Chapter 14: chapter 2:140 years ago part 2
- As I walked through the streets of the kingdom of Lumeria, I couldn't help but be impressed by the kindness of the people who greeted me. I wondered why they didn't show sadness or fear, knowing that other races didn't like them. I continued my way until I reached the exit of the city. Before me stretched a great plain, and in the distance, a majestic forest. Inspiration came over me; I wanted to explore these new landscapes, cities and races that I would never have imagined knowing. However, I stopped to think: if I became an explorer, who would protect this city where my race lives? I couldn't just leave like that.
Before returning to the castle, he knew he had to talk to the king. I walked for a few minutes and saw some men eating and drinking. My stomach growled; I hadn't eaten in hours, since I was teleported to this world. I clenched my hands and entered the castle without wasting any time.
Upon entering, the king approached me and told me that there was a banquet in the main hall to welcome me to this humble kingdom. I smiled from ear to ear and quickly headed towards the banquet. I sat down and ate hungrily, relieved to be able to quench my hunger.
After eating, the king approached me again and told me that I should go out and explore the world to gain knowledge and awaken my magical power. That idea filled me with happiness; I wanted to travel this new world, discover it and find out if there was a way to return home. If there wasn't, I would learn to live here, which I wouldn't mind that much either.
The king called a servant girl and asked her to show me the way to my room. She gladly agreed, and I followed her. After a long while, we arrived at my room, where he said goodbye and walked away. I went inside and lay on the bed, thinking about how I could live a normal life in this world full of magic, dragons, and diverse races.
- Iwatani: Shit, if only other heroes existed, I wouldn't have to be the hero of this world. Wait, other heroes? Exactly, if they existed, we could summon more heroes, right? Tomorrow I will tell the king that we try to summon other heroes.
Tiredness overcame me and I soon fell asleep, thinking about how to summon more heroes.
Eight hours later, I woke up refreshed. I left my room, got ready and headed to the throne room, where the king was waiting for me calmly.
- Iwatani: Rey, do you know if more heroes can be summoned?
- King: I'm sorry, hero, but that is impossible; Only one hero can be summoned every million years. This is what gems allow. Nobody knows what happens when a hero is summoned. It is a legend so old that not even the gods believe in it.
- Iwatani: Does that mean we got lucky with me?
- King: Yes, hero, we were just lucky. I'm sorry if I couldn't answer your question, and there's no magic to return to your world either, if that's what you think.
Frustration and anger took over me knowing that I wouldn't be able to summon any more heroes or return home.
- Iwatani: Hey, king, those gems are powerful.
I thought that if the gems had summoned me, maybe I could use their power to create artificial humans capable of using magic and protect the human race.
- King: Yes, the gems are very powerful; each one can even kill three gods. Vitae gems maintain the balance between good and evil; They are a balance of power.
- Iwatani: I see, king. Can you give me permission to study the gems vitae? Can you give them to me?*
- King: Okay, I don't see a problem, hero; Anyway, they won't be of much help to me here. We can't use magic.
- Iwatani: Thank you, king. Then I will get ready for my journey and to use my magical power.
- King: I wish you a safe journey, hero. Be careful on the road; I will give you farewell food. Take care of yourself.
- Iwatani: Thank you very much, king.
I said goodbye to the king, backed away and left the throne room, thus beginning my journey through this new world. My goal: find a way to create artificial heroes thanks to vitae gems and use my magic power. Thus I spent a whole year until I reached the kingdom of demons.
