Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Spark of Rebellion
Chapter 19: The Spark of Rebellion
The Yin estate descended further into disarray. The guards, fractured by suspicion and anger, became lax in their duties, while the noble family's infighting grew more intense. Adam watched it all unfold from the shadows, a quiet observer orchestrating the chaos.
Adam's smile sharpened. The Yin siblings were already on the brink, and all it would take was a carefully placed spark to ignite the fire.
Later that evening, Adam and his allies gathered in their secluded hideout. This time, he brought a piece of parchment with him—another forgery, crafted with the Phantom Quill. It was a "secret missive" from Yin Wei to a rival family, supposedly conspiring against Yin Hua to claim her share of the family's inheritance.
"We plant this where Yin Hua will find it," Adam explained. "She's already paranoid. This will push her over the edge."
Lao nodded. "And Yin Wei?"
Adam's grin widened. "He'll be too busy defending himself to see the real enemy."
The next day, Adam's plan took root. Yin Hua stormed into the grand hall during a family meeting, the forged letter clenched tightly in her hand.
"You traitorous snake!" she shouted, throwing the parchment onto the table.
Yin Wei's eyes narrowed as he read the letter. "This is a fabrication! Another one of your pathetic schemes!"
The patriarch's thunderous voice silenced them both. "Enough! This infighting is weakening us. If either of you is found guilty of conspiring, you will be cast out!"
Adam observed from the shadows, satisfied. The siblings' relationship was irreparably damaged, and the patriarch's warning had only added fuel to the fire.
That night, Adam added the final touch. Using the Mirage Charm, he disguised himself as one of Yin Wei's trusted guards and approached Yin Hua's chambers. He whispered about Yin Wei's "hidden movements" in the southern courtyard, planting a seed of doubt.
When Yin Hua's men confronted Yin Wei's guards in the dead of night, the spark ignited into an open confrontation. Blades clashed, and shouts filled the air, waking the entire estate.
As the first rays of dawn illuminated the battered courtyard, Adam retreated to his hideout. The Yin estate was now a battlefield, and Adam stood at the center of it all, unseen and unstoppable.
