The Shadow King's Black Operation

The war council looked at him with amazement.

Valen spoke first. "You want to infiltrate Solcathar alone?"

Kaelen nodded. "With Nyssa."

Nyssa leaned back with a rare grin on her lips. "About time you took me on a real mission."

Valen scowled. "They possess divine wards. Anti-shadow artefacts. Elite guards. And Sephira herself might be present."

Kaelen caught his gaze, his voice quiet.

"That's exactly why we'll go… before they expect it."

The night of infiltration

The moon hung high as Kaelen and Nyssa approached the shadow gate, a gateway that led to the outer border of Solcathar's defensive walls.

Kaelen and Nyssa ran into the shadows.

"Kaelen! "Do you dare defile Solcathar's sacred heart?"

Kaelen did not respond. He flung the core towards Nyssa.

In "The Duel in the Halls," Sephira appeared with a dazzling spear.

"You won't leave alive."

Kaelen raised his sword. "We'll see."

They clashed: shadow vs light.

When Kaelen launched a wave of corrupting shadow, Sephira responded with a shield of heavenly flame.

Blades collided, resulting in a spray of sparks.

But Kaelen saw something—her power wavered. The curse he cast on her during the last battle remained beneath her bright aura.

He pushed harder.

Escape Through the Gate.

Nyssa opened a Shadow Gate behind Kaelen as the fight pushed Sephira back.

"Time to go, Your Majesty!" She shouted.

Kaelen gave Sephira a stern look.

This is your only warning, Sephira. Next time... "I will not leave you breathing."

With a final flash of shadow, he vanished into the Gate.

Aftermath — Shock waves of the Raid

Back in Eldrin, Kaelen faced the Shadow Legion, clutching the Shadow Core Fragment in his palm.

Valen looked at him as if he were nuts.

"You infiltrated the Council's fortress..." They stole a forbidden artefact.

Kaelen smirked. "No. I sent a message."
