblical faction collaboration, ironing out details.
Sazeks coughed, his tone serious. "Roy, I got intel from Soul Society."
"Rukia's in trouble?" Roy asked.
"How'd you know?" Sazeks said, startled.
"Guessed," Roy said.
"You sent Rukia back on purpose?" Sazeks asked.
"Sort of. I knew it'd stir Aizen, but not the specifics. What's the situation?" Roy asked.
"Central 46's wiped out. Rukia's been arrested," Sazeks said, summarizing the intel.
"Soul Society's a mess," he added. "But Ukitake and others ask you to hold off on rescuing her."
"Fine," Roy said.
"You're… okay with that?" Sazeks said, surprised.
"What, you want me to storm Soul Society, cut through the Gotei 13, and deal with Aizen?" Roy asked.
"No, no, definitely not!" Sazeks said, alarmed.
His early call was mainly to urge Roy to stay calm, with Revel's appointment secondary.
Roy's cooperation was ideal.
"But… what're you planning?" Sazeks asked.
"Nothing. I'm just playing along," Roy said.
"Playing along?"
"I don't need to overthink this," Roy said. "To make me effective, you and Aizen will set the stage."
"All I do is punch through whoever's in my way."
"…Very you," Sazeks said, chuckling after a pause. "Keep getting stronger, then."
"I'll contact you when it's time to act."
"Pleasant cooperation," Roy said, grinning, ending the call.
Returning upstairs, Rias and the others were up.
It was Monday. After breakfast, they headed to school.
"Hm?" Roy spotted a familiar yet odd figure upon entering.
"Is that… Issei Hyoudou?" Rias noticed, her eyes narrowing.
"Who's he?" Asia asked.
"A former client. Fallen angels nearly killed him. Roy saved him," Rias said, glancing at Roy, who'd paused. "Something wrong?"
"Nah, just remembered something," Roy said, sending Rias and the others to class.
He approached Issei. "Morning, Issei."
"Hey, Roy!" Issei greeted warmly, their bond solid from Roy's rescue. "Still surrounded by beauties, huh? Jealous, man."
"No need. The stack of discs under your bed outnumbers my girls," Roy teased.
"?!" Issei flinched, stung but unable to retort.
"You didn't come just to roast me, right?" he asked.
"Nope. Saw you and had an idea," Roy said, pulling out a bank card. "10 million yen to spar with me. Deal?"
"Huh?" Issei blinked.
He'd done this before, two months ago when they met.
But why did Roy, a terrifyingly strong devil, keep picking him?
"Well? Want the cash?" Roy asked.
Snapping back, Issei nodded eagerly.
Getting beat wasn't fun, but the payout was huge.
With safety assured, he didn't mind being a punching bag.
"Deal. Take the card and follow me," Roy said, handing it over.
They headed to the woods behind the school.
One minute later…
[Congratulations on defeating Issei Hyoudou. Acquired Red Entry: Oppai Star]
