Chapter 4: The Chess Match

It's been 4 weeks since the Akunoō fight, and things have been pretty peaceful so far.

A sudden knock strikes my door.

I sigh, just my luck, I answer the knock and open the door.

I'm greeted with a floating entity that has curly long hair and blue eyes; she's seen wearing a blue coat and black shoes. It begins to tell me its name. Greetings, Saiko, my name is Zenchino.

I say with a blank expression. What do you want?

Zenchino grins and chuckles. To challenge you in intelligence. I've heard you're pretty smart, but let's see how your intelligence fairs against my omniscience.

Akaime walks into the room; she says, Seriously, Saiko? Who is this guy?

Zenchino moves her pawns forward one

I move my pawn forward one.

Zenchino takes out her queen next.

I almost get checked by Zenchino right off the bat, but I quickly adapt and move my rook in front of Zenchinos queen and tap the timer. I grin. You really thought it'd be that easy?

Zenchino takes out my rook with my queen and instantly taps the timer. Zenchino says calmly. We'll see about that.

I take out Zenchino Queen with my bishop while also simultaneously checking Zenchino with where my bishop was at. I instantly tap the timer again and say, with a blank expression, You got baited and checked.

Akaime sighs and notes they're thinking too fast for me; I can't picture myself matching their intelligence at all; they're making their move every 1 millisecond. I don't think I could do that...

Zenchino moves her king under the pawns above it and instantly taps the timer again. Zenchino says it's not over yet.

I take advantage of the pawns and move My bishop to block the left side of Zenchinos only exit, and I instantly tap the timer. I grin it's over, checkmate.

Zenchino says surprised talk about unpredictable I didn't think you'd do that, but then again, your so unpredictable. You're a real genius, alright, I'll admit that, but it looks like your knowledge goes past omniscience itself, or I wouldn't have lost at all. Oh well.

Akaime says surprised that was quite the comeback, my lord.

I say with a blank expression. I just had to try a little; that's just all. That was a good game nonetheless.

Zenchino says calmly Just because you won today doesn't mean it's over. I'll come battle you again.

I say calmly, I'm well aware of that.

Zenchino walks out of his house

Akaime says seriously, my lord, do you think I can ever play chess like that too someday?

Akaime says seriously. Potential? But when I watched you, I couldn't picture myself reaching your level of processing speed in chess.
